Remote Control (Cont.)
Using the Remote Control
• Place two AAA size batteries (supplied) in the remote control’s battery
compartment, making sure to match the polarity markings inside the
compartment.
• When using the remote control, aim it at the remote control sensor at
the front of the unit. Make sure there are no large obstacles between the
remote control and the main unit.
• Do not drop the remote control unit; do not subject it to physical shocks.
• Bright sunlight or lightning may cause erratic operation.
• Use of the unit near fluorescent lighting may cause interference when using
the remote control. If the unit is displaying erratic behaviour, move it away
from any fluorescent lighting.
• Keep the remote control dry. Wetting it may cause malfunction.
• Replace the batteries when remote control operation deteriorates.
Battery Precautions
Always follow the precautions below when using batteries:
CAUTION: Danger of explosion! Ensure to insert batteries according to the
polarity markings.
• Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to installation.
• Replace all batteries at the same time with fresh batteries of the same size
and type.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, different types of battery (alkaline,
carbon-zinc or rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of different
capacities. Mixing different types of battery could cause leakage or
rupture.
• Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for a long time to avoid
leakage. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts.
• Dispose of batteries promptly and properly, observing any local hazardous
waste regulations. Do not burn or bury them.
• Note that there are chargeable and nonchargeable batteries. Do not
attempt to charge nonchargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries away from children. If you suspect a battery may have been
swallowed, seek immediate medical assistance.
• Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or
the like.
