Model: CMAR-01
The CMAR-01 has been designed to facilitate non and minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
It should be used only for those procedures and only by trained personnel.
This manual describes the recommended procedures for preparing and operating the CMAR-01. It does not
describe how a medical procedure is to be performed on a patient with this instrument.
Read all the instructions in this manual carefully before using the CMAR-01 on patients.
Carefully follow all safety instruction to prevent fire, electrical shock, damage to this device, and injury to user or patient.
To maintain the CMAR-01 in optimal conditions, follow all recommendations in this manual for handling, cleaning, and storage.

The CMAR-01 Camera Module:
The CMAR-01 is a multipurpose camera for fiberscope endoscopy and arthroscopy.
The camera features a unified cable system for easy connection, quick-release scope
connector for easy connectivity, and an activation button for the SurgViewTM Integrated Image
Capture.

Carries the light to the scope.

fiber optics and the camera cable
that plugs into the receptacle on
the SurgViewTM Integrated
Visualization System.

1. Attaching the camera:
I. ALIGN THE RED DOTS BEFORE INSERTING.
II.Insert the hybrid connector into the matching
receptacle on the SurgView light source.
III. Be careful not to over-stress the light probe.
2. Attaching the scope:
I. Pull the sliding sleeve on the front of the camera
handpiece.
II. Align the top indicator of the scope with the top
indicator of the handpiece.
III. Insert the scope and release the sliding sleeve.
3. Removing the scope:
I. Pull the sliding sleeve on the front of the camera
handpiece.
II. Remove the scope.
4. Focusing the camera:
I. Gently turn the focusing knob until the image is
sharply focused on the screen.
WARNING: DO NOT OVERTURN!
II. Turning the focusing knob past its stop points will
damage the handpiece and voids the warranty.

The BioVision CMAR-01 is sterilizable by low temperature methods.
The only recommended sterilization method is Ethylene Oxide (EtO). EtO
is done at low temperatures and has excellent Sterility Assurance Levels
(SAL).
Using a high temperature sterilization method such as autoclave or steam;
will cause irreparable damage and is not covered by the warranty.
The camera head, cables, and connectors are not immersible. Sterilizing
and disinfecting soaks are very corrosive and may cause damage to the
camera system. This damage is not covered by the warranty.
To ensure your safety and the safety of others around you, always follow
the manufacturer’s instructions when using a sterilizer.
To ensure the optical performance of your
camera system, clean the optical areas
indicated by arrows in the illustration to the
right.
The recommended method is a cotton
swab or gauze damp with alcohol. Lightly
rub these areas until any foreign material
is cleared away.
Note that you should not clean inside the
outer ring of the SurgViewTM connector.
This area has gold-pins and should never
need cleaning.
Hand clean the rest of the camera with a
damp cloth and a mild detergent if
necessary. Do not use any solvents.
