up gel duplicating material. Any other use is
not regarded as proper. We shall not be liable for
damage resulting from improper use.
Improper use includes, for example, heating water
or other liquids or food!
The safety instructions must be followed in order
to prevent injury to persons or damage to
equipment. We shall not be liable for injury or
damage due to the failure to comply with the safety
instructions.
General safety instructions
lPlace of use
The unit has been designed solely for use in
dental laboratories and comparable
establishments for research, commercial and
training purposes. • The unit may only be
installed on an adequately stable surface. • The
unit must only be used in dry rooms.
lOperator and operating personnel
The unit must only be operated by dental
professionals, or they must provide supervision
if trainees or other persons operate unit. •
Wear the protective clothing prescribed for use
in dental laboratories and observe the rules of
conduct. • The unit may only be operated by
staff members who are familiar with and follow
the instructions of this operating manual. •
The operating manual must be easily
accessible when the machine is operated. •
Observe the national accident prevention
regulations in addition to this operating
manual.
lHandling the machine
Prior to connection to the power supply check
whether the specifications on the rating plate
correspond to the supply network. In the case
of uncertainty, consult an electrician. • The
unit is categorised under protection class 1
and may only be connected to properly earthed
power sources (earth contact sockets). •
Modifications of the machine are not
permitted. • Always keep signs and stickers
such that they are easy to read. They must not
be removed. • Check the machine and leads
for damage regularly. The machine must not
be operated if it has any defects that may result
in risks for the employees or third persons. •
Protect the leads against heat, oil and sharp
edges. The leads must not be used to carry the
machine or to pull out the mains plug.

Gelovit 200 is used to melt and store gel duplicating
material. The temperature of the duplicating material
can be constantly read off an electronic display.
lLowerable operating temperature *
Gelovit 200 is equipped with an electronic temperature
control. The automatic melting system starts after the
duplicating material is inserted at the push of button
: the material is melted and subsequently cooled
down to the operating temperature “T2”. By pressing
button , the temperature can be brought closer to
the reduced operating temperature “T3” within
approx. 20 minutes and contraction due to hardening
can thus be prevented. Because duplicating material
can be kept above the gelling temperature without
clumps occurring only for a short time, it is automati-
cally heated up to the operating temperature “T2”
again after 10 minutes.
lProvision time
The melting and cooling down of 6 kg of duplicating
material to the operating temperature takes 3 - 4
hours, depending on the duplicating material used and
the manufacturer.
lBuilt-in timer
By means of a timer, the unit can be set for the night
so that duplicating material is available at operating
temperature at the beginning of the next working day.
lQuality assurance
Gelovit 200 makes an important contribution to quality
assurance because the number of quality-reducing
melting operations can be monitored (see instructions
in section on “Operation”).
lSafety in the event of power failure
In the event of a temporary power failure, the micro-
processor registers the last operating mode and
continues the setting last selected. It is melted again
only when the duplication material has cooled down
below the reduced operating temperature „T3“.
lThe temperatures are factory-set to 93°C for
melting, 42°C for processing and 39°C for working at
reduced operating temperature. The temperatures can
be varied and thus adapted to the duplicating material
used. For BEGO’s duplicating materials Castogel®and
Wirodouble®we recommend the factory-set tempera-
tures. The settings have to be changed for the BEGO
duplicating material Wirogel M (see „Check set
temperatures“ in section on Operation).
