TheLiveViewpageintheprodutprovidesaesstoH.264andMotionJPEGvideostreams,andtothelistofavailablestream
proles.Otherappliationsandlientsanaessvideostreamsdiretly,withoutgoingviatheLiveViewpage.
HowtoStreamH.264
H.264an,withoutompromisingimagequality,reduethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%omparedwiththeMotion
JPEGformatandasmuhas50%morethantheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatmuhlessnetworkbandwidthandstoragespae
arerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,muhhighervideoqualityanbeahievedforagivenbitrate.
Deidingwhihombinationofprotoolsandmethodstousedependsonyourviewingrequirements,andonthepropertiesof
yournetwork.TheavailableoptionsinAXISMediaControlare:

H.264,alsoknownasMPEG-4Part10/AVC,isavideoompressionstandardthatprovideshighqualityvideostreamsatlowbitrates.
AnH.264videostreamonsistsofdifferenttypesofframessuhasI-framesandP-frames.AnI-frameisaompleteimagewhereas
P-framesonlyontainthedifferenesfrompreviousframes.
TheGOVlengthisthenumberofframesbetweentwoonseutiveI-frames.InreasingtheGOVlengthmaysaveonsiderablyon
bandwidthrequirementsinsomeases,butmayalsohaveanadverseaffetonimagequality.
ThebitrateanbesetasVariablebitrate(VBR)orConstantbitrate(CBR).VBRadjuststhebitrateaordingtotheimage
omplexity,usingupmorebandwidthforinreasedativityintheimage,andlessforlowerimageativity.Whentheativityin
theseneinreases,thebitratewouldusuallyinreaseaswell.Ifthereisasurplusinbandwidth,thismaynotbeanissueand
seletingVariablebitrate(VBR)willbesufient.Butifbandwidthislimited,itisreommendedtoontrolthebitratebyseleting
Constantbitrate(CBR).Whentheativityintheseneinreases,VBRadjuststhebitrateaordingtotheomplexity,usingup
morebandwidthforinreasedativityinthesene,andlessforlowerseneativity.CBRallowsyoutosetatargetbitratethat
limitsthebandwidthonsumption.
TheCBRtargetbitrateworksliketheeilingofatent.Itlimitsthebitrate,whilemaintainingsomeexibility.Thebitratemayboune
upanddownwithinthesettargetbutwhenitnearsthesettargetvalue,thelimitationkiksin.However,beauseCBRwillalways
prioritizeaontinuousvideostream,itallowstemporaryovershootsfromthetargetbitrate.Beausesettingatargetvalueprevents
thebitratefrominreasing,framerateandimagequalityareaffetednegatively.Topartlyompensateforthis,seletwhihvariable
shallbeprioritized,framerateorimagequality.Notsettingaprioritymeansthatframerateandimagequalityareequallyaffeted.

providesonsistentlygoodimagequalityattheexpenseofinreasedbandwidthandstorageusageinlowlight.Limitingtheframe

Exposurezones-Thissettingdetermineswhihpartoftheimageisusedtoalulatetheexposure.Formostsituations,theAuto
settinganbeused.Forpartiularrequirements,seletapredenedarea.
Exposurepriority-WhenotionisprioritizedandmaximumShuttertimeissettoasmallvalue,motionblurintheimageis
minimized.Thisanbeusefulforreognitionofmovingobjetssuhaspeopleandvehiles.However,prioritizingmotionmayause
aninreaseinimagenoise,espeiallyinlowlightsituations.WhenLownoiseisprioritizedandGainissettoasmallvalue,image
