REQUIRED ACCESSORIES
•7mm Pen Mandrel
•3/8"DrillBit
• 2-piece bushing set (AZ 306)
•3/8” Barrel Trimmer or Squaring Jig with Barrel Trimming Sleeve Set
•2-part epoxy glue or CA (cyanoacrylate) glue
PREPARING THE BLANK
•Cut a blank to the length of the tube and add 1/16” for squaring off.
•Drill 3/8" center hole lengthwise through the blank.
•Glue the brass tube in the blank. Spread the glue on the tube. Insert into the blank with a
twisting motion to spread the glue evenly inside. Center the tube lengthwise in the blank. Allow it
to dry.
•After the glue dries, use a 3/8" Barrel Trimmer or a Squaring Jig to square the ends of the
blank flush with the ends of the brass tube
TURNING THE BLANK
•If you are using a mandrel with a nut on the end, spacer bushings may be needed to take up
additional space. If you are using a mandrel saver with your mandrel, than just slide a bushing
onto the mandrel, wide end first. Insert the blank and follow with the second bushing (narrow
end first). Bring the tailstock up with the mandrel saver and snug against the bushing.
•Turn the blank down to the bushings located at the ends of the blank. Carefully sand the
blank, not sanding the bushings.
•Finish the barrel with the finish of your choice.

ASSEMBLY
•Unscrew the nib tip from the nib assembly.
•Press the nib assembly into the front of the barrel. DO NOT press the nib tip and the
assembly into the front of the barrel as one piece. If you do press this as one piece,
you may damage the nib tip!
•Slide the clip onto the clip assembly and then slide the trim ring onto the clip assembly.
•Press the clip assembly into the opposite end of the barrel.
•Screw the nib back into the nib assembly.
•Place the spring over the tip of the refill, then insert the refill into the opening at the top
of the clip assembly.
•Screw the twist mechanism over the refill and into the clip assembly.
•Place the cap over the exposed end of the twist mechanism and push it in.
•The pen is ready to operate. Just twist the cap from one position to another to extend
or retract the refill
•To change the refill, unscrew the nib tip and remove the pen refill.
