Safety Precautions
Make sure the area is completely free of people or animals during use, as the machine
may toss up foreign bodies such as small rocks and dirt.
Disengage the power drive to the equipment during raising, changing direction, or for
any other maneuvering.
Shut off tractor engine before making any adjustments on the stone burier.
Never raise the stone burier too high when maneuvering over hills. It can damage the
PTO shaft. Always disengage the PTO.
The stone burier must run at the PTO speed (r. p.m.) indicated on the gearbox. A higher
speed may damage the machine.
Never use PTO shaft without a Torque Limiter Clutch. Immediately replace plastic
coverings of the PTO shaft as soon as any wear and tear occurs.
Never allow anyone to attempt to ride on machine.
Never work on or maintain the machine when in the raised position.
Always ensure that PTO shaft guards are in good order.
Transportation on Public Roads
Note: Please observe the transportation laws in your area.
As the attachment of equipment to the tractor changes weight distribution, additional ballasts
may need to be used to restore the balance of the axle.
When the stone burier is not connected to the tractor, it must be transported with a suitable
lifting frame. A storage & fork lifting frame is provided with the machine. For lifting a machine,
a suspended point is indicated on the stone burier.
Use of Equipment
The attached stone burier machine must be operated solely using the original universal joint
equipped with safety guards which must be prevented from rotating by the appropriate chain.
Warning: always check that the PTO speed on the tractor corresponds to the PTO speed on the
machine to be used; i.e. 540 to 540 and 1000 to 1000 PTO speeds must always be synchronized.
If the PTO speed is altered, the PTO shaft shear bolt must be changed.
Always disconnect the PTO when the machine is not in use. Turn off the engine and place the
machine on the ground or storage fork lift frame. Do not exceed the power limits applied to
the machine.

Stone Burier Set Up
Tractor Attachment
Place the machine on a level surface and proceed as follows:
1. Connect the lower links of the tractor to the junction of the stone burier.
2. Connect the upper link (third point).
3. Fit the PTO shaft.
If the PTO shaft needs to be shortened, remove the same amount from both pipes shaft halves,
so that they remain same length.
Warning: the two halves must overlap for at least 150 mm when the PTO shaft is extended to
its greatest length. When it is at its closed position, the minimum overlap cannot be less than
40 mm.
Assembling the Blades
The blades should be mounted in the same direction; either right to left or left to right.
Each rotor shaft flange should be mounted with 4 blades, alternating 2 leaning to the right and
2 leaning to the left, with the cutting edge turned up.
On the rotor shaft there are 4 longer blades (2 right & 2 left) to put on the 2 end rotor flanges.
PLEASE NOTE: When using a new machine for the first time, check all screws and nuts on main
frame and supports after a few hours of work. They must be fully tightened to maintain rigidity.
Check this frequently.

Note: in order to obtain the best performance from the machine, it is necessary to follow the
following instructions.
During operation the stone burier must be horizontal. The front of the machine can be
raised slightly which can be adjusted by the upper link (third point). A hydraulic top link
is preferred.
Working depth is adjusted by the height of the rear roller.
The PTO should always be disengaged when the stone burier is raised and when
turning on uneven terrain.
Engage the PTO when the blades are beginning to hit the ground.
The working angle of the PTO shaft should be as small as possible, or less than 15°.
Always use the correct PTO shaft with a torque limiting shear bolt suitable to your
tractor to avoid damage to gears.
Maintenance
Lubrication
Please Note: Good maintenance extends the life of your machine.
Before starting up the machine for the first time, check the lubricant
level as described below.
• Before performing the checking operations, add or change the lubricant, then clean all
involved parts carefully.
• Clean the machine after use to prevent rust, with oil or equivalent.
•The gear box is filled with SAE 75W-90 oil (for quantity table 1).
• Check the level of oil frequently. Change the oil after the first 20 hours of work.
Thereafter change the oil every 400 hours of works or once every year.
•The main frame chain drive housing is filled with 460 oil. The level of oil should be
maintained by topping up as required. To fill the correct amount of oil, refer to table 2.

After the first 50 hours of operation it is necessary to change the oil in the main gear box/speed
–reducing unit. In order to do so, drain the oil by removing the drain plug, then add the new
lubricant of the prescribed type through the cap opening until the lubricant reaches the correct
level on the transparent level plug or on the dip stick.
Storage
For proper maintenance, if the machine remains unused for a long period of time, it is
necessary to complete the following steps:
1. Wash the machine thoroughly, especially removing all traces of fertilizer, chemical
products, etc.
2. Verify that the machine is in working condition.
3. Protect all uncoated metal parts by coating them with oil, then cover the machine and
store it in a dry place.
4. Place machine on storage stand.
