ArduIN-9
Solder Pads (K2-K9
The posi ion of he solder pads correspond wi h he connec ors on he Arduino Uno
board. You can solder he supplied connec ors he way you like. If you're planning o
s ick he ArduIN-9 on o your Arduino Uno, hen moun he supplied connec ors according
o he Uno's connec ors. If you're going o use he ArduIN-9 wi hou Arduino Uno, you
can use he solder pads specifically for your applica ion.
Driving the IN-9 Tubes
Each IN-9 ube is driven by means of one of hese signals on a specific inpu pin:
▪A PWM signal. The PWM signal mus be 5V. The PWM frequency should be a leas
500 Hz, else he corresponding ube may flicker.
▪An analog signal be ween 0 V .. 5 V. The inpu impedance is around 100 KΩ.
Input Pin IN-9 Tube
DIGITAL.-3 Tube #1 (K10)
DIGITAL.-5 Tube #2 (K11)
DIGITAL.-6 Tube #3 (K12)
DIGITAL.-9 Tube #4 (K13)
An IN-9 ube reaches i s maximum level ypically a a PWM du y cycle of 65%. Use an
higher du y cycle o burn in a ube.
CAUTION!
If you drive mul iple IN-9 ubes a heir highes level for a prolonged ime, he main
board may hea up significan ly.
Burn-in Procedure for IN-9 Tubes
A lo of IN-9 ubes are new old s ock. When you firs connec and use such an IN-9 ube,
chances are real you won' be able o drive he ube o i s maximum level. In ha case, a
burn-in procedure will be required.
Drive he ube o i s fulles achievable brigh ness. If you drive even higher, he brigh ness
will lower again. Now wai for he ube o reach i s maximum level. This may ake up o
15 or even 30 minu es depending on he ube. The ube may hea up significan ly during
he process.
Once he ube has reached i s maximum level, he burn-in procedure has comple ed. The
ube is ready for normal usage.
