1. INTENDED USE
The floor standingopen top cryostat MNT is intendedfor rapidfreezing and cutting thin
sectionsoffrozenspecimensforprofessionaluseinroutineandresearchlaboratoriesin
the fields of biology, medicine and industry.
The system of knife advance operates very reliablefrom 0.5 to 100 µm with trimming
function up to 750 µm. The quality of cutting of this microtome is increased by the
automatic retraction during the upstroke of thespecimen,which avoids rubbing on the
disposablebladesormicrotomeknives.Thisstopsrapiddeteriorationofthedisposable
blade or microtome knife.

3.1 Hand wheel stop
Always use the finger protection with the
knife-/blade holder and put hand wheel in
stop position
•before working with the knife or
specimen
•before changing thespecimen
•during break time

lever towards the centre.
