This appliance includes some or all of the following features.

Assembly
Mounting accessories (g. B, C, D, E, F & G)
The 2-in-1 combi nozzle (11) has a brush that can be folded
forward for dusting and upholstery cleaning
uTo t an accessory press the accessory clip (11) and slide
the accessory onto the handle (2) (Fig. B & C).
uTo remove an accessory, press the accessory clip (11) and
remove the accessory.
The handle (2) can be removed from the hose (4) allowing
the accessories to be connected directly to the hose when
required. To remove the handle:
uUnclip the handle (2) from the appliance.
uRotate the locking ring (3) anti-clockwise to release the
clips (Fig. D).
uPull the hose (4) away from the handle (2) (Fig. E).
uFit the accessory directly to the hose cuff (3) (Fig. F)
To ret the handle:
uRemove the accessory from the hose.
uPush the hose (4) into the handle (2). Rotate the locking
ring (3) clockwise until it clicks into place
Use
Connecting to the vehicle’s power supply
uMake sure that the appliance is switched off.
uRemove the cigarette lighter from it’s socket.
uPlug the connector (6) into the cigarette lighter socket.
Switching on and off (g. A)
uTo switch on, slide the on/off switch (1) to the right.
uTo switch off, slide the on/off switch (1) to the left until it
clicks into the off position.
The appliance can be used for periods of up to 30 minutes
without noticeably affecting the power of a normally charged
car battery in good condition.
Warning! Extended use will drain the battery power. Do not
run the vehicle’s engine while cleaning as this can shorten the
life of the appliance.
Vacuuming
uWhen operating the appliance, make sure that the hose is
not trapped, twisted or blocked.
uThe handle (2) can be easily removed from the appliance
allowing you to reach up to 1.5 m from the appliance.
uWith the handle (2) removed, the appliance can be carried
using the built-in handle.
uThe handle (2) can also be removed from the hose (4) so
that you can connect an accessory directly to the hosecuff
(3) when required.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning the dust bowl (g. H, I, J, K, )
Your BLACK+DECKER tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper care
and regular cleaning
uRelease the door latch (7) and open the transparent door
(5) 180° until it clicks in the open position.
uEmpty the dust container by lightly shaking over a dustbin
uClose the transparent door (5) and make sure that it clicks
into place.
Cleaning the lters (g. L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T )
uPress the bowl release button (9) (g. L)
uRotate bowl (g. M)
uSeperate dust bowl from appliance (g. N).
uClean the lter by rotating 3 times counterclockwise
(g. K).
uLift the lter from the dust bowl (g. P) and brush off any
loose dust.
uEmpty any remaining dust from the dust bowl (g. Q).
uEnsure the dust bowl is open (g. R).
uRinse out the dustbowl with warm soapy water (g. S).
uWash the lters with warm soapy water (g. T).
uMake sure the lters are dry
uRet the lters onto the appliance twisting them clockwise
until they lock into place.
uClose the dustbowl door. Make sure the release latch (8)
clicks into place.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaning on
the appliance, unplug the appliance.
From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.
Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Do not
immerse the appliance in water
Replacing the lters
The lters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and
whenever worn or damaged. Replacement lters are available
from your BLACK+DECKER dealer (cat. no PD10):
uRemove the old lters as described above.
