4.2 Module Overview
Description of the Electronic Digital Scale
With the electronic digital scale, you have purchased a device that lets you comfortably
determine the weight of objects. The large weighing surface also enables weighing
voluminous objects. This is facilitated even more by the removable display, which can
bridge a distance of approx. 60 to 70 cm thanks to the spiral cable. The large LC display
with optional background illumination, automatic calibration and the option to switch the
display from kg to lb are just some of the highlights of this device. Via a hold function, it
is also possible to read the measuring value two minutes after removing the measured
object from the weighing surface. The device can also be operated with an optional
AC/DC adaptor (power pack). If you want to integrate the electronic scale into your IT
system, you can transfer the weighing data via an RS232 interface.

Place the objects to be weighed in the container. The "stable" indicator
appears when the value becomes stable.
Calibration
This scale is equipped with an automatic calibration function. Therefore, you actually
never have to calibrate the scale. If you think that the scale displays incorrect values,
you can use the manual calibration function to check whether the scale is inaccurate
and resolve this error. You might also want to calibrate the scale when commissioning it
for the first time or using the scale on a different altitude level or regions with a different
gravity level. This is required because the weight of a mass is not identical everywhere.
In addition, mechanical deviations may occur over time and after a longer period of use.
Calibrating the Scale
•You need a weight or a combination of weights with the exact maximum weight
indicated for the scale.
1. Turn the scale OFF. First press and hold
, then
press while keeping the
button depressed, and then let go of both buttons. The display now shows
the A/D value (an arbitrary sequence of numbers).
2. Wait until the display shows "stable”. Press kg/lb until the display shows
„SAVE 0“
. Afterwards, the display shows an arbitrary A/D value again.
3. Place the weights for the highest possible weight on the weighing surface. Wait
until the display shows "stable" and then press kg/lb. The display now shows
„SAVE 1“
. Now the scale is calibrated. Remove the weights.
4. Turn the scale off by pressing , then turn it on again and test some weights. If
the scale is still not calibrated correctly, repeat this process, but slower this time.
•
If calibration is still not successful:
•Replace the batteries (meaning the ENTIRE set!).
•Try a more stable surface or surroundings with fewer vibrations or other sources
of interference.
•Make sure that the weighing surface is not statically charged. For this purpose,
touch the casing of the scale and at the same time a grounded, non-lacquered,
metal object in your home, e.g. a radiator.
