inmaterialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofone(1)yearfromthedateof
purchase.ThesoleresponsibilityofBlueTreeWirelessDataInc.underthis
warrantyislimitedtoeitherrepairor,attheoptionofBlueTreeWirelessData
Inc.,replacementofthecellularmodem.Therearenoexpressedorimplied
warranties,includingthoseoffitnessforaparticularpurposeor
merchantability,whichextendbeyondthefacehereof.BlueTreeWireless
DataInc.isnotliableforanyincidentalorconsequentialdamagesarising
fromtheuse,misuse,orinstallationoftheBlueTreecellularmodem.This
warrantydoesnotapplyiftheserialnumberlabelhasbeenremoved,orifthe
cellularmodemhasbeensubjectedtophysicalabuse,improperinstallation,
ormodification.Theunitisautomaticallyregisteredforwarrantyatthedate

1Setupadataaccountforthemodem
ContactyourAllteldealerandrequestadataaccounttobeassignedtothe
modem’sESN(electronicserialnumber).TheESNisprintedonmodem’s
label.
2Wiringandpower‐up
1. ConnectthemodemtoyourcomputerusingastandardEthernetcable.
Alternatively,theRS‐232orUSBportscanbeusedforsetup.
2. ConnectthecellularantennatotheAntennaconnector.
3. Pluginthepowerconnectortopower‐upthemodem.
3StartBlueVueDeviceManagersoftware
1. DownloadandinstallthelatestversionofBlueVueDeviceManager
from:www.bluetreewireless.com
2. Whenlaunched,itwillattempttoconnectto192.168.0.1bydefault,
onceconnectedtothemodemtheModemDiagnosticwindowwill
open(Notethat192.168.0.1connectstotheEthernetcable.Toconnect
totheUSBportuse192.168.111.1):
Troubleshooting
IfBlueVuedisplays“DetectingModemat192.168.0.1”indefinitely,then:
•Makesurethemodemispoweredon
•ChecktheEthernetLinkLEDonthemodem.Ifit’soff,itusuallymeans
youhaveaproblemwiththeEthernetcableorwithyourcomputer’s
networkcard.
•Closeallothernetworkconnections(suchasWiFi)
•SetyourcomputertoobtainanIPaddressautomatically
4Confirmthatthemodemisacquiringacellularsignal
TheSignalLEDshouldbeonorflashing,indicatingthatthemodemhasa
signal.BlueVueDeviceManagerdisplayssignalinformationinthetoprightof
itswindow;aminimumof1barisrequiredtoconnecttothecarrierwiththe
modem.
Troubleshooting
IftheSignalLEDisoff,thentheremaybeanissuewiththeantennaor
cellularcoveragemightbetoolowinyourcurrentlocation.
5Activatethemodem
1. ClickontheACTbuttonlocatedatthetop.ClickontheCarrier
ProvisioningbuttontoopentheCarrierProvisioningdialog
2. IntheCarrierProvisioningwindow,ClickontheOTASP…buttonand
thenclickOKatthewarningprompt
3. Waitfortheactivationprocesstocomplete.
4. Confirmthesuccessofthenumber’sprogramming
5. ClickontheDIAGbuttonlocatedatthetoplefttonavigatetothe
ModemDiagnosticscreen.Checkthephonenumberreportedbythe
modemunderModemIdentification:itshouldmatchtheMDN
providedbytheAlltel.
Troubleshooting
Iftheabovedoesnotoccur,thenthemodemmostlikelyhasnoaccount.
Contactthewirelessserviceproviderwhoprovidedyouwiththeaccountand
askthemtoconfirmthatthephonenumberandMIN/MSIDassigned
correspondtothemodem’sESN(electronicserialnumber),andthatthe
accountisreadytobeused.
6. Confirmthemodemhassuccessfullyconnectedtothecellularnetwork:
•TheWANLEDwillbeonorflashing
•InBlueVue,clicktheDIAGbutton,theWANIPshouldindicatethe
IPaddressassignedtothemodembythecellularnetwork.
Setupiscomplete!
