•Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on
cord, pull cord around sharp corners or edges, or expose cord to
heated surfaces.
•Do not unplug by pulling on cord.
•Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapor
given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some moth-proofing
substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
•Do not allow to be used as a toy.
•Do not use on leather, wax polished furniture or floors, synthetic
fabrics, velvet or other delicate, steam-sensitive materials.
•Do not immerse in water or liquid.

•Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user guide.
•Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments – use of
attachments not provided or sold by BISSELL® may cause fire,
electric shock or injury.
•Never put descaling, aromatic, alcoholic, detergent or vinegar
products into the steam cleaner, as this may damage it or make it
unsafe for use.
•Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cord.
•Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
•Keep the appliance out of reach of children when it is energized or
cooling down.
•The foot surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
•Do not open the aperture during use.
•Extension cords (or longer detachable power-supply cords) are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
•If an extension cord (or a long detachable power-supply cord)
is used: The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-
supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.
•If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should
be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
•The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over
the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged,
or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).
•Plastic film can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation,
keep away from children.
•To reduce the risk of a leaking condition, do not store where
freezing may occur. Damage to internal components may result.
•Keep appliance on a level surface.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can
result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician or
service person if you aren’t sure if the outlet is properly grounded.
DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper
outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is designed
for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, and has a grounding attachment
plug that looks like the plug in the illustration. Make certain that the
appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as
the plug. No plug adapter should be used with this appliance.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be connected to a grounded
wiring system. If it should malfunction or break
down, grounding provides a safe path of least
resistance for electrical current, reducing the
risk of electrical shock. The cord for this appliance has an equipment-
grounding conductor and a grounding plug. It must only be plugged into
an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all
local codes and ordinances.

1. Place wall mount against wall in area where
you would like to store your machine.
2. Place each screw through the two holes in
the wall mount. Use a screwdriver or drill to
attach to the wall.
Note: Machine does not stand up on its own. If the wall mount was not included with your model or you
are not using wall mount, make sure your machine is stored in a safe place. Store in the upright position
against a firm surface to prevent from falling over.
Setting up the Wall Mount (select models only)
1. Attach the toolbox to the handheld pod by aligning the clip on the back side of the toolbox to
the opening on the bottom of the handheld pod and slide down into place.

Filling Your Water Tank
DISTILLED
WATER
1. Pull water tank cap straight
up to open.
2. Fill measuring cup with
distilled water.
3. Fill water tank.
4. Close cap after filling.
Note: Use of distilled water in place of tap water is recommended for optimal steam performance
and to prolong the life of your steamer. To add a fresh scent as you clean, try BISSELL® Demineralized
Waters in scents like Citrus, Eucalyptus Mint and Spring Breeze. Do not use chemicals in the water
tank of your machine. Other solutions may harm the machine.

Using SmartSet Steam Control
Note: You must wait until the STEAM READY light is a solid color before selecting your desired
steam level. Upon the first use of your steamer or first use after refilling the Easy Fill water tank,
the pump may make a “knocking” sound. This is normal and will diminish after a few seconds.
1. Plug machine into a properly
grounded outlet.
2. The STEAM READY light
will start to blink.
3. After 30 seconds, the
STEAM READY light will
turn to a solid light. Steamer is
heated and ready to use.
4. Select a desired steam level based on your cleaning needs.
Push HI STEAM button once to turn ON. Use when
cleaning durable surfaces, tough stains and stuck-on or
sticky messes.
Push LOW STEAM button once to turn ON. Use for
cleaning more delicate surfaces and lighter, everyday
messes.
5. To turn steam OFF, press
the PAUSE button once.

1. Attach mop pad by
wrapping pad around bottom
of mop foot. Ensure gray
stitching is on front of foot and
quick grip release tab is on back.
2. Attach extension wand to
mop foot by clicking it into
place. Insert handheld pod
to the extension wand until it
clicks into place.
3. Plug machine into a
properly grounded outlet.
4. Make sure STEAM READY
light is solid before selecting
appropriate steam level based on
your hard floor cleaning needs.
5. Step on side of mop foot
to recline machine to begin
cleaning.
6. Push steam trigger
underneath handle of handheld
pod to release steam.
7. Move mop foot back and
forth to clean floors. Swivel to
clean tight spaces.
8. To sanitize* use microfiber
mop pad on mop foot. Slowly
and evenly move back and
forth at least three times using
continuous steam. Remove pad
after use and wash.
9. When finished, press
PAUSE button to turn OFF.
Unplug machine.

CLEANING TIPS: Before cleaning and sanitizing*, thoroughly sweep or vacuum floor.
Your steam cleaner is designed to clean hard flooring such as ceramic tile, laminate, marble, stone,
and sealed hardwood floors. Use of your steam cleaner on waxed or some unwaxed floors may result
in a diminished glossiness. The steam cleaner is not for use on unsealed floors. For best results, test
in an inconspicuous area and check the care instructions from your flooring manufacturer.
Your steam cleaner was tested by third-party laboratories under
controlled conditions to ensure it sanitizes and kills 99.9% of germs,
bacteria and viruses*, including Coronavirus and Influenza viruses.

Using the Extension Wand
CAUTION Let steam cool down before removing tools. The end of the extension wand or handheld pod will be hot.
Before changing from mopping to the handheld feature or disconnecting a tool from the handheld
pod or extension wand, make sure steam is no longer coming from the nozzle by releasing the trigger
and pressing the PAUSE button.
1. Remove extension wand
from foot. Step down on pedal
on back of steamer and lift up
to release wand.
2. Attach desired tool to end
of extension wand.
3. Press trigger under handle
to release steam.
4. To sanitize a non-porous,
hard surface, do not use tools
on the end of the steam nozzle.
Hold steam nozzle within one
inch from the surface to be
sanitized and apply steam for
45 seconds.

Removing Tools
1. Press PAUSE button to turn
OFF. Unplug machine.
2. Wait for steam to stop. Remove tools from extension wand
and/or handheld pod before reassembling.

1. Remove extension wand. 2. Attach desired tool to end
of handheld pod.
3. Press trigger under handle
to release steam.
4. To sanitize a non-porous,

After-Cleaning Care

2. Carefully remove mop pad
using Quick Grip Release tab.
NOTE: Mop pad and foot may
be hot.
3. Mop pads can be machine
washed in warm water.
Use only non-bleach liquid
detergents. Do not use fabric
softeners or bleach. For best
results, air dry.

Clip extension wand into holder.
1. Rotate foot vertically. 2. Find opening on back of
handheld pod and hook onto
wall mount.
3. Wrap cord around palm
of your hand into a circle.
Attach wrap strap around cord
to secure.
4. Hang power cord and tool bag on left-side hook.

Easy Fill water tank empty. Refill tank.
Steam level not selected. Select steam level by pushing steam level
button.
Extension wand not installed
properly.
Push wand all the way into handheld pod
until it clicks into place.
Mop foot not installed properly. Insert extension wand into mop foot
until it clicks into place.
Pause button is pressed. Once steam ready light is solid, select
desired steam level (HI or LO) then press
trigger under handle of handheld pod to
release steam.
Mineral deposits from hard water
caused clog.

Streaking
Dirty mop pad. Remove and wash pad per instructions.
Use on waxed or oiled floor. If you have used floor polishes or wax
on your floors, steam products may
decrease glossiness. Refer to wax or
polish manufacturer. If you don’t wax
or polish your floors, check floorcare
instructions from your flooring
manufacturer.
Leaking
Mop pad is too wet. Remove and replace with dry mop pad
and intermittently press steam trigger for
less steam.
Steam level is too high. Lower steam level.
Crack in machine or Easy Fill water
tank.
Check to see if there are any cracks
on machine or tank. Make sure rubber
gasket on tank is still attached and
seated properly in machine.
Knocking noise
First time use or Easy Fill water tank
is empty.
Fill tank and knocking will diminish after
a few seconds.
Metal tube cannot reach water. Shake pod to let tube reach water level.
