1 Check Package Contents
• Conguring Internet Properties
To make sure that the device installation will run
smoothly, you need to remove or disable conicts that
may interfere with the installation. Probable conicts
may include:
Internet sharing, proxy software and rewall
applications may interfere with the installation.
These should be removed or disabled before
starting the installation.
Click the Start button, and then click Run. This
opens the Run dialog box.
Type ‘control inetcpl.cpl’ and then click OK. This
opens the Internet Properties window.

Click Connections tab.
In Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings,
check ‘Never dial a connection’.
Click OK to close the Internet Properties.

• Removing Temporary Internet Files
Temporary Internet les are les from Web sites
that are stored in your computer. Delete these les
to clean the cache and remove footprints left by the
Web pages you visited.
Click the Start button and then click Run. This
opens the Run dialog box.
Type ‘control’ and then click OK to open the
Control Panel.
Double-click Internet Options to open the Internet
Options window.

In the Temporary Internet Files pane, click Delete
Cookies.
Click Delete Files.
To close Internet Properties, click OK.

Here are the instructions on how to install the Utility
driver for Windows Vista, 7 and 8.
Note: Do not connect the device until the Utility is
completely installed.
To install the driver software:
Insert the Resource CD to the CD-ROM. This opens
the WL593USB Realtek Wireless Utility. If the Utility
does not open automatically, click the Start button
and then click Run. Enter d:\setup.exe where d is
the CD-ROM drive.

User Manual is included in the Resource CD and is also
downloadable on our Aztech Support Website (http://www.
aztech.com/support/).

After installing the software, you may now proceed
tohardwareinstallation by insertingtheWL593USB
to any of the USB ports of your computer.
5 Connect to a Wireless AP

After restarting your computer, launch the
REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Utility found in your
desktop; the Utility icon will appear in your
system tray.

NOTE: The adapter tray’s icon indicates the
connection status received by your WL593USB
adapter:
If the icon is green, a wireless connection
has been established.
If the icon is red, there is no connection.

On the Wireless LAN Utility, click on the ‘Available
Network’ tab and then select the Wireless Access
Point you wish to connect to.
Launch the Realtek USB Wireless LAN Utility by
double-clicking on the icon located on the desktop,
or by clicking on the utility icon found at the System
Tray.
After selecting the Wireless AP you will connect to,
click the ‘Add to Prole’ button.

On the ‘Network Key’ and ‘Conrm Network Key’
input box, input the Wireless AP’s password.

Click the ‘OK’ button to apply.E.
After connecting successfully to the Wireless
Access Point, you will be redirected to the General
Tab of the Wireless LAN Utility.
General. Displays the status of the current
connection SSID, its encryption, MAC address
and the Quality of the connection.
Prole. In this tab, you can add, edit, duplicate
and remove proles from your prole list.
Available Network. Displays the list of available
Wireless APs in range.
Status. Shows a detailed information about
your current connection.
Wi-Fi Protect Setup (WPS). Allows you to
determine the method of WPS Connection
(PBC and PIN Conguration).

Determine if you have successfully connected
to the Wireless AP. The ‘Status’ setting in the
General tab should display “Associated”, and the
‘Signal Strength’ and ‘Link Quality’ bars would be
GREEN in color.
