OPERATORS GUIDE
1) Safety
Before operating the BECCA SOLVENT SAVER™, read the Instruction Manual completely. All BECCA products are
engineered and manufactured to the highest performance standards and have been subjected to detailed testing before
shipment from the factory.

2) Operation
1. Before filling the Recycler, place a new Recycler Bag in the Tank. Fold the excess
bag material down over the ring. Be sure to keep the bag clear of the loading fitting.
2. Turn the Unloading Valve on the Recycler and pump used solvent waste into
Recycler 1 to 2 inches below Recycler Bag Ring.
3. Pour Paint waste into Recycler –Make sure to stir waste paint in Recycler bag to
dilute the concentration.
Add no more than 430 oz. of paint solids to a 17.5 gal unit or there will be
efficiency losses.
Caution!Larger amounts of Paint will reduce the capabilities of the unit.
This is due to the large heat sink created by the excess solid material.
4. The system will initially be set at 350 ºF for 4 hours at 100% power.
Adjustments (see Instruction Manual) to the time may be required depending
on the types of solvents, type of paint, the painter’s waste levels, and the
desired consistency of the Waste material.
5. Assure there is an empty metal container under the tube coming from the
Condenser.
WARNING!Make sure the ground strap is attached.


6. Push the Start button. The cycle is now initiated. The system
display will show:
Set Temperature Current Temperature Remaining Time
7. We recommend not opening the unit after the cycle is completed for 1 –
3 ½ Hours or the Temperature is below 150 °F (Depends on
temperature, time, and the amount of solid waste). This allows the unit
to cool down.
8. The resulting ‘Still Bottom’ will range in
consistency from slurry to a marshmallow. All
of this is again dependent on the types of
solvents, type of paint, and the painter’s waste
levels and Recycler settings (Time &
Temperature).
9. Dispose of the ‘Still Bottom’ in an approved
Hazardous Waste container and assure proper
labeling.
10. You are now ready for the next cycle of the process.
3) Troubleshooting
1. Error Code “CHK COND SENSOR” – Condenser thermocouple is disconnected or defective. See “Instruction Manual”
2. Error Code “CHK TANK SENSOR” – Tank thermocouple is disconnected or defective. See “Instruction Manual”
3. Error Code “CHECK HEATER” – Appears 10 min after the cycle has started if the temperature of the tank did not
increase by 20°F or more. See “Instruction Manual”
4. Error Code “OUTLET TOO HOT” – The temperature of the clean solvent going out of the condenser exceeds 110°F for
more than 30 seconds. See “Instruction Manual”
5. Weak Solvent
-This is from the Cleaning process causing evaporation of “Acetone”. Add “Acetone” – typical solvent used in
solvent formulations that starts to evaporate at 80ºF and Boils at 130ºF.
-Water in the solvent –This will weaken the solvent potency.
4) Maintenance
1. Each Use - Replace Recycler Bag. Use only BECCA Recycler Bags to
assure performance 617017- 25 (25 PK), 617017- 50 (50 PK)
or 617017-100 (100 PK)
- Remove any contaminants from the bottom of the Boiler
2. Each day - Wipe-down the unit with solvent. The paint and decals
are solvent resistant.
- Remove any contaminants from the bottom of the Boiler
3. Semi- Annually - Blow off condenser (externally) to
remove dust and dirt
- Replace BECCA Protect™ Maintenance Coating (831004)
- Review Ground Clamp (823079K)
4. Annually - Replace Seal (171835)
- Blow out Condenser (internally)
- Review & Replace any illegible or damaged Decals
