Whenthecameradetectsthecolortemperatureoftheincominglight,itcanadusttheimagetomakethecolorslookmore
natural.Ifthisisnotsufcient,youcanselectasuitablelightsourcefromthelist.
Theautomaticwhitebalancesettingreducestheriskofcolorickerbyadaptingtochangesgradually.Ifthelightingchanges,or
whenthecameraisrststarted,itcantakeupto30secondstoadapttothenewlightsource.Ifthereismorethanonetype
oflightsourceinascene,thatistheydifferincolortemperature,thedominatinglightsourceactsasareferenceforthe
automaticwhitebalancealgorithm.Thisbehaviorcanbeoverriddenbychoosingaxedwhitebalancesettingthatmatches
thelightsourceyouwanttouseasareference.

improvetheimage.
Maxgain:Selectthesuitablemaxgain.Ifyouincreasethemaxgain,itimprovesthevisiblelevelofdetailindarkimages,but
alsoincreasesthenoiselevel.Morenoisecanalsoresultinincreaseduseofbandwidthandstorage.Ifyousetthemaxgain
toahighvalue,imagescandifferalotifthelightconditionsareverydifferentfromdaytonight.Maxgainworkswithmax
shuttertoimprovetheimage.
Motion-adaptiveexposure:Selecttoreducemotionblurinlow-lightconditions.
Blur-noisetrade-off:Usetheslidertoadusttheprioritybetweenmotionblurandnoise.Ifyouwanttoprioritizelowbandwidth
andhavelessnoiseattheexpenseofdetailsinmovingobects,movetheslidertowardsLownoise.Ifyouwanttoprioritizethe
preservationofdetailsinmovingobectsattheexpenseofnoiseandbandwidth,movetheslidertowardsLowmotionblur.
Note
Youcanchangetheexposureeitherbyadustingtheexposuretimeorbyadustingthegain.Ifyouincreasetheexposure
time,itresultsinmoremotionblur,andifyouincreasethegainitresultsinmorenoise.IfyouadusttheBlur-noise
trade-offtowardsLownoise,theautomaticexposurewillprioritizelongerexposuretimesoverincreasinggain,andthe
oppositeifyouadustthetrade-offtowardsLowmotionblur.Boththegainandexposuretimewilleventuallyreach
theirmaximumvaluesinlow-lightconditions,regardlessofthepriorityset.

Lockaperture:TurnontokeeptheaperturesizesetbytheApertureslider.Turnofftoallowthecameratoautomatically
adusttheaperturesize.Youcan,forexample,locktheapertureforsceneswithpermanentlightconditions.
Aperture:Usetheslidertoadusttheaperturesize,thatis,howmuchlightpassesthroughthelens.Toallowmorelight
toenterthesensorandtherebyproduceabrighterimageinlow-lightconditions,movetheslidertowardsOpen.Anopenaperture
alsoreducesthedepthofeld,whichmeansthatobectsclosetoorfarfromthecameracanappearunfocused.Toallowmoreof
theimagetobeinfocus,movetheslidertowardsClosed.
Exposurelevel:Usetheslidertoadusttheimageexposure.
Defog:Turnontodetecttheeffectsoffoggyweatherandautomaticallyremovethemforaclearerimage.
Note
WerecommendyounottoturnonDefoginsceneswithlowcontrast,largelightlevelvariations,orwhentheautofocusis
slightlyoff.Thiscanaffecttheimagequality,forexample,byincreasingthecontrast.Furthermore,toomuchlightcan
negativelyimpacttheimagequalitywhendefogisactive.
Stream
General
Resolution:Selecttheimageresolutionsuitableforthesurveillancescene.Ahigherresolutionincreasesbandwidthandstorage.
Framerate:Toavoidbandwidthproblemsonthenetworkorreducestoragesize,youcanlimittheframeratetoaxedamount.
Ifyouleavetheframerateatzero,theframerateiskeptatthehighestpossiblerateunderthecurrentconditions.Ahigher
frameraterequiresmorebandwidthandstoragecapacity.
Compression:Usetheslidertoadusttheimagecompression.Highcompressionresultsinalowerbitrateandlowerimagequality.
Lowcompressionimprovestheimagequality,butusesmorebandwidthandstoragewhenyourecord.
Signedvideo:Turnontoaddthesignedvideofeaturetothevideo.Signedvideoprotectsthevideofromtamperingby
addingcryptographicsignaturestothevideo.
