1Safety Warnings
The Eliptig-S is designed to emit UVC radiation at 254nm which has been proven to be highly effective at
killing bacteria and viruses by destroying the molecular bonds that hold their DNA together.
The Eliptig-S must only be operated in a secure environment. DO NOT operate the device while people are
in the area.
Persons operating the unit must wear the safety glasses provided along with appropriate PPE.
The User Manual must always remain legible and kept with the Eliptig-S.
DO NOT use the power cable to manoeuvre the device.
WARNING –MERCURY HAZARD: Do not break the UVC lamps. Each UVC lamp contains small amounts
of mercury that can have harmful effects if exposed or ingested.
•Exposure to mercury may cause redness or irritation.
•In the case of a broken UVC lamp, sweep up all the broken glass and debris into a plastic bag and
secure it with a seal.
•Dispose of broken or UVC lamp debris at a local recycling center.
•Do not use a vacuum cleaner or incinerator to collect or dispose of any lamp debris.
WARNING - UVC LIGHT HAZARD: Use of controls, adjustments or performance of procedures
other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure. No attempt to
operate this UV system until the User Manual has been read and fully understood. In addition, a
clear understanding of the biological effects of the interaction of UV light with tissue / eyes
should be prerequisite to the use of this UV system. When not in use the UV equipment should
be protected from unqualified use. UVC radiation can cause severe burns (of the skin) and eye
injuries (photokeratitis). Avoid direct skin exposure to UVC radiation and never look directly into
a UVC light source, even briefly.

WARNING: Do not modify this equipment without authorization of the manufacturer.
The manufacturer of the Eliptig-S has made every effort to provide as many safety features as possible to
assure personal safety. To be effective, these safety features must be utilised and not ignored.
Electrical Safety
WARNING: To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply mains with
protective earth.
HIGH VOLTAGE WARNING: There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit, only manufacturer spares
and accessories should be used with the system, non-standard cables, components and accessories may
degrade performance, create safety hazards or affect EMC performance. NO ATTEMPT SHOULD BE
MADE TO REMOVE THE OUTER COVER
WARNING: Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because
it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other equipment
should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.

4Transportation and Installation.
4.1 Transport Damage.
The Eliptig-S has been carefully packed and should arrive at its destination in perfect condition. Upon
delivery, please check that the external packaging is not damaged. If signs of damage are present, or the
shock detector labels have been activated, please report them to the shipping carrier and the Customer
Service Department within 24 Hrs.
4.2 Environmental Transport & Storage Conditions.
The transport & storage conditions for the Eliptig-S were determined from specifications set by the
manufacturers of critical components as follows: -

Relative Humidity 35% to 65% Non-Condensing.

6General Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Equipment
Before cleaning maintenance is carried out, please ensure the unit is disconnected from the mains supply.
The Eliptig-S system should be cleaned by wiping with a soft, lint free cloth.
6.2 Visual Inspection
Before each use, inspect the lamps and mains cable for possible wear, cracks or breaks before each use.
Do not use the system if the lamps or cable appear to be damaged.
6.3 Lamp Renewal
The Eliptig-S lamps should be renewed every 8,000 hours.

•Disconnect the system from the AC mains.
•Loosen the waterproof end caps by hand.
•Rotate the tube until the prongs at either end are facing outwards and slide the tube out of
the fixture.
•Fit the new tube by fitting the waterproof end caps and lining up the prongs with the slots at
both ends of the socket. Push the tube into the socket and twist it 900 until it locks into
place.
•Tighten the waterproof end caps by hand.
•Exposure to mercury may cause redness or irritation.
•In the case of a broken UVC lamp, sweep up all the broken glass and debris into a plastic bag and
secure it with a seal.
•Dispose of broken or UVC lamp debris at a local recycling center.
•Do not use a vacuum cleaner or incinerator to collect or dispose of any lamp debris.
6.4 Servicing and Maintenance Schedule
For details of the Service and Maintenance Schedule for your Eliptig-S device please refer to your Warranty
Statement.
Blue Sky will make available upon request, circuit diagrams, component part lists, descriptions or other
information that will assist service personnel to repair those parts ofthe Eliptig S that aredesignated by Blue
Sky as repairable by service personnel.
Maintenance contracts are availablefrom Blue Sky or your Distributor after year one.

6.5 Safe Disposal
For safe disposal of the unit please contact your Distributor.

WEEE Compliance Statement
Introduction
The Producer of this EEE passes all obligations to the ‘B2B End User’ when this EEE is subsequently discarded
as WEEE. The B2B End User, in accordance with the WEEE Collections Policy outlined in our General Terms
and Conditions of Sale, must finance collection, treatment, recycling, recovery and environmentally sound
disposal of this EEE when it is discarded as WEEE in the UK.
The Producer has paid no charge to its PCS (Producer Compliance Scheme) for its eventual recovery. However,
the PCS’s disposal contractor is able to provide cost effective and environmentally sound disposal of all 13
categories of WEEE.
