ing coee beans for domestic use only. Do not use
to grind anything else as this would damage the
appliance.
Before operating this appliance for the irst time, read
all instructions. Failure to observe the instructions
and safety notes may result in hazardous conditions.
After unpacking the appliance, check it for damage.
If in doubt, do not use it and contact your dealer.
Keep the packaging materials (cardboard, plastic
bags, etc.) out of the reach of children (danger of
suocation or injury).
This appliance is designed for household use only.
Do not use outdoors. Do not place on or near a hot
gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

Instructions for Use
The manufacturer rejects any liability for damage
or injury caused by improper or unreasonable
use. Do not use the appliance for other than the
intended use.
Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
To use the appliance, it must be plugged into a
power point. Never use the appliance on a hot
surface.
Never touch the appliance with damp or wet
hands. Do not touch the mains cable or plug with
wet hands. Always unplug the appliance by holding
the plug, not the cord. Do not let the cord hang
over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces, including the stove. Do not operate any
appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after
the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged
in any manner.
The use of accessory attachments not recom-
mended or sold by the appliance manufacturer
may result in ire, electric shock or injury to persons.
In the case of a fault or malfunction occurring,
switch the appliance o; do not attempt to repair it
yourself. Have repairs to the appliance carried out
only by a customer service workshop that is autho-
rised by the manufacturer. Failure to comply with
the above safety notes can compromise the safety
of the appliance.

This appliances has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug will it in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not it fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not it, contact a qualiied
electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
Never attempt to change the mains cable of the
appliance as special tools are required for this. To
ensure continued safety of the appliance, if the
supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, his service agent or similarly quali-
ied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from the

Place the appliance on a stable lat surface which is
neither hot nor near a heat source. The surface must
be dry. Keep the appliance and its mains cable out of
the reach of children.
Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate
of the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage in
your area.
The manufacturer declines any liability for accidents
caused by faulty or non-existing earthing of the
appliance.
If the power point is unsuitable for accommodating
the plug of your appliance, have the power point
changed by a licensed electrician.
INSTALLATION
Young children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, his service agent or similarly quali-
ied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION
Always disconnect the blade grinder and clean
after each occasion of use. Never immerse the elec-
tric coee grinder in water; simply clean the housing
with a soft brush and wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Instructions for Use
Your coee grinder is ready for use. Please dispose
of the packaging material with respect for the
environment.
UNPACKING
This appliance must only be connected to an a/c
supply with a voltage of 220240 V/5060 Hz (Europe
version) or 120 V/60 Hz (US or Canada version).
Minimum fuse protection of the socket outlet = 6
amps.
ELECTRICITY
SUPPLY
Switch o the appliance and disconnect from the
mains supply before approaching parts that move
when in use.
Please ensure that the mains plug is disconnected
from the socket outlet when you ill the appliance
with coee beans.
The coee grinder should be used with a maximum
of 84g coee beans.
FILLING THE
APPLIANCE
In order to prevent the motor from overheating, never
use the coee grinder for longer than 60 seconds at a
time, as doing so would increase the danger of burns
due to the motor overheating! The coee grinder is
ready for use again after a 60 second break.
DURATION OF
OPERATION
This BODUM® coee grinder is exclusively intended
for grinding coee beans for domestic use only. Do
not use it to grind anything else as this would dam-
age the appliance.
Technical modiications are strictly forbidden due to
the inherent dangers!

GRIND SETTING (6):
= Fine Grinding
(e.g. for espresso coee maker) The exact
grind setting may vary depending on the
product. Please follow the instructions of the
respective espresso coee maker.
= Medium Grinding
(e.g. for BODUM® ilter coee makers)

(e.g. for BODUM® French Press coee makers)

For 13 cups select 3
For 4 cups select 4
For 58 cups select 8

GRIND
SETTING
& CUP
SELECTION
Remove the lid (2) by turning it counterclockwise and
lifting it straight up. Make sure that the removable
grinding container (3) is irmly locked in position (3b
& 1c) by turning the container (3) clockwise.
Use the cup markings (3c) to ill the grinding con-
tainer (3) with coee beans. Once the grinding
container (3) has been illed with coee beans, place
the lid (2) on the housing (1). The lid (2) must be
positioned in such a way that the lateral recesses in
the lid (2a) it into the notch provided on the housing
(1a). The third recess in the lid (2b) its into the locking
area on the back of the housing (1b). To lock the lid
(2) turn it clockwise. Make sure that the lid is properly
engaged (the slight buckle sound is the indication).
The coee grinder is ready for use when the plug is
plugged into the socket.

Unplug from the mains before cleaning.
Always clean the appliance immediately after use.
Never clean the appliance with water or immerse it
in water. The housing (1) can be cleaned with a soft,
damp cloth.
The removable grinding container (3) can be cleaned
with hot, soapy water and a soft brush.
To clean the lid (2), wipe it with a damp cloth. Never
use chemicals, steel wool or abrasive agents for
cleaning. Washing-up liquid can be used, but never
abrasive cleaners.
CLEANING
Move the Cup selector slider (5) up or down to
select the amount of coee you want to grind. Turn
the grind setting dial (6) to select FINE, MEDIUM
or COARSE, or the two selections in between. The
selected grind setting lights up. Press the stand-by
button (4) to start grinding. The grinder turns o
automatically. You can stop the process at any time
by pressing the stand-by button (4).
After grinding, unplug the appliance and empty the
coee grinder. To unlock and remove the grinding
container (3) twist it counterclockwise and lift it
straight up.
When the appliance is not in use, it must be switched
o and un-plugged.
Keep the coee grinder in a safe, dry place out of the
reach of children.
STORAGE
The coee grinder does not require maintenance,
apart from the occasional function check.
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorized service representative.

Immediately unplug the appliance if it is defective
or if a defect is suspected. Have the appliance
examined, and if necessary repaired, by the nearest
authorised BODUM® dealer. Repairs and any other
servicing to the coee grinder should only be carried
out by authorised service personnel. Inadequate
repair can create signiicant hazards to users.
BODUM® cannot accept any liability for damage
caused by inadequate repairs. Under these circum-
stances the guarantee will be void.

Le fabricant ne peut être tenu responsable des
éventuels dommages encourus à la suite d’une uti-
lisation impropre, incorrecte ou déraisonnable de
l’appareil. N’utilisez en aucun cas l’appareil à des
ins autres que celles pour lesquelles il est prévu.

Cet appareil est muni d’une iche polarisée (une
lame est plus large que l’autre). Il n’y a qu’une seule
façon d’introduire la iche dans la prise, ce qui
constitue une sécurité contre les risques d’électro-
cution. Si la iche n’entre pas complètement dans la
prise, essayez en sens inverse. Si cela ne fonctionne
toujours pas, contactez un électricien. N’essayez en
aucun cas d’apporter des modiications à la iche.

Branchez toujours le cordon sur l’appareil d’abord,

appuyant sur le bouton de mise en marche puis
retirez la iche de la prise.
Éteignez l'appareil, puis débranchez-le du secteur

secteur dans votre zone.
