Bada Pen Guide – 10 –
01 Identifying Bada Pen Version
There are currently three versions of the Bada Pen:
Before you can update the rmware, you must identify the version. The year of
production can be found on the back of the Bada Pen box on the Tracking Label.
(*Note: The V3 pens are physically indistinguishable.)
I. Firmware Updates
Pen Version Production Year Feature Change Firmware File
Bada Pen V4 2019 updateV4.chp
Bada Pen V3
(formerly Bada Pen 1) 2017 Switch between audio/
Bluetooth mode changed updateC.chp
Bada Pen V3
(formerly Bada Pen 1) 2016 update.chp
Since the two V3 pens are not distinguishable physically, the best way for
customers to use the correct rmware is to put both of the rmware les
in the Bada Pen folder along with the new pen le. When the user turns on the
pen, they will hear the update start. Now, the next time they connect their pens
via USB, they can delete the remaining .chp le.

Bada Pen Guide – 11 –

to start using.
Step 8 : If you need to update the sound le, go to Section II.B and II.C.
Notes
If you do not hear the system sound telling that it’s updating, you’ve most

moment only PCs can be used to format the pens. Please do not use Macs.
