2.2 Maintenance activities
2.2.1 Frame
The frame is powder-coated or black zinc plated. To prevent any rust forming it is important to regularly
clean the frame. If you want to conserve the frame with grease, only use acid free substances. You can
treat damaged areas with paint.
2.2.2 Wheels/tires
Regularly check the rims and tires for any damage (for example cuts, cracks and bulges).
Attention: damaged rims and tires can lead to accidents! The correct tire pressure is shown on the
outside of the tires (22PSI / 1,5BAR). If the tires are at the correct pressure the product will be light and
easy to handle. If the pressure is too low, the tires will leak quicker and will suer excessive wear and tear.
If the tire pressure is too high, the tire can for example, come away from the rim, resulting in danger-
ous situations. Attention: remember that in bright sunlight and at high temperatures the tire pressure
increases! The tires must not come into contact with oil, grease or fuel. Make sure that the valve caps are
always tted on the valves.
2.2.3 Steering
The steering equipment must be checked every month for the following:
• Damage and/or wear and tear to steering equipment.
• All the nuts and bolts must be tightened.
Check alligment of the smallest deection of the left and the right wheel with the
front bumper 1a and 1b. Loose the steering swivel at the side of the wheel with the smallest deection.
Than push the wheel away from the bumper. After that tighten the steering swivel well.

2.2.4 Driving mechanism
2.2.4.1 Chain
The product has a driving mechanism with two chains. Make sure that the chains are suciently oiled
so that they can travel freely. If a chain is too tightly tensioned, the gokart will be more dicult to pedal
and there is a big chance that wear and tear of the chains and sprocket, among other things, will occur
faster. If a chain is not tight enough, then the chain can easily come o the sprocket, or there is a chance
of damage to the chain housing. When both chains must be tensioned, always begin with the rear/short
chain.
Tensioning the front chain:
• Loosen the bolts on the underside of the frame.
• Tension the chain by moving the crank axle forwards.
• Tighten the bolts again.
• It must be possible to push the middle of the chain downwards by 10 millimeters. To check this you
must remove the lower half of the chain housing.

To tension the rear chain:
• Remove the protective hood and loose the nuts of the hub.
• Tension the chain by moving the hub forward. Make sure that the hub remains exactly parallel to the
rear axle.
• Tighten the hub nuts again.
• The chain has the correct tension if the middle can be pushed 6 millimeters downwards.

2.2.4.2 Crank adjustment (when running in a new product)
After using the new product for several days (intensive use) or for up to two weeks (normal use) after
purchase, the mounting bolts with which the left and right cranks are mounted must be tightened again
(see illustration below). Note that they must be ‘hand tightened’, that is to say with a tightening moment
of 30 Nm at the maximum (It is a normal eect that after a short period of use, as a result of the force
applied to the pedals, the crank assembly settles). A secondary eect of this is that a certain amount of
play can occur, which can lead to damage to the crank and the crank axle. This play can be taken up by
tightening the bolts further.
2.2.4.3 Dierent types of hubs
Brake freewheel (BF-R)
The brake freewheel works like a back-pedalling brake and has a neutral. The brake freehweel can be put
in reverse. The tension of the chain has to be checked every six months.
Brake freewheel BF-3
The gears should be tuned at least every six months. This is be done in the following way.
Remove the back hood to see little black box at the end of the cable. With this box the cable length can
be adjusted. With the handle turned to the third gear, the chain has the correct tension if the middle can
be pushed 2mm downwards. Check if the outside cable is far enough into the bushes at both ends and
whether there are no kinks in the cable. In order to tighten the cable (for example when rst gear is not
working) the end of the chain is pushed further into the box. In order to loosen the cable (for example if
the third gear is not working) the lip at the end of the box is pushed in to release the chain.
2.2.5 Plastic
The plastic must be checked regularly for damage and breakage. In the case of
breakage you must immediately replace the part concerned with an original part, in order to guarantee
the safety of the user.
