• No part of the IEX tile can come in contact with any type of dust.
• No part of the IEX tile can come in contact with any type of corrosive substance.
• Do not incline, scratch, or crash the LED display during installation.

R5915190 /00 IEX
11 IEX SERIES
• Do not direct the air outlet of an air conditioner to the LED display.
• Do not place or use the LED display in an environment with volatile, corrosive or
flammable chemical products.
• Using the LED product in an environment with high corrosive gasses (e.g. Sulphur)
can lead to discoloration of the materials. This discoloration gives a change in
brightness of the product. This could lead to uniformity differences and possibly also
to failures. Each use of the product in this kind of environment needs to be checked
up-front with the supplier.
• IEX tiles are to be used in environments meeting the operating specifications.
• IEX tiles are not to be used in environments that are subject to airborne contaminants
such as that produced by smoke machines (cracked oil) or similar (these deposit a thin
layer of greasy residue upon the LEDs optics, degrading performance).
• IEX tiles are not to be exposed to extreme localized heat or cold exceeding the
temperature specifications.
• IEX tiles are not to be exposed to any element or situation that will cause any part
of the display to heat beyond what occurs during normal operation. Such situations
include but are not limited to lasers, ultrasonic vibration, or any type of substance that
prevents proper ventilation and heat radiation of the IEX tiles.
• IEX tiles are not to be exposed to circumstances where moisture can condense or
collect on any components.
• Power connected to the IEX tiles must meet the specifications outlined in the
installation manual.
• Avoid any accidental bumping of the module corners while installing or removing the
IEX module. Since LED’s of the IEX modules are mounted near by the edges of the LED
boards, which is unavoidable in the design of a high resolution LED-wall, the corners
of the IEX modules become sensitive for mechanical damage. Because of that it is
required to handle the IEX modules with care at all times.
• Never place an IEX module upon a surface with the LED’s facing downwards without
protection. This to prevent damage to the LEDs and the soft lens of the LEDs.
• While removing or installing the IEX modules always keep the LED side of the IEX
module parallel with the LED side of the remaining neighboring IEX modules. This to
avoid any mechanical stress upon the corners of the IEX modules.

R5915190 /00 IEX
12 IEX SERIES
• No force can be applied to the LEDs. Any LEDs damaged due to mechanical stress
are not covered by the warranty.
• Safety and functional features of the display cannot be defeated.
• It is not allowed to climb or hang any additional equipment on the back of an IEX
wall. Nothing is to be allowed to hang from the cables of an IEX tile.
• Any failures must be immediately and appropriately dealt with (equipment returned
to Barco). Failing equipment cannot be left to run in a wall.
• No additional tools (hammers, pry-bars, etc.) are to be used to force handles or locks
into place. All moving parts should be managed by hand.
• Only Barco cables specified to be used with the IEX display are to be used to connect
components in the IEX wall. Further, care must be taken to connect signal only
according to the installation manual.
• IEX tiles are not to be used in the vicinity of any equipment that is not CE and UL/ETL
certified.
• When reconnecting components in an IEX tile, care must be taken to ensure that
cables are carefully routed according to the installation manual to prevent damage to
the cables or other parts of the IEX tile.
• IEX tiles can be cleaned only in accordance to the procedures defined in the
installation manual.
• The IEX display is an indoor product. Use the IEX tiles only in a dry area away from
direct sunlight, dust and moisture. Never install and use the IEX tiles in an outdoor
environment.
• Ensure rigging hardware is able to handle the weight of the entire IEX with
appropriate safety factors.
• Ensure good ventilation for the LED display when designing the heat dissipation
solution
• Switch off the power immediately and contact the professional personnel when the
LED display has any abnormal conditions such as peculiar smell, smoke, electric
leakage, and abnormal temperature.
• In case the LED display is not been powered on twice a per week for at least 2 hours
each time then the “Warm up procedure” as described in Chapter 5.4 has to be followed
precisely.

R5915190 /00 IEX
13 IEX SERIES
• Installing the LED display in the following places may result in an equipment failure
and reduce its lifespan: near the sea, in an area with salt and alkali or sulphurous gases,
near a kitchen exhaust position, or at a place where the difference between indoor and
outdoor temperatures is great. Consult our professional personnel at the service center
if the LED display must be installed in any of these places.
1.5 LED Display Humidity precautions
Overview
LED displays have recommended temperature and humidity ranges for storage and
operation. Use of the products in temperature or humidity ranges outside these
recommendations can cause temporary or permanent damages.
The SMD LEDs used on indoor LED displays are moisture sensitive components, the
smaller the size of the LEDs, the more sensitive the LEDs are for humidity due to their
structure and electric clearance, specifically a chip LED (used for pixel pitches of sub
2mm) is highly sensitive.
When the humidity is high, it might cause condensation on and in the LED.
Condensation on the LED is dangerous and can cause shortcircuits, dead LEDs and
other issues.
Therefore, customers should strictly follow the humidity precautions and start up
procedure when using the screen.
