Maintenance and service
Clean the chain hoist after each use and store it under dry conditions to avoid corrosion.
Clean the chain block once a year: Bath all parts in kerosene and lubricate them afterwards. It
would be best to have all parts be cleaned and serviced by a qualified expert.
Both “O"-labels on each brake wheel should be aligned to each other.
Mount the wheels of the left and right bearing via its inner raceway to the sprocket wheel
journal. Then, put the bearings’ outer raceway onto the side panels.
While assembling the brake mechanism, keep in mind, that the locking chopper disc’s crooked
teeth and the chopper tooth are engaged. Make sure that the chopper tooth is carefully and
reliably controlled by the spring mechanism. Turn the hand wheel clockwise, after it has been
screwed onto the crank shaft. It needs to push disc and panels against the brake’s base.
When turning the hand wheel counter clockwise you should be able to observe a growing
distance between brake and disc.
The anchor and the right side panel are snug fitted. Be careful to not break them off.
After maintenance and service you should test run the chain block first: Test run the chain
block in idle use first and under heavy to maximum load, secondly. If the chain hoist operates
properly during the test runs, it can be operated as needed.
Keep the rubbing surfaces of the brake mechanism clean, while lubricating or using it. Check
the brake mechanism regularly to avoid unintended braking or possible malfunction of the
brakes: Both can cause the lifted load to be dropped.
During maintenance or disassembly, one link of the chain is always opened for your
convenience.
