Dear customer
Please familiarize yourself with the proper
usage of the device by reading and following
each chapter of this manual, in the order
presented. Keep these operating instruc-
tions for further reference.
Please read all safety instructions!
This manual contains important information
on operating and handling the device. Keep
these operating instructions for further
reference. Please pass it on along with the
unit if it is handed over to a third party.
1. Safety instructions
This appliance can be used by chil-
dren aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and under-
stand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the
appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children with-
out supervision.
2. General safety instructions for
power tools

Failure to follow all instructions
listed below may result in electric
shock, re and/or serious injury.
The term “power tool” in all of the warnings
listed below refers to your mains operated
(corded) power tool or battery operated
(cordless) power tool.



as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes,
hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce per-

Carrying power tools with

power tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.

wrench or a key left attached to a rotat-
ing part of the power tool may result in
personal injury.
 
This enables
better control of the power tool in unex-
pected situations.

3. Additional safety warnings
Please read this manual carefully
and use the unit only according to
this manual.
• Dispose of used packaging material
carefully or store it out of the reach of
children. There is a danger of
suffocation!
• Make sure the main voltage corre-
sponds to the voltage stated on the
type label.
• Only use the Maxxre for the intended
use of lighting charcoal, not for drying
clothes or other objects.
• Persons with limited physical, sensorial
or mental abilities are not allowed to
use the Maxxre, unless they are super-
vised and briefed for their safety by a
qualied person.
• Never leave the switched on Maxxre
unattended and keep it out of reach of
children and persons in need of
supervision.
The heating element and the nozzle
of the Maxxre will become very
hot during use. Please be careful
not to burn yourself!
• Please note that the Maxxre is still hot
after switching off. There is risk of burn
and re hazard!
• Be careful when using the Maxxre near
ammable or easy fusible materials
such as plastics or glass. Do not direct
the Maxxre for long time at the same
place. Never point the running Maxxre
to people, animals, plants, ammable
objects or liquids.
Do not use the Maxxre in Rain and
do not allow liquids of any kind to
enter the Maxxre.
• Do not use the Maxxre in explosive
atmosphere.
• Keep the air slots and the nozzle clean
to avoid overheating the Maxxre and to
prevent from re hazard.
• Should the Maxxre become damaged
do not use it any further and have it
repaired by a professional or contact
our customer service. Do not disassem-

ble the Maxxre or try repairing it
yourself.
• This appliance is not intended for use
by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
• The appliance is only to be used with
the power supply unit provided with the
appliance.
• Ensure that the re lighter is properly
positioned.
• Allow to cool before storage.
• Do not allow the hot parts of the re
lighter to touch the cord or other am-
mable materials.
4. Safety Notes for the Battery, the
Power Supply and the Charger
• Make sure the main voltage corre-
sponds to the voltage stated on the
type label. Only plug the battery charger
to 100 – 240 VDC mains power.
• Only use the battery and the charger
included in delivery with the Maxxre.
• Keep the battery, if not inserted into the
Maxxre and not in use, away from
metal objects such as paper clips,
coins, keys, nails and the likes, which
might short-circuit the terminals.
• Upon incorrect use, liquid may leak
from the battery. Avoid contact with this
liquid. Wash the skin with water. If the
eyes are contaminated, consult a physi-
cian immediately.
• A defective or worn battery must be
disposed of in accordance with the
relevant regulations.
• Do not submerge the battery in water or
burn it. There is a danger of explosion!
• Immediately replace a defective battery
(i. e. defective case).
• The power supply unit is specially
designed for use with the Maxxre. Do
not attempt to charge/use with other
devices. Do not attempt to charge the
battery with other types of charger.
• If the battery charger is not in use,
unplug it from power mains. Also
unplug while cleaning or maintaining
the charger or power supply unit.
• Only charge, operate and store the bat-
tery at an ambient temperature
between 10ºC and 40ºC.
• Protect battery and battery charger
from humidity. Do not operate the bat-
tery charger out-doors.
• Take special care of the battery. Avoid
dropping it onto any hard surface and
do not subject it to pressure or any
other form of mechanical stress. Keep
the battery away from extreme heat and
cold.
• The unit is designed for operation in
altitudes of up to 2000m above sea
level.
• Do not open or attempt to repair the
battery or the battery charger. If any
parts are dam-aged, have them repaired
by a qualied technician or contact our
customer service.
• Use power tools only with specically
designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and re.
• When disposing of batteries, follow the
instructions given in the section
“Disposal”.
• If the power tool is to be stored unused
for a long period, the battery should be
removed
• Important Danger! Never short-circuit
the battery or expose it to moisture. Do
not store it together with any metal
parts which could short-circuit the con-
tacts. The battery could overheat, start
burning or explode.

5. Intended Use
The Maxxre is intended for lighting char-
coal. The coals are ignited with the heating
wires, after that the embers are fanned with
the built-in fan until the embers glow well.
For best results, please make sure that
small pieces of charcoal are touching the
heating wire sufciently.
If you want to use briquettes for grilling,
please light up a small amount of charcoal
rst before adding the briquettes for opti-
mum embers.
6. Use
6.1 Operate the switch (5) to turn on the
Maxxre. The fan will start blowing.

6.2 Push and hold the plunger (2) to extend
the heating element (1). While the heat-
ing element is extended the fan stops.

6.3 The extended heating element activates
automatically. 
6.4 Do not touch the hot heating wires!

6.5 Hold the plunger (2) and push the
extended heating element (1) into the
coals with the glowing wires. Make sure
only the heating element is inserted into
the coals. 
6.6 After a few minutes the coals over the
heating wires start to glow. 
6.7 Allow the plunger (2) to slide back out.
The heating element (1) retracts into
the housing. 
6.8 Fan the embers with the air stream of
the Maxxre. Do not leave the Maxxre
unattended! 
6.9 Continue fanning the embers until all
coals are lighted. 
7. Charging and inserting the
Battery
Connect the power adaptor of the charger
to a suitable wall socket. The LED on the
charger lights up green. Insert the battery
into the charger. Make sure the battery is
correctly aligned. The LED on the charger
light up red, after the battery is fully charged
the LED switches back to green.
Insert the battery into the handle of the
Maxxre. Make sure the battery is correctly
aligned. The battery must snap into place
with an audible click. Do not use force. If the
battery can not be inserted, check the align-
ment and try again.
To remove the battery press the locking
latches at the sides of the battery and pull
the battery out of the handle of the
Maxxre.
8. Maintenance, Cleaning and
Storing
Before cleaning the Maxxre allow it to fully
cool down. Clean the Maxxre with a dry or
soft moistened cloth. Never use abrasives
or aggressive chemicals. Do not allow liq-
uids to enter the Maxxre and do not
immerse the Maxxre into liquids of any
kind.
Keep the air inlet and the nozzle clean at all
times.
Store the Maxxre indoors in a dry place
that is protected from dust, dirt and extreme
temperatures and of reach of children.

10. Disposal
Do not dispose of electric power
tools with domestic refuse.
The electric power tool is shipped in
packaging to reduce transport damage.
This packaging is a raw material and as
such can either be reused or can be fed
back into the raw material cycle. The elec-
tric power tool and its accessories are made
from various materials such as metals and
plastics. Take defective components to a
special refuse collection point. Ask about
these at your specialist shop or local
council.
 
Think of the environment when disposing of
batteries. Contact your local authorities to
nd out where your nearest disposal area is.
Do not dispose of batteries with domestic
refuse.
Do not dispose of by burning, risk of
explosion.
