A.Introduction
Thankyou for choosingthe 16-3903 portable DVD player. The main
featuresincludea7" Wide Screen(16:9AspectRatio) LiquidCrystal
Display(LCD)monitorandaDVD player. The unit applies the latest
state ofthe art electronics and is designed for use in hotels, offices
oryourhome.The unit is constructed toprovideyearsofreliable,
trouble-free service, and is compact so that you can take itwithyou
anywhereand is designed forquickand easyinstallation.Please read
theentire instructionmanual suppliedwith thisproductprior to using.
Thedocumentation will assist youininstalling thesystem properlyto
obtain thebest equipment performance. Please savethismanual for
later use.
B. Cautions and Warnings
1. Placement
Toprevent fireorelectric shock,donotexpose this appliance to
rain or moisture.Donot place the set on an unstable cart, stand,
tripod, bracket ortable toprevent it fromfalling. Keeptheunit away
from strongmagnets,heatsources,directsunlight, excessive dust.
Ifthe unit is brought directlyfrom a cold to a warm location, mois-
ture maycondense inside the unit. When you move it from a cold
toa warm location, wait forabout one hourbefore operating the
unit, or removethe discandleave theunitturnedonuntilthemois-
ture evaporates.
2. Installation
Ensure that the 7 portable DVD player isinstalled in accordance
with the instructions and illustrations provided in this manual.
3. Caution
Do not push objects ofany kindinto the unit throughopenings;
do not spill or sprayliquid ofanykind on or in the system (this
mayresult in a fire or electric shock). Do not place anything
heavy onthe unit. Toensure proper ventilation and proper

operation,never cover or blocktheslots and openings with acloth
orothermaterial.Keepthe unit awayfroman open flame such
asfire, candleetc. It ishazardousto replacethe battery incorrectly.
Replacethe batteryonly with thesame or equivalenttype, in order
toprotecttheenviromnent,pleasedispose the battery properly.Do
notuse the unitin temperatures higher than 95degrees Fahren-
heit or 35 degrees Celsius.
4.Disassemble
Do not attempt to disassemble the cabinet. There is ariskofelec-
tricshock and/orexposure to LaserRadiation. Contact qualified
service personnel ifyour system needs repair.
5.Cleaning Unit
Whencleaning,makesurethesystem isunplugged fromthepower
source. Donotuseliquid cleaners or aerosolcleaners. Usea cloth
lightly dampenedwith waterfor cleaningtheexterior ofthe system
only.
6. Disc
Do not use irregularlyshaped discs such asheart orstar-shaped
discs as theymay cause the unittomalfunction.Donotstickpaper,
tapeor glue on the disc. Do not expose thedisc to direct sunlight
or heat sources. Do not touchthe surface ofdisc. Handle thedisc
by itsedge. Cleanthedisc bywipingthedisc from the center out
with acleaning cloth. Removethe disc from the unit and store it in
its case after playing. Some playbackoperationsofdiscs maybe
intentionally fixed bysoftwareproducers. Since this unitplays discs
according to the disc contentsthesoftwareproducers designed,
some playbackfeatures maynot be available. Also refer to the in-
structionssuppliedwiththediscs.

1. Powering the system indoors (Refer to Figure 2)
Plugone end ofthe AC to DC adapter into the DC 9V jackon the
rightsideofthe main unit, then plugthe otherend intothe120VAC
powerreceptacle.
2. Powering the systemin a car
Plug oneendofthe cigarettelighteradapterintothe DC9V jackon
theunit, then plugtheother end intothe cigarette lighter socket.

F. Loading and Playing a Disc
a.After connecting powerto theunit, poweron “DVDplayer with the
power switch. The powerindicator will light.
b. Open the disc traybypressing OPEN, and place adiscinto the
traywith the label side facingup.
c.Close thetrayby pressing the “PRESS button.Theunit will load
the disc and start playing.
d.Rotate BRIGHTNESS andVOLUME toadjust theLCD’sbright-
nessand the DVD player’s volume.
e. To stopplaying adisc,pressSTOP.

G. Setup
Press ‘SETUP’to displaythe Main screenofthe Setup Menu on the
screen.Press ‘SETUP’again toexittheSetupMenuand the unitwill
resume it’s last playbackmode.

1) Press “SETUP , the ‘General Setup Page’will display on screen.
a).Select ‘TV Display’usingthe UP/DOWNbutton, andthen press
RIGHTtoenterthe submenu.Selectthe TVdisplaymode on the
screenusingUP/DOWN, and pressENTERto confirm the
setting. Press LEFT to return.
*Normal/PS:Whentheplayerisconnectedto anormal TV,and
a widepicture is shown on the full screen.
*Normal/LB:When the playeris connectedto anormalTV, and
a widepictureisshown onthe screenwith a blackstripatboth
the top and bottom of the screen.
*Wide: Whenthe player is connected to a wide screen TV,a
wide picture is shown on the full screen.

b).Select ‘TV Type’using theUP/DOWNbutton, and then press the
RIGHT button toenterthe submenu.Choose TVType usingtheUP/

NTSC: The standard TV system used in the USA, Canada, Japan and
manyother countries.
PAL: The standard system used in Europe, Africa and the Middle East,
amongother places.
c).Select ‘AngleMark’usingthe UP/DOWNbuttton, and then pressthe
RIGHTbutton to enterthesubmenu. Choose Angle Markon or off
using the UP/DOWNbutton and then press ENTER to confirmthe
setting. Press the LEFT button to return.

*On:Thescreenwillshow the angle mark icon.(*If an angle option is
available).
* Off:The screen will not display theAngle Mark
NOTE: Not all discs contain abovefeatures. The abovefeatures are
discdependent.

e). Select ‘Last Memory’byUP/DOWNbutton.and then press the
RIGHT buttonto enter the submenu. Choose Last Memoryon or
off usingthe UP/DOWN button and then press ENTER to confirm
the setting. Press the LEFT button to return.
Last MemoryScreen Display
*On: The unit will return to the last position on the disc.
*Off: Theunit will not return to the last position on the disc.
d).Select ‘Screen Saver’usingthe UP/DOWN button,and then press
theRIGHTbuttonto enterthesubmenu.ChooseScreenSaveron or
offusingthe UP/DOWNbuttonand thenpressENTERto confirm the
setting. Press the LEFT button to return.

*NOTE: The DVD playerwill enter the Screen Savermode after ap-

UP/DOWNbutton, thenpressENTERtoconfirm the setting. Press

Note: Language and subtitle selection isonly available for discs that
arerecorded in the abovelisted languages.If the selected,language
is notavailable,the playerwill playand displayon thescreen the origi-
nalrecorded language containedin thedisc.
d. Select ‘Parental’using the UP/DOWNbutton,thenpressRIGHT to
enter thesubmenu.
Parental PreferenceScreenDisplay
Select the parental level you desireusingtheUP/DOWN button for
discs with lock-out function or multiplerating levels. Theseare listed
fromthe lowestlevel (1Kid Safe)to the highestlevel (8Adult). Entera
4digitpassword,thenpressENTER to confirmthe parentallevel
setting.
NOTE: The levelof8Adult isthe factorydefault.

e.Select ‘Default’usingtheUP/DOWN button, then press RIGHTtoen-
terthesubmenu. PressENTER to make thesettingreturnto thefac-
tory-set mode.
NOTE: The parental setting isnotaffected bythedefault reset
function.
Loading FactorySetting
NOTE: TheDefault Password is 3308.This passwordis always ef-
fectiveevenafteryou haveselected your ownpasswordand changed
it. Toavoid the possibilityofothers usingthe defaultpasswordto set
the parentallevelandchangethe password, you canrecord this
defaultpasswordin anotherareaand deleteit fromthismanual. Some
discscan be limited dependingonthe age ofuserswhile some discs
cannot.

I.Menu
A DVD is divided into sections called titlesandchapters. When you
play a DVD,aroot menu ofthedisc will appearonthescreen ofyour
TV orMonitor. Thecontentsof themenu varyfrom disc todisc.Press
MENU duringplaybackto display the menu. Some DVDs onlyallow
you to select disc playbackoptionsusingtheDVD root menu.
J.Display
1. PLAYINGTIME AND REMAININGTIME
a. Duringplaybackpress the ‘DISPLAY’button to displaythe cur-
rent Title Number (1), the total Number ofTitles (2), the current
ChapterNumber (3), thetotal Numberof Chapters (4), andthe
Playing elapsedTimefor thetitle (5). Theheadingwill disappear
automaticallyafter 3 seconds ifDISPLAYbuttonis not pressed.

2. ANGLE
Duringplayback ofadisc,press‘ANGLE’todisplaythe availableangles
fordiscscontainingmulti-angles*, with the current angle number (1)
andthetotal numberof angles(2) displaying.Press‘ANGLE’toselect
another angle, then press again to exitandreturn tothe normal
viewing angle.The angledisplaywill disappearautomatically if the
‘ANGLE’button is not pressed again within 3seconds.
*NOTE: Notall discscontain this feature.
