SPECIAL SAFETY MEASURES
XNever touch the hot outer surfaces of the kettle
when the water is boiling or when there is hot
water still inside. (With the exception of the heat
insulated handle) Always allow the kettle to cool
prior to cleaning and storing.
XDisconnect the appliance from the electricity
supply during prolonged storage, prior to filling it
with water/emptying it or prior to moving it from one place to
another.
XThe appliance should always be used on a heat resistant,
horizontal dry surface
XTo avoid being burnt by hot vapor always close the lid tightly
before switching the device on. WARNING! Never open
the lid immediately before or after boiling tempera-
ture is reached.
XBefore switching the kettle on always check that there
is water inside and that the water level is between
minimum and maximum. If the kettle is switched on with-
out water, or it overheats, the automatic cut-off devise will
switch it off. If the safety device is activated, allow the kettle to
cool completely before switching on again. The kettle will not
switch on whilst it is too hot.
XWARNING! Frequently switching the kettle on with-
out water might result in the safety device failure;
always check the water level making sure it is not too
low
XAlways switch the kettle off prior to lifting it from the base.
XUse the kettle only with the supplied base.
XAlways fill the kettle with cold water. WARNING! Do not fill
with liquid other than water. Do not use hot or ice
cold water.
XConnect the device only to an electrical supply with a protec-
tive earthing. If your socket has no protective earthing, con-
tact a qualified specialist. Do not modify the plug and do not
use cord adapters. WARNING! Electric shock might oc-
cur if the kettle is plugged into an unearthed power
supply.
XClean the heating element of the kettle often to de-scale it.
Remember that use of a heavily scaled kettle might result in its
malfunction. WARNING! De-scale the kettle using only
specially designed cleaning agents.
XBefore turning the kettle on, make sure that the lid is closed;
otherwise the kettle will not turn off after boiling.
XAfter use of the appliance, the base of the kettle might be wet.
It is a normal condition of operation, caused by escaping steam,
used to activate the kettle’s automatic turning off function.
XDo not tilt the filled kettle backwards, since water can spill
through the steam vent. If this happens, the kettle should be
wiped before turning it on.
XDo not take the electric cord out of the socket during operation
of the appliance. You should first turn it off.
XAfter using the appliance let it cool for a few minutes. After
that you can boil water in it again.
