1. INTRODUCTION
Thismanualwascreatedtohelpyou install and learnallabout the functionalpossibilitiesof theASWscale.
WARNINGS
The scalesshouldbesitedinalocationthat will notdegrade the accuracy.
Avoidextremesof temperature. Donotplaceindirectsunlightornearair conditioning vents.
Avoidunsuitabletables. Thetablesorfloormustbe rigidandnot vibrate. Donot placenearvibrating machinery.
Avoidunstablepowersources. Donotusenearlarge usersof electricitysuchaswelding equipmentorlargemotors.

3. INSTALLATION
a) Unpack thenproduct.
b) Levelthe platform byadjusting the adjustablefeetuntil the bubbleisinthe centreofthelevel.Thestabilityofthe
platform isveryimportant.
ALL THECORNERSMUSTRESTINAUNIFORM WAY.Carefullycheck thatall feetfullyrest onthegroundandthat the
platform, loadedonthe corner, isnotunstable(if acornerisnot resting on theground itsrelativefoot iseasiertoturn).

3.1POWERSUPPLYAND START-UP
The indicatorcanbepowered withafitted 240Vacexternalpoweradapterorjust withthefittedbattery.
NOTE: itisadvisabletocompletelyrechargethebattery(12 hours)withthefirstinstallation oftheinstrument.
TOPOWER theinstrumentthroughthe 240 VacmainsputtheAC/DC powerplug inthe appropriatesocketunderthe
scaleand the poweradapterinthe 240Vacmainssocket.
TO TURN ON/TURN OFF the instrumentpress the keyunderthescaleandreleaseit.
3.2BATTERYPOWERED
The weighing indicatorcanbe operated fromthebatteryif desired.
When thebatteryneedscharging the symbolon theweightdisplaywill turnon.The batteryshouldbe charged
when thesymbolison.The scalewill still operateforabout10 minutesafterwhichitwill automaticallyswitchofftoprotect
the battery.
Tochargethe batterysimplyplug intothemainspower. The scaledoesnot needtobe turnedon.
The batteryshouldbecharged for12 hoursforfull capacity.
You canfind the “Charge”LEDatthe left ofdisplaytoindicatethestatusofbatterycharging.Whenthescaleisplugged
intothe mainspowertheinternalbatterywill be charged.If the LEDisgreen thebatteryhasafull charge.If itisRed
the batteryisnearlydischarged andyellowindicatesthebatteryisbeingcharged.
Asthebatteryisusedit mayfail toholdafull charge. Ifthe batterylifebecomesunacceptablethen contact yourdistributor

4.1FUNCTIONOFTHEKEYS
-Clearsthe displayed gross weight if it’swithin+/-2%ofthe totalcapacity.
-A secondaryfunctionof "Enter"keywhensetting parametersorotherfunctions.
-If pressedforan instant itexecutesthesemiautomatictare;
-Asecondaryfunctionofincrementingthe activedigitwhensettingavaluefor
parametersorotherfunctions.
-If pressed foraninstantitallowstosetthethresholdsforthe QUANTITYCHECK
function(seesection6.8).
-Inthe numericoralphanumericinput,itselectsthedigittobemodified,fromleftto
right.
-If pressed foran instant it allowstolinkaweight tothe 100 percentile(see section 6.7)

6. OPERATION
6.1AUTOMATICZEROUPONSTART-UP
The indicatorhasan“autozeroatstart-up”function:inotherwordsitmeansthatifatstart-up aweightwithin+/-20%
ofthecapacityisdetected,itwill bezeroed;ifthe weightisnotwithinthistolerance,thedisplayshows“Err 4”and the
presentweight afterafewinstants.

6.2SCALEZEROFUNCTION
You can press the ZERO keyat anytimetoset thezeropoint fromwhichall otherweighingandcounting ismeasured,
within+/-2%ofpowerup zero.Thiswill usuallyonlybenecessarywhentheplatform isempty.When the zeropointis
obtainedthedisplaywill showthe indicatorforzero.
The scalehasanautomaticrezeroing functiontoaccountforminordriftingoraccumulation ofmaterialontheplatform
(see step “AZ”,section 7.1).Howeveryou mayneed topress the ZERO keytorezerothescaleifsmall amountsof
weightareshownwhen the platform isempty.
6.3TAREFUNCTION
Zerothescalebypressing the ZERO keyifnecessary.The zerosymbolwill be on.
Placeacontainerontheplatform, avalue foritsweightwill be displayed.
Press the TARE keytotarethescalewhen the “stable”islight. Theweightthatwasdisplayedisstored asthe tare
value andthatvalueissubtracted fromthedisplay,leaving zeroonthe display.The "NET" indicatorwill be on.As
productisaddedonlytheweightofthe productwill beshown.Thescalecouldbetaredasecondtimeifanothertype
of product wastobeaddedtothefirst one.Againonlythe weight thatisaddedaftertaring will be displayed.
When the containerisremoved anegativevaluewill beshown.
Toremovethetare,unloadthe scaleand press again TARE.
6.4OVERLOADMESSAGE
Pleasedonotadditemthatisoverthe maximumcapacity.When reading “—OL—“and hearbeepingsound,
removetheitemon the plattertoavoiddamage tothe load cell.
6.5TOTALISATIONOF THEWEIGHT
The scalecanbesettoaccumulatemanuallytheweightonthescalebypressing the PRINT key(seestep“AU”,
chapter7.1).
The weight displayedwill bestored inmemorywhen the PRINT keyispressed andthe weight isstable.
The displaywill show"ACC 1"andthen thetotalinmemoryfor2secondsbeforereturning tonormal.
Removetheweight, allowing thescaletoreturntozeroandputasecondweighton.Pressthe PRINT key,the
displaywill show"ACC 2"and thenthenewtotal.
Continueuntil all weightshavebeen added.
Toviewthetotalsinmemorypress PRINT keywhencurrent scaleinzerostatus(Zeroindicatoron)
Toclearthe accumulatedtotalweight, pressthe PRINT keywhenshowtotalvalues.
NOTE:
- The totalisationfunctionswithaminimumweightof 20d.
- The maximumnumberoftotalisationsis999whilethe maximumtotalvaluewhichmaybeaccumulated is
999999.
Oncereachedtheselimits, one shouldclearthe total; bypressing PRINT the message “AdErr”will appearon the
display.
- The totalvalueswill becleared whenit’sturnedoff.
6.5.1MANUALORAUTOMATICTOTALIZATION
The operation ofaccumulation,normallydone manuallywithkey PRINT,can be done automaticallywhen the weight
isstable.Inregardstothechoiceof the totalisation execution mode,seestep“AU”, section7.1.

6.6COUNTINGPIECES
Throughthereferencefunction it’spossibletousethescaleasapiececounter.
COUNTING PROCEDURE
The operationstobecarriedout arethefollowing:
1) Placethe emptycontaineronthescaleandpressTAREtotareit.
2) Check that the zeroisonthedisplayandput the quantityofpieceschosen fortheSAMPLE on thescaleand
press FUNC.
3) The displaysuggestsaREFERENCE QUANTITY. The possibleoptionsare:10,20, 50, 100,and200.
4) Press TARE thenumberoftimesneededtoreachthedesired samplesize.
5) Press ZERO; the displaywillindicate"------"and the indicatorwill calculatethe Average PieceWeight (APW).
Afterafewinstantsthedisplaywill indicatethequantityselectedput onthe platform.
5) Add the rest of theitemstocountinthe containerand whosevalue will appearonthe display.
6) Unload thescale,theAPWwill remainstored inmemoryforthenext counting of similarpieces, withouthaving to
repeattheREFERENCEoperation.
7) Bypressingthe %keyone switchesfromthe displayofthe numberofpiecestothedisplayof the averagepiece
weightandofthenet weight.
9) Percancel or tocarryoutanew reference operation, press the FUNC keyandrepeat the operationsas
describe inpoint 1).
6.7SAMPLEWEIGHT PERCENTILE
Inthisfunctioning mode,thedisplayshowstheweightexpressedasapercentile,comparingitwithareferenceweight
forwhichthe 100percentilehasbeenalreadylinked.
MATCHING PROCEDURE
-Put the referenceweightonthe scale.
-Press the %key.
-The scalehasexecutedthepercentilematching anddisplays thepercentileoftheweighton thescale.
-Unload thescale:thefollowing weighswill be expressedasapercentage inreferencetothereferenceweight.
-Tocancelor executeanewmatching operation,press the FUNC keyandrepeatthe operationsdescribed
above.
6.8CHECKINGQUANTITIES
The scaleisfittedwiththe quantitycheck function with2thresholds.Anacousticalarm andthreereferencesymbols
on the displayareenabled on the basisof theset thresholdsandtheweighing result.
The check canbemadeonthe weight,thepricesoronthe percentile.
Tocheckthepiecesone shouldexecutethe referenceoperation (seesection 6.6)and thenconfigurethethresholds.
Tocheckthepercentageoneshouldlinkaweight tothe100percentile(seesection6.7)and thenconfigurethe
thresholds.
6.8.1SETTINGOFTHE WEIGHTTHRESHOLDS
Press LIMIT:
-The displayenablesthe“HI”icon andshows“000.000”,withthefirstblinking digit.Inthissteponeconfiguresthe
upperthreshold.
-Usethe FUNC keytoclearthevalue,the TARE keytoincreasethe valueofthe digit, the %keytogoonthe
previousdigit and the FUNC keytogo on thefollowing digit.
-Confirm the entered valuewith ZERO orpress PRINT toexit without confirming.
-The displayenablesthe “LO”icon and shows“000.000”,withthe firstdigitblinking.Inthisstep one configuresthe
lowerthreshold.
-Usethe FUNC keytoclearthevalue,the TARE keytoincreasethe valueofthe digit, the %keytogoonthe
previousdigit and the FUNC keytogo on thefollowing digit.
-Confirm the entered valuewith ZERO orpress PRINT toexit without confirming.
-The thresholdsareconfigured and theindicatorreturnstoweighing.

6.8.2ACOUSTICALARM INCORRESPONDENCE OFTHE HI-OK-LO LIMITS
One candecideifthe acousticalarm shouldenablewhen the“OK”symbolison orwhenthe “HI”or“LO”symbolsare
on. Tochoosethe alarm enabling mode,seestep“bEEP”, section 7.1.
6.8.3VISUALINDICATIONOFTHE WEIGHTCHECK
Put aweight ontheplateofthe scale.
The indicationsymbolswill enabledepending on whichthresholdshavebeenconfigured:
WITHBOTHTHRESHOLDS CONFIGURED
-The HI symboloftheLCD displaywill turnonwhenthe detectedweight exceedsthe UPPERTHRESHOLD.
-The OK symboloftheLCDdisplaywill turnonwhenthe detected weightisbetween the LOWERTHRESHOLD
and the UPPERWEIGHTTHRESHOLD.
-The LO symboloftheLCD displaywill turnon when thedetected weight isless than the LOWERTHRESHOLD.
WITHTHE UPPERTHRESHOLDCONFIGUREDAND THE LOWERTHRESHOLD=0
-The OK symboloftheLCD displaywill turnon when thedetected weightexceedsthe UPPERTHRESHOLD.
-The LO symboloftheLCD displaywill turnon when thedetected weight isless than the UPPERTHRESHOLD.

NOTES
-The weightcheck functionisenabledwhenthelimitvaluesareentered.Todisablethefunctiononeshouldset the
limit valuesat zero.
-The functionisnot validwhen one entersalowerlimit greaterthanthe upperlimit.
-The weight check isenabledwithaweight greaterthan the minimumweight (20d).
6.9UNITOF MEASURECONVERSION
Bypressing varioustimesthe U keythe conversionintothe configured secondaryunitsofmeasuretakesplace(see
“Unit”step, section7.4); the relativesymbolwill turnoninthedisplay(see section5).
NOTE: The function isnotavailableifthecountingfunction orthe percentilefunctionisenabled.
6.10 FUNCTIONOFAUTOMATICTURN-OFF
The scaleisfittedofaprogrammableautomaticturn-offfunction,whichallowstosaveenergyincaseofnotusing it
temporarily;theautomaticturn-offstartsfunctioning when the scaleisunloaded (gross weight=0)forthetime(in
minutes)programmed in oF step.

7. SET-UPENVIRONMENT
The scalehasvariousparametersthat canbeconfigured intheSET-UPenvironment.
enterintheSET-UP environment press FUNC and PRINT simultaneouslyinthe weighingphase.
-The displaywill showthefirst function, whichis"inC":
-Use TARE orsetavalue,using the % keyandthe LIMIT keytomovetheactivedigit, and then using the TARE keyto
incrementadigit
-Press the ZERO keytoconfirm the modificationand pass tothefollowingstep.
-Press the % keytopasstotheprevioussteporthe LIMIT keytopass tothefollowingstep withoutconfirming the
modification.

usefulifonedoesnothavedefined sampleweights).

accende l’indicatore“ZERO”). Seil pesoèsuperioreal+/-2%dellaportata, l’azzeramentononavràeffetto.
La bilanciahaunafunzionediinseguimentoautomaticodellozeroperazzeraregliaccumuliminori dimaterialesulla
piattaforma(vederepasso“AZ”,paragrafo7.1).Puòesserecomunque necessariopremereil tasto ZERO per
azzerarelabilancia, sesonovisualizzatemaggiori quantitàdipesoconpiattaformascarica.
6.3FUNZIONEDITARA
Azzerareil displaypremendo ZERO senecessario.Siaccendeil simbolo“ZERO”.
Mettereil contenitoresullabilanciae,quando il pesoèstabile,premereil tasto TARE: il pesovienemessointaraesi
accende l’indicatore“NET”;quandooccorrerimuoverelatara,scaricarelabilanciaepremeredinuovo TARE.
Quando siaggiungeunprodotto,vienevisualizzatosoloil suo peso.Aquestopuntoèpossibilemettereintaraun
altropesocheverràaggiuntoalprimo.Quindidinuovosoloil pesoaggiuntoverràvisualizzato.
Quando sirimuoveil contenitorevienevisualizzatoun valorenegativo.
