SNOWMOBILE CARBIDE RUNNER AND STUD SHARPENING TOOLS
INSTRUCTIONS: 12 VOLT CARBIDE GRINDER
Congratulations on the purchase of your BITEHARDER®12 Volt Carbide Grinder. This product is hand made in
the U.S.A. of quality materials. All components are carefully machined on state of the art manufacturing equipment, and
assembled with pride, to the highest quality standards.
Our 12 Volt Carbide Grinder allows you the convenience of sharpening your carbide runners using the power of your
snowmobiles battery.
This product is designed to work in conjunction with our Standard Series – Carbide Runner Sharpening Tool only. Other
tools are not recommended.
The following operating instructions and important safety rules/warnings will allow you to maximize the effectiveness and
longevity of your BITEHARDER®12 Volt Carbide Grinder.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Properly attach the battery connector cable to your snowmobile battery (see “Attaching Cable to Battery” section below).
2. Using the hex wrench supplied, remove the set screw on the carbide grinders shaft adapter. Fully insert the shaft of
your BITEHARDER®Standard Series Carbide Runner Sharpening Tool to the shaft adaptor. Re-install and securely
tighten the set screw.
3. Securely position your snowmobile on its side and rmly hold the ski from moving.
4. With the carbide grinder power switch in the “OFF” position, connect the carbide grinder to the battery connector cable
using the supplied extension cable.
5. Turn “ON” the carbide grinder and gradually contact the carbide sharpening tool with the carbide runner.
6. Using light pressure, slowly move the tool back and forth along the carbide runner in a continuous and uniform motion.
Applying to much force can cause the carbide grinder to stall.
7. After approximately 20 seconds of sharpening, turn “OFF” your carbide grinder and review the carbide runners edge.
Once your carbide runner is sharp, the process is complete.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
• When operating the carbide grinder do not apply excessive pressure, causing the carbide grinder to stall. Use a light
pressure when sharpening your carbide runner. This will allow the tool to sharpen the carbide runner more effectively
and achieve the best results.
• Your 12 Volt Carbide Grinder is designed to be used for short periods of operation. Extended operation may drain your
battery and cause the unit to fail prematurely.

• Always disconnect the power cord from the power source before making any adjustments or attaching any accessories.
Failure to do this may unexpectedly cause the tool to start operating, and potentially cause serious personal injury.
• When changing sharpening tools, make sure the tool is properly secured to the shaft adapter by tightening the set screw
with the supplied hex wrench. Improperly mounted or loose tools can unexpectedly shift, be ejected from the shaft
adapter and cause loss of control.
• Remove set screw hex wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench left attached to a rotating part of the power
tool may result in personal injury.
• To prevent unintentional carbide grinder starting, assure the switch is in the off-position before attaching the unit to power.
