6General Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Equipment
Before cleaning maintenance is carried out, please ensure the unit is disconnected from the mains supply.
The Eliptig-S system should be cleaned by wiping with a soft, lint free cloth.
6.2 Visual Inspection
Before each use, inspect the lamps and mains cable for possible wear, cracks or breaks before each use.
Do not use the system if the lamps or cable appear to be damaged.
6.3 Lamp Renewal
The Eliptig-S lamps should be renewed every 8,000 hours.
WARNING –MERCURY HAZARD: Do not break the UVC lamps. Each UVC lamp contains small amounts
of mercury that can have harmful effects if exposed or ingested.
•Disconnect the system from the AC mains.
•Loosen the waterproof end caps by hand.
•Rotate the tube until the prongs at either end are facing outwards and slide the tube out of
the fixture.
•Fit the new tube by fitting the waterproof end caps and lining up the prongs with the slots at
both ends of the socket. Push the tube into the socket and twist it 900 until it locks into
place.
•Tighten the waterproof end caps by hand.
•Exposure to mercury may cause redness or irritation.
•In the case of a broken UVC lamp, sweep up all the broken glass and debris into a plastic bag and
secure it with a seal.
•Dispose of broken or UVC lamp debris at a local recycling center.
•Do not use a vacuum cleaner or incinerator to collect or dispose of any lamp debris.
6.4 Servicing and Maintenance Schedule

Statement.
Blue Sky will make available upon request, circuit diagrams, component part lists, descriptions or other
information that will assist service personnel to repair those parts ofthe Eliptig S that aredesignated by Blue
Sky as repairable by service personnel.
Maintenance contracts are availablefrom Blue Sky or your Distributor after year one.
