Using the remote control
• Place two AAA size batteries (supplied) in the remote control’s battery
compartment, making sure to match the polarity markings inside the
compartment.
• When using the remote control, aim it at the remote control sensor at
the front of the unit. Make sure there are no large obstacles between the
remote control and the main unit.
• Do not drop the remote control unit; do not subject it to physical shocks.
• Bright sunlight or lightning may cause erratic operation.
• Useoftheunitnearuorescentlightingmaycauseinterferencewhenusing
the remote control. If the unit is displaying erratic behaviour, move it away
fromanyuorescentlighting.
• Keep the remote control dry. Wetting it may cause malfunction.
• Replace the batteries when remote control operation deteriorates.
Battery precautions
Always follow the precautions below when using batteries:
CAUTION: Danger of explosion! Ensure to insert batteries according to the
polarity markings.
• Clean the battery contacts and those of the device prior to installation.
• Replace all batteries at the same time with fresh batteries of the same size
and type.
• Donotmixoldandnewbatteries,dierenttypesofbattery(alkaline,
carbon-zincorrechargeable),orrechargeablebatteriesofdierent
capacities.Mixingdierenttypesofbatterycouldcauseleakageor
rupture.
• Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for a long time to avoid
leakage. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts.
• Dispose of batteries promptly and properly, observing any local hazardous
waste regulations. Do not burn or bury them.
• Note that there are chargeable and nonchargeable batteries. Do not
attempt to charge nonchargeable batteries.
• Keep batteries away from children. If you suspect a battery may have been
swallowed, seek immediate medical assistance.

Warranty Details
The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts
for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur
within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired,
replaced or refunded at our discretion, solely at our option with no charge for
partsandlabour.Thebenetsconferredbythiswarrantyareinadditiontoall
rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer has under
the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and territory laws.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the
Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a
major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss
or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the
goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a

Electrical safety and cord handling
• Protect from moisture: Do not expose this equipment, the power supply
cord and plug to rain or moisture; do not use it anywhere near water or where
water splashes or drips; do not touch the power plug with wet hands.
• Do not open: To prevent contact with high voltage components inside, do
not attempt to open the equipment. Do not repair the unit yourself; there are
nouser-serviceablepartsinside.Onlyhaveitservicedbyqualiedpersonnel.
• Plug replacement: When replacing the unit’s power plug or cord, the
replacement must be exactly the same or one recommended by the
manufacturer. Do not replace the plug or cord yourself.
• Voltage: Before installing this equipment, make sure your outlet voltage
corresponds to the voltage stated on the appliance rating label.
• Cord and plug: Only use this equipment with the cord and plug supplied.
Align the plug properly and insert it fully. Do not overload the power outlet.
• Damaged cord: When the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

• Protect the power cord: Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or

General Safety Instructions (Cont.)
• Power socket: This equipment can only be disconnected from the power
supply by unplugging it from the mains socket. Make sure the mains socket
is readily accessible at all times.
• Disconnect: Unplug the unit when it is not going to be used for a while.
This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and powerline
surges. Grasp the plug, not the cord, when disconnecting.
Usage conditions and restrictions
• Installation: When installing the unit, make sure to place it:
• In a well ventilated area. Do not build it into a frame.
• Away from heat sources, radiators or other products that produce heat.
• Away from areas with high temperatures, high humidity or direct sunlight.
• Away from excess dirt and dust.
• Away from open windows and any place where water or metal objects
may get into the unit and damage it.
• Instructions: Follow the instructions in this manual when installing and
adjusting this equipment. Improper use or installation may result in the risk
ofre,electricshockand/orinjury.
• Adjustments: Only adjust those controls that are covered in this manual,
as improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage. If this
happens, unplug the equipment and have it professionally serviced.
• Attachments: Do not use any attachments that are not recommended by
the product manufacturer.
• Usage restriction: The equipment is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the equipment by a person responsible for

• Children: Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play
with the equipment. Close supervision is always necessary when electric or
electronic equipment is used by or near children.
• Location: Place the product on a straight, rigid and stable surface.
• Ventilation: Openings on the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to

• Clearance: Allow at least 10cm spacing at the back and top of the product,
and 5cm on both sides, to prevent overheating.
• Protect the equipment: Prevent metal objects falling into the equipment.
Do not place heavy objects on top of the equipment or step on it. Do not
placeobjectslledwithwater,ornakedamesources,ontopoftheunit.
• Cleaning: Unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning. Clean the
unit only with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners or
volatile solvents. Do not use insecticides near the equipment.
• Service/Repair: If the unit has been damaged, have it serviced or repaired
byqualiedpersonnelonly.Contactouraftersalessupportlineforadvice.
• Liability: We accept no liability for any damage or lost data caused by non-
compliance with these instructions or mishandling of the equipment.
• Interference: Since movement of the CD mechanism and the sensitive
circuitry may cause interference to nearby radio equipment we recommend
youswitchthisunitowhileoperatingotherradiodevices.
• Failure to operate: If the unit fails to operate properly, it may not be a
malfunction but due to the complexity of the internal software. In such a
case, unplug the unit from the mains power supply and wait a few minutes
before reconnecting it.

Getting Started
Installation
• Unpack the product and remove protective material. Keep all packaging
materials until you have made sure your new Hi-Fi System is undamaged
andingoodworkingorder.Plasticwrappingcanbeasuocationhazard
for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of
their reach.
• Inspect the cord and plug for damage. Do not use the product if the cord or
plug have been damaged or are not working properly.
• Do not cover any vents and make sure to keep a space of several
centimetres around the unit for ventilation.
• Connect the speaker wire connector to the speaker terminal at the back of the
unit. Make sure to connect the red wire to the [ + ] terminal and the red/black
wire to the [ - ] terminal.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains power supply until you have made sure
that your outlet voltage and circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated
on the product rating label and before all connections have been made.
Switching On
• Connect the power cord to a properly earthed AC outlet.
• Press the POWER switch to turn on the unit: the LCD display and power
indicator will illuminate, indicating that power is supplied to the unit.
• Inpoweronstate,pressthePOWERswitchtoturntheunito.
Clock Setting
• Switch on the unit as described above, then use the remote control to set
the clock. It can be set to a 12 or 24-hour cycle.
• Press and hold the CLOCK button: the display will show 12 or 24 hr.
• Use the / buttons to select the desired clock cycle, then press the
CLOCKbuttonagaintoconrm.
• PressandholdtheCLOCKbuttonuntilthehourdigitsstartashing.Then
use the / buttons to set the correct hour.
• Press and hold the CLOCK button again until the minute digits start
ashing.Thenusethe / buttons to set the correct minute.
• After a few seconds, the clock will display the current time.

Timer Setting
Usethistimersettingtoturnonandoatyoursettimewiththesoundsof
your favourite CD or radio program.
• Press the TIMER button to enter Timer Program mode: the LCD will show
"TR-ON"andthehourvalueoftheclockwillstartashing.
• Use the / buttons to set the desired hour you want the unit to turn on.
• Press the TIMER button again: the minute value of the clock will start
ashing.
• Use the / buttons to set the desired minute for the timer to come on.
• Press the TIMER button again until "TR-OFF" is displayed on the LCD and
thehourvalueoftheclockisashing.
• Use the / buttonstosetthedesiredhouryouwanttheunittoturno.
• Press the TIMER button again: the minute value of the clock will start
ashing.
• Use the / buttonstosetdesiredminutefortheunittoturno.
• Press the TIMER button again to set the timer-on input source.
• Use the / buttons to select the input source.
• Press the TIMER button again to set the timer-on volume level.
• Use the / buttons to select the desired volume level.
• PresstheTIMERbuttonagaintoconrmallthesettings.
Sleep Setting
Use this sleep setting to preset a time (from 10 to 90 minutes) after which the
system goes into standby mode.
• Press the SLEEP button: the LCD will show the minutes remaining.
• Press the SLEEP button again to set the desired time period after which you
wanttheunittototurno.Youcansetthesleeptimein10-minutesteps up
to 90 minutes.
• When the countdown has started, "SLEEP" will show on the LCD.
• Press the SLEEP button again to cancel the sleep setting.

Volume Control
You can adjust the sound level with the remote control or directly on the unit.
• On the remote control, press the VOL+ button to increase the volume, press
the VOL- button to decrease the volume.
• On the main unit, rotate the VOLUME knob to adjust the
sound level.
CAUTION: Exposure to music at loud volume can
permanently damage your hearing. Make
sure to adjust the volume level appropriately
to prevent potential hearing damage.
Muting the sound
• Press the MUTE button to mute the sound temporarily.
• Press the MUTE button again, or rotate the VOLUME knob, to restore the
sound to the previously set level.
Preset Equaliser
Thisunitprovidesfourdierentsoundmodestoenhanceyourlistening
experience. Press the EQ button to select from the following options:
• ROCK: Bass sounds are emphasised with some stress on the treble range.
• JAZZ: Bass and middle range (voice) sounds are emphasised.
• CLASSIC: Voice and middle range sounds are emphasised, with some
emphasis on bass sounds.
• FLAT: The bass, middle and treble levels have equal emphasis.
Headphone Jack
• For private listening, insert a stereo headphone with a plug diameter
of 3.5mm into the headphone jack at the front of the main unit. Upon
connection, sound output to the speakers will be disconnected
automatically.
• Use the above methods to adjust the volume level of the headphone.

Radio Operation
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the TUNER
button on the remote control, to select TUNER mode.
• Use the TU. / TU. buttons to tune into the desired station.
• Adjust the volume and preset equaliser (refer to page 10) to suit your
personal listening preference.
Presetting radio stations
You can store up to a total of 30 FM radio stations in the memory.
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the TUNER
button on the remote control, to select TUNER mode.
• Press and hold the TU. / TU. button until you have found the desired
station.
• Press the PROG button, then use the / buttons to select the desired
memory preset number, then press the PROG button again to save the
radio station to the memory preset.
• Repeat the above two steps until you have saved all desired radio stations
to a memory preset. You can overwrite a preset station by storing another
frequency in its place.
Listening to a preset station
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the TUNER
button on the remote control, to select TUNER mode.
• Use the numeric or / buttons to navigate through stored presets.
Antenna adjustment
• Unravel the FM antenna wire at the back of the main unit and extend it to its
full length for best reception.

Cassette Tape Operation
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the TAPE
button on the remote control, to select TAPE mode.
• Adjust the volume and preset equaliser (refer to page 10) to suit your
personal listening preference.
• Use the cassette function buttons for playback control in TAPE mode. For
basic tape playback, proceed as follows:
• Open the cover below the tape decks.
• Depress the button to open the tape compartment.
• Gently tighten the tape, as loose tapes can cause trouble.
• Insert the cassette with the tape facing downwards.
• Shut the tape compartment until it locks audibly.
• Depress the button, until it locks, to play the tape.
• Press the button to interrupt playback.
• Press the button to stop playback.
• Press the key again to open the tape compartment.
Auto-stop function
Whenthetapehasreachedtheend,thetapedeckwillswitchoautomatically.
Extended play
To play two tapes in succession, load a cassette tape in each tape deck.
• Press the button for each tape deck, then press the button for Deck A.
• ThetapeinDeckBwillbeplayedrst.Attheend,thetapewillstopandthe
tape in Deck A will start playing automatically.
Recording to tape
When recording observe copyright law. If in doubt consult a lawyer.
Use the following cassette function buttons for recording.
Recording Play
Rewind Fast Forward Stop, Open
NOTE: You cannot record on Chromium (IEC II) or Metal (IEC IV) tapes.
Only use NORMAL Ferro Tapes (IECI) for recording.

Recording controls
Assourceforrecordingyoucanusetheradio,aCD,MP3le,arecording
storedonaUSBashdrive,themicrophoneoranothercassettetape.
• Insert the tape you want to record on into Deck A.
• Press the button.
• Press the button, the button will automatically go down.
• Press the FUNCTION button and choose the required source.
• To start recording press the button again.
• To interrupt or stop recording press either the or the button.
NOTE: Youcannotinuencetherecordingwiththevolumecontrolor
equaliser setting.
High-speed dubbing from Deck B to Deck A
This unit is equipped with a high speed dubbing system which can save you
time when dubbing from one cassette tape to another. Dubbing is performed
only one way from Deck B (playback) to Deck A (recording).
• Press the TAPE NORMAL/HIGH button on the main unit.
• Put the source tape into Deck B and the target tape into Deck A.
• Press the button for both decks.
• Press the button for Deck A, then the button for Deck B.
• To start dubbing press the buttons on both decks again.
• To stop dubbing press the STOP button for both decks.
Tape protection
• To protect your tapes against unwanted erasure or
overwriting, remove the tab in the top of the cassette.
You can cover the hole later with tape, if you decide to
overwrite it anyway.
• Keep tapes away from magnets and electromagnetic
elds,suchastransformers,loudspeakers,TVsets.
• Keep tapes in a box to protect from dust and humidity.
• Do not keep tapes where they are exposed to extreme cold and hot
temperatures, as plastic parts can break or melt in such conditions.
• Note that tapes with long play time (90min, 120min) are thinner. They might
stick to the rubber pressure roller or break easily.

Recording from CD/USB/SD
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly and choose the
appropriate mode you want to record from (DISC or USB/SD).
• Insert a blank cassette tape suitable for recording in Deck A.
• Press the PAUSE buttonrstandthentheRECORD and PLAY
button at the cassette deck. The recording function is now on standby.
• Start playback of your CD or USB/SD source, then press the PAUSE
button at the cassette deck to start recording.
• Tostoprecording,presstheSTOPbuttonforthesourcemoderst,then
press the PAUSE and the STOP/EJECT button at the deck.
Recording from turntable
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the PHONO
button on the remote control, to select PHONO mode.
• Insert a blank cassette tape suitable for recording in Deck A.
• Press the RECORD and PLAY button to start recording.
• Select the desired record and start playback.
• Press the PAUSE and then the STOP/EJECT button at the cassette
deckwhennished.
CD Player Operation
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the CD button
on the remote control, to select DISC mode.
• Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray, place a CD on the tray
and close the CD door.
• Adjust the volume and preset equaliser (refer to page 10) to suit your
personal listening preference.
• Use the CD/MP3 function buttons for playback control in DISC mode. For
basic CD playback, proceed as follows:
• PLAY/PAUSE - Press this button to start playing a CD. Pressing this
button during playback will stop playback temporarily; to restart, press this
button once again.
• STOP - Press this button to stop CD playback.
• SKIP/SEARCH - Press this button to skip to the next track.
• - Press this button to quickly advance through the track.

• - Press this button to skip to the start of the track currently played.
Press it again to go to the previous track.
• - Press this button to quickly rewind.
• REPEAT - Press this button to select or cancel repeat play mode.
• PROGRAM - Use this button when storing track numbers to be played into
the memory. Maximum capacity is 20.
Programming tracks for playback
• Select DISC mode (as previously described).
• Place a disc in the CD tray, then close the CD tray.
• Press the STOP button to stop automatic playback.
• Press the PROG button on the remote control to start the program memory.
The "PROG" indicator will illuminate.
• To input the desired track number, use the / or numeric buttons and
then press the PROG button again to save and program the next track.
• Onceyouhavenishedprogramming,pressthePLAY/PAUSEbuttonto
start the programmed playback.
• To erase your program, press the STOP button while playing the program.
(The"PROG"indicatorshouldbeowhentheprogramiscancelled,ifitis
still illuminated, press the PROG button to cancel the program.)
Repeat modes
• Press the REPEAT button on the remote control to select a repeat mode.
The“REP”indicatorwillstartashingandthecurrenttrackwillbeplayed
over and over until cancelled.
• To repeat all tracks on the disc, press the REPEAT button again; the “REP”
indicator will be steady and all tracks on the disc will be played repeatedly
until cancelled.
• To stop repeat mode, press the REPEAT button again; the “REP” indicator
willgooandtheunitwillresumenormalplaybackmode.
CD protection
• To keep discs clean, always handle a disc by its edge. Do not touch the
disc surface.
• Do not stick paper or write anything on the surface.
• After playing, store the disc in its case.

Turntable (Phono) Operation
Important! Before using the turntable:
• Make sure to remove the stylus protector, as
illustratedontheright.Itshouldeasilyslideo
the stylus assembly.
• Make sure to detach the tone arm from the
tone arm rest before use and secure it again
afterwards.
• Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly, or the PHONO
button on the remote control, to select PHONO mode.
• Set the RPM SPEED selector to the appropriate position (33 or 45),
depending on the type of record to be played.
• Place the record on the platter (use the spindle adaptor, if required).
• Liftthetonearmotherestandslowlymoveitto
the record side, as illustrated on the right. The platter
will start rotating.
• Carefully place the tone arm to the desired position
on the record.
• Press the VOLUME UP/DOWN button to adjust to
your desired volume level.
• At the end of the record, the platter will automatically stop rotating.
Lift the tone arm from the record and return it to the rest position.
• To stop playback before the end of the record, lift the tone arm from the
record and return it to the rest.
NOTE: Some records may stop playback before the end of the last track. If
thishappens,settheAUTOSTOPswitchtothe“O”positionsothe
record will play to the end. However, with the switch in this position
the record will not stop automatically. To stop the turntable rotating,
pressthePOWERON/STANDBYbuttontoswitchotheunitor
