Toadjusttheviewinrelationtoareferenceareaoranobject,usethelevelingguideincombinationwithamechanicaladjustment
ofthecamera.
1.GotoSettings>System>Orientationandclick.
2.Adjustthecameramechanicallyuntilthepositionofthereferenceareaortheobjectisalignedwiththelevelingguide.
Selectceneprole
Asceneproleisasetofpredenedimageappearancesettingsincludingcolorlevel,brightness,sharpness,contrastandlocal
contrast.Sceneprolesarepreconguredintheproductforquicksetuptoaspecicscenario,forexampleForensicwhichis
optimizedforsurveillanceconditions.Foradescriptionofeachavailablesetting,gotothehelpmenuandclickHelp.
Youcanselectasceneproleduringtheinitialsetupofthecamera.Youcanalsoselectorchangesceneprolelater.

Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andgaintoimproveimagequalityfor

BenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionuingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheday.Astheavailablelightdiminishes,youcansetthecamerato
automaticallyshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisiblelightandnear-infraredlighttodeliverblack-and-white
images.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavailablelightitcandeliverbrighter,moredetailed,images.
1.GotoSettings>mage>Dayandnight,andmakesurethattheRcutlterissettoAuto.
2.Todetermineatwhatlightlevelyouwantthecameratoshifttonightmode,settheDay-nightshiftprioritytoDay,
NightorNone.
3.EnableAllowRilluminationandSynchronizeRilluminationtousethecamera’sIRlightwhennightmodeisactivated.
Reducemotionblurinlow-lightcondition
Toreducemotionblurinlow-lightconditions,adjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettingsinSettings>mage>Exposure:
•MovetheBlur-noisetrade-offslidertowardLowmotionblur.

Acapturemodeisapresetcongurationthatdeneshowthecameracapturesimages.Theselectedmodecanaffectthemaximum
resolutionandmaximumframerateavailableinthedevice.Ifyouuseacapturemodewithalowerresolutionthanthemaximum,
theeldofviewmightbereduced.Thecapturemodealsoaffectstheshutterspeed,whichinturnaffectsthelightsensitivity–a
capturemodewithahighmaximumframeratehasareducedlightsensitivity,andviceversa.Notethatwithcertaincapturemodes
youmightnotbeabletouseWDR.
Thelowerresolutioncapturemodemightbesampledfromtheoriginalresolution,oritmightbecroppedoutfromtheoriginal,in
whichcasetheeldofviewcouldalsobeaffected.

masksappearasblocksofsolidcolor.
Theprivacymaskisrelativetothepan,tilt,andzoomcoordinates,soregardlessofwhereyoupointthecamera,theprivacy
maskcoversthesameplaceorobject.
You’llseetheprivacymaskonallsnapshots,recordedvideo,andlivestreams.
YoucanusetheVAPIX®applicationprogramminginterface(APItohidetheprivacymasks.
Important
Ifyouusemultipleprivacymasksitmayaffecttheproduct’sperformance.
Youcancreateseveralprivacymasks.Themaximumnumberofmasksdependsonthecomplexityofallthemaskscombined.The
moreanchorpointsineachmask,thefewermasksyoucancreate.Eachmaskcanhave3to10anchorpoints.
Overlay
Overlaysaresuperimposedoverthevideostream.Theyareusedtoprovideextrainformationduringrecordings,suchasatimestamp,

Guardtour
Aguardtourdisplaysthevideostreamfromdifferentpresetpositionseitherinapredeterminedorrandomorder,andforcongurable
periodsoftime.Oncestarted,aguardtourcontinuestorununtilstopped,evenwhentherearenoclients(webbrowsersviewingthe
images.
Theguardtourfunctionincludestourrecording.Thisallowsrecordingacustomtourusinganinputdevice,suchasajoystick,a
mouse,orakeyboard,orthroughusingtheVAPIX®ApplicationProgrammingInterface(API.Arecordedtourisareplayofarecorded
sequenceofpan/tilt/zoommovements,includingtheirvariablespeedsandlengths.
