Welcome to BODUM®
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a C-Mill
coffee grinder, the electrical blade coffee grinder from BODUM®.
Read these instructions carefully before using the coffee grinder.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
– This BODUM®coffee grinder is intended for grinding coffee beans for
domestic use only. Do not use to grind anything else as this would
damage the appliance.
– Before operating this appliance for the first time, read all instructions.
Failure to observe the instructions and safety notes may result in
hazardous conditions.
– After unpacking the appliance, check it for damage. If in doubt, do
not use it, contact your dealer.
– Keep the packaging materials (cardboard, plastic bags etc.) out of
reach of children (danger of suffocation or injury).
– This appliance is designed for household use only. Do not use outdoors.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
– The manufacturer rejects any liability for damage or injury caused by
improper or unreasonable use. Do not use appliance for other then
intended use.
– Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
– Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children or not familiar persons.
– To use the appliance, it must be plugged into a power point. Never use
the appliance on a hot surface.
– Never touch the appliance with damp or wet hands. Do not touch the
mains cable or plug with wet hands. Always unplug the appliance by
holding the plug, not the cord. Do not let cord hang over edge of
table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not operate any appliance
with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or
has been damaged in any manner.
– The use of accessory attachements not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
– This appliances has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

– In the case of a fault or malfunction occurring, switch the appliance
off; do not attempt to repair it yourself. Have repairs to the appliance
carried out only by a customer service workshop that is authorised by
the manufacturer. Failure to comply with the above safety notes can
compromise the safety of the appliance.
– Never attempt to exchange the mains cable of the appliance as special
tools are required for this. To ensure continued safety of the appliance,
if the cable needs to be repaired or exchanged, have this carried out
exclusively by a customer service workshop authorised by the
manufacturer.
– Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall
outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to «off», then remove plug
from the wall.
– Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off
parts and before cleaning.
– Avoid contacting moving parts.
– To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not
immerse cord, plugs, or (state specific part or parts in question) in
water or other liquid.
– Check hopper for presence of foreign objects before using.
– This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm
persons unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible
person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely.
INSTALLATION
– Place the appliance on a stable flat surface which is neither hot or near
a heat source. The surface must be dry. Keep the appliance and its
mains cable out of reach of children.
– Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate of the appliance
agrees with the mains voltage in your area.
– The manufacturer declines any liability for accidents caused by faulty
or non-existing earthing of the appliance.
– If the power point is unsuitable for accommodating the plug of your
appliance, have the power point changed by a licensed electrician.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
– Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
– This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack experi-
ence and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
– If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufac-
turer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid
a hazard.
– Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before approach-
ing parts that move in use.
UNPACKING
Your coffee grinder is ready for use. Please dispose of the packaging
material with respect for the environment.
CORD STORAGE FACILITY
The coffee grinder has an integrated cord storage facility. To wind or
unwind the power cord, hold the bottom of the housing with one hand
and slowly pull out the base of the housing with the other. The power
cord can then be wound up or out of the cord storage facility. Gently
push the housing base back into its normal position.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
This appliance must only be connected to an a/c supply with a voltage of
230 V/50 Hz (Europe version) or 120 V/60 Hz (US or Canada version).
Minimum fuse protection of the socket outlet = 6 amps.
SET-UP AND OPERATION
This BODUM®coffee grinder is exclusively intended for grinding coffee
beans for domestic use only. Do not use to grind anything else as this
would damage the appliance.
Technical modifications are strictly forbidden due to the inherent
dangers!
FILLING THE APPLIANCE
Please ensure that the mains plug is disconnected from the socket
outlet when you fill the appliance with coffee beans.
The coffee grinder should be used with a maximum of 45 g coffee beans.
(45 g is 2 x the volume of the lid).
DURATION OF OPERATION
In order to prevent the motor from overheating, never use the coffee
grinder for longer than 30 seconds at a time as doing so would increase
the danger of burns due to the motor overheating!
GRINDING THE COFFEE BEANS
– Once the appliance has been filled with coffee beans, put the lid
on so that the tongue on the lid fits into the intended slot in the
housing.
– The coffee grinder is ready for use when the plug is plugged into the
socket.
– Press the on/off button and hold the lid on tight while the coffee is
ground.
– After grinding, unplug the appliance and empty the coffee grinder.

CLEANING/STORAGE/MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
– Always clean the appliance immediately after use.
– Never clean the appliance with water or immerse it in water.
– The metal container can be cleaned with a soft, dry brush.
STORAGE
– When the appliance is not in use, it must be switched off and
unplugged.
– Keep the coffee grinder in a safe, dry place out of the reach of
children.
MAINTENANCE
The coffee grinder does not require maintenance, apart from the
occasional function check.
DEFECTS
Immediately unplug the appliance if it is defective or if a defect is
suspected. Have the appliance examined, and if necessary repaired, by
the nearest authorised BODUM®dealer. Repairs to the coffee grinder
should only be carried out by authorised service personnel. Inadequate
repair can create significant hazards to users. BODUM®cannot accept
any liability for damage caused by inadequate repairs. Under these
circumstances the guarantee will be void.

Only agents authorized by BODUM®may perform guarantee services.
BODUM®makes no guarantee for damage which can be attributed to
use for unintended purposes, incorrect handling, normal wear and tear,

Willkommen bei BODUM®
BODUM®gratuliert Ihnen zu Ihrer C-MILL Kaffeemühle, der
elektrischen Schlagmesser-Kaffeemühle.
Lesen Sie sorgfältig die folgenden Anweisungen, bevor Sie die
Kaffeemühle verwenden.
KAFFEEMÜHLE
Diese BODUM®Kaffeemühle ist ausschliesslich für das Mahlen von
Kaffeebohnen in haushaltüblichen Mengen und zum privaten Gebrauch
bestimmt. Getreidekörner irgendwelcher Art dürfen damit nicht
gemahlen werden; sie würden das Gerät beschädigen. Wie bei allen
elektrischen Geräten wird auch bei dieser BODUM®Kaffeemühle zur
Vermeidung von Verletzungen, Brand- oder Geräteschäden besondere
Sorgfalt verlangt. Bitte studieren Sie die vorliegende Betriebsanleitung
vor der Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes, und beachten Sie die
Sicherheitshinweise.
Personen, die mit der Betriebsanleitung nicht vertraut sind, dürfen die
Kaffeemühle nicht benutzen.
WICHTIGE ANGABEN
– Kinder sollten beaufsichtigt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie
nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.
– Dieses Gerät ist nicht dafür bestimmt, durch Personen (einschliess-
lich Kinder) mit eingeschränkten physischen, sensorischen oder

SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN
Gefahr! Strom kann tödlich sein! Die Kaffeemühle niemals in
Verbindung mit Wasser oder anderen Flüssigkeiten bringen:
Kurzschlussgefahr!
SCHUTZ ANDERER PERSONEN
Achten Sie darauf, dass Kinder keine Gelegenheit erhalten, mit der
Kaffeemühle zu spielen. Kinder erkennen die Gefahren nicht, die im
Zusammenhang mit elektrischen Geräten entstehen können.
NETZKABEL
Das Gerät niemals mit beschädigtem Netzkabel verwenden. Netzkabel
nicht über Ecken und scharfe Kanten ziehen oder einklemmen.
Das Netzkabel nicht über heisse Gegenstände legen oder hängen sowie
vor Öl schützen. Das Gerät niemals am Netzkabel tragen oder ziehen.
Den Stecker niemals am Netzkabel oder mit nassen Händen aus der
Steckdose ziehen.
STANDORT
Stellen Sie das Gerät nur auf standsichere Tische oder Abstellflächen.
Damit das Gehäuse nicht anschmilzt, das Gerät nicht auf heisse Flächen
oder in die Nähe von offenen Flammen stellen! Unbedingt den Standort
so wählen, dass kein Verlängerungskabel nötig ist.
REINIGUNG
Bevor Sie die Kaffeemühle reinigen, unbedingt den Netzstecker ziehen.
REPARATUREN
Bei Störungen, defektem Gerät oder Verdacht auf Defekt nach einem
Sturz sofort Netzstecker ziehen. Niemals beschädigtes Gerät in Betrieb
nehmen. Das Öffnen des Gehäuses ist strengstens verboten.
Zur Überprüfung, für elektrische oder mechanische Reparaturen oder
zur Einstellung bringen Sie die Kaffeemühle zur nächsten BODUM®
Filiale oder zum nächsten BODUM®Geschäft zurück.
Bitte halten Sie die Sicherheitsvorschriften für Ihre Sicherheit und für
die Sicherheit Dritter strikte ein. Lesen Sie alle Anweisungen! Bewahren
Sie diese Gebrauchsanweisung auf! Nur für Verwendung im Haushalt
geeignet!

AUSPACKEN
Die Kaffeemühle ist betriebsbereit. Entsorgen Sie bitte das Verpackungs-
material ordnungsgemäss.
KABELSTAUFACH
In der Kaffeemühle ist eine Kabelaustaufach integriert. Zum Auf- oder
Abrollen des Netzkabels halten Sie mit einer Hand das Gehäuseunterteil
fest und ziehen mit der anderen Hand den Gehäuseboden langsam
heraus. Das Netzkabel kann dann in das Kabelstaufach Auf- oder Ab-
gerollt werden. Durch leichtes drücken lässt sich der Gehäuseboden
wieder in die Normalposition zurückschieben.
STROMANSCHLUSS
Bitte beachten Sie, dass unsachgemässer Umgang mit Strom tödlich sein
kann. Die Kaffeemühle nur an Wechselstrom mit einer Spannung von
230 V/50 Hz (120 V/60 Hz) anschliessen. Mindestabsicherung der Steck-
dose 6 Ampère.
INBETRIEBNAHME UND BEDIENUNG
EINFÜLLEN DER KAFFEEBOHNEN
Achten Sie beim Einfüllen der Kaffeebohnen, dass der Netzstecker
ausgezogen ist.
Die Kaffeemühle sollte mit maximal 45 g Kaffeebohnen betrieben
werden. (Die 45 g entsprechen der 2-fachen Füllmenge des Deckels).
BETRIEBSDAUER
Die Kaffeemühle darf nicht länger als 30 Sekunden lang ununterbrochen
betrieben werden, das sich der Motor überhitzen könnte: Brandgefahr!
MAHLEN DER KAFFEEBOHNEN
– Setzen Sie den Deckel nach dem Einfüllen der Kaffeebohnen so auf,
dass die Betätigungslasche am Deckel in die dafür vorgesehene
Gehäuseaussparung greift.
– Die Kaffeemühle ist durch Einstecken des Steckers in die Steckdose
betriebsbereit.
– Betätigen Sie die Einschalttaste, und halten Sie den Deckel während
des Mahlvorganges in seiner Position fest.

Nach dem Mahlvorgang Stecker ausziehen und Kaffeemühle entleeren.

REINIGUNG
– Das Gerät immer direkt nach dessen Verwendung reinigen.
– Das Gerät niemals mit Wasser reinigen oder ins Wasser tauchen.
– Der Metallbecher lässt sich mit einem weichen, trockenen Pinsel
säubern.
AUFBEWAHRUNG
– Bei Nichtgebrauch Gerät ausschalten und Netzstecker ziehen.
– Bewahren Sie die Kaffeemühle an einem trockenen und für Kinder
unzugänglichen Ort auf.
WARTUNG
Ausser einer gelegentlichen Funktionskontrolle benötigt die Kaffee-
mühle keinerlei Wartung.

STÖRUNGEN
Bei Störungen, defektem Gerät oder Verdacht auf Defekt nach einem
Sturz sofort Netzstecker ziehen. Lassen Sie das Gerät durch die nächste
autorisierte BODUM®Filiale überprüfen und allenfalls reparieren.
Reparaturen an der Kaffeemühle dürfen nur durch autorisiertes Service-
personal durchgeführt werden. Durch nicht fachgerechte Reparaturen
können erhebliche Gefahren für den Benutzer entstehen. Bei unfachge-
rechten Reparaturen kann keine Haftung für eventuelle Schäden
übernommen werden. In diesem Fall erlischt auch der Garantieanspruch.

Garantie. BODUM®gewährt für die elektrische «C-MILL» Kaffeemühle
2 Jahre Garantie, beginnend ab Kaufdatum, auf Materialmängel und
Funktionsstörungen, die auf Produktions- oder Konstruktionsfehler
zurückzuführen sind.
Die Instandstellung des Gerätes ist kostenlos, soweit alle Bedingungen
für die Garantieleistung erfüllt sind.
Bedingungen für Garantieleistungen. Der Garantieschein muss von der
Verkaufstelle zum Kaufzeitpunkt vollständig ausgefüllt werden.
Garantieleistungen dürfen nur von BODUM®autorisierten Stellen

moulin à café électrique à lames C-Mill de BODUM®.
Lisez attentivement les instructions suivantes avant d’utiliser
l’appareil.
IMPORTANTES CONSIGNES
DE SECURITÉ
– Ce moulin à café BODUM®est exclusivement destiné à un usage privé.
Veillez à ne l'utiliser que pour moudre du café, sans quoi vous risque-
riez de l’abîmer.
– Lisez le mode d’emploi et les consignes de sécurité avant d’utiliser
votre appareil pour la première fois. Le non-respect de ces instructions
peut vous exposer à des dangers.
– Après avoir déballé l’appareil, assurez-vous qu’il n’est pas endom-
magé. En cas de doute, ne l’utilisez pas et adressez-vous
immédiatement à votre revendeur.
– Ne laissez pas les emballages (carton, sac plastique, etc.) à la portée
des enfants, pour éviter tout risque d’accident.
– Cet appareil est exclusivement destiné à une utilisation domestique et
n’est pas prévu pour être utilisé à l’extérieur. Ne le placez en aucun cas
sur une source de chaleur (cuisinière à gaz ou électrique) ou à proxi-
mité, ni dans un four chaud.
– Le fabricant ne peut être tenu responsable des éventuels dommages
encourus à la suite d’une utilisation impropre, incorrecte ou déraison-
nable de l’appareil. N’utilisez en aucun cas l’appareil à des fins autres
que celles pour lesquelles il est prévu.

– L’utilisation d’accessoires non recommandés par le fabricant de
l’appareil peut entraîner un risque d’incendie, d’électrocution ou de
blessure.
– Cet appareil est muni d’une fiche polarisée (une lame est plus large
que l’autre). Il n’y a qu’une seule façon d’introduire la fiche dans la
prise, ce qui constitue une sécurité contre les risques d’électrocution.
Si la fiche n’entre pas complètement dans la prise, essayez en sens
inverse. Si cela ne fonctionne toujours pas, contactez un électricien.
N’essayez en aucun cas d’apporter des modifications à la fiche.
– Si l’appareil présente une panne ou un dysfonctionnement quelcon-
que, éteignez-le immédiatement. N’essayez jamais de procéder à la
réparation vous-même. Ne faites appel pour cela qu’à un atelier
de réparation agréé par le fabricant. Le non-respect des consignes de
sécurité énumérées ci-dessus peut vous exposer à de graves dangers.
– Si le cordon de l’appareil doit être réparé ou changé, n’essayez en
aucun cas de le faire vous-même. L’opération nécessite en effet un
outillage particulier. Dans un souci de sécurité, il convient de s'adresser

– Branchez toujours le cordon sur l’appareil d’abord, avant d’introduire
la fiche dans la prise. Pour débrancher l’appareil, éteignez l’appareil

– Retirez la fiche de la prise lorsque vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil, pour
remettre des pièces en place, pour en retirer ou pour procéder au
nettoyage.
– Évitez de toucher des pièces en mouvement.
– Pour éviter tout risque d’incendie, d’électrocution ou de blessure, ne
plongez jamais le cordon, la fiche ou (mentionner la/les pièce

– Avant d’utiliser l’appareil, assurez-vous qu'aucun objet étranger ne se
trouve dans la trémie.
– Cet appareil n’est pas conçu pour être utilisé par de jeunes enfants ou
des personnes handicapées, si ce n’est sous la responsabilité et la
surveillance étroite d’une personne qui veillera au respect de toutes
les consignes de sécurité.
INSTALLATION
– Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane, stable et sèche, à l’abri de
toute source de chaleur. Veillez à ce que l’appareil soit toujours hors
de portée des enfants, en évitant notamment qu’ils puissent attraper
le cordon.
– Assurez-vous que la tension indiquée sur la plaquette signalétique de
l’appareil correspond à celle du réseau.

INFORMATIONS IMPORTANTES
– Il faut surveiller les enfants, afin de s’assurer qu’ils ne jouent pas avec
l’appareil.

les sont réduites ou qui ne disposent pas d’une expérience et/ou de

– Si le cordon de raccordement au secteur de cet appareil est endom-

RANGEMENT POUR LE CORDON
Le moulin à café possède un emplacement pour ranger le cordon. Pour
enrouler ou dérouler le cordon, tenez fermement la partie inférieure du
boîtier d’une main et de l’autre, tirez doucement le socle vers le bas. Le
cordon peut alors être enroulé ou déroulé. Il suffit d’exercer une légère
pression sur le socle pour le remettre en place et bloquer le cordon.
CONNEXION
Cet appareil ne peut être connecté qu’à du courant alternatif d’une
tension de 230 V/50 Hz (version européenne) ou de 120 V/60 Hz (version
É.-U. ou Canada). Fusible de la prise: 6 ampères min.
MISE EN MARCHE ET UTILISATION
Ce moulin à café BODUM®est exclusivement destiné à un usage privé et
conçu pour moudre des grains de café. Il ne peut en aucun cas être
utilisé pour moudre autre chose, ce qui risquerait de l’endommager.
Il est strictement interdit de modifier une quelconque des caractéristi-
ques techniques de l'appareil, en raison des dangers que cela représente.
REMPLISSAGE DE L’APPAREIL
Veillez à ce que le moulin soit débranché avant de le remplir de grains
de café.
Le moulin à café ne peut moudre que 45 g de grains de café à la fois.
(45 g équivalent à 2 couvercles remplis de grains de café.)
DURÉE DE FONCTIONNEMENT
N’utilisez jamais le moulin à café plus de 30 secondes sans interruption,
afin d’éviter toute surchauffe du moteur et tout risque de brûlure!
MOUTURE DES GRAINS DE CAFÉ
– Après avoir rempli le bol de grains de café, placez le couvercle de telle
sorte que la languette du couvercle aille se loger dans l’orifice prévu à
cet effet sur le boîtier.
– Le moulin à café est prêt à fonctionner une fois que la fiche est
branchée dans la prise.
– Appuyez sur la touche de mise en marche et maintenez fermement le
couvercle pendant la durée de fonctionnement de l’appareil.
– Une fois la mouture terminée, retirez la fiche et videz le café moulu.

NETTOYAGE
– Nettoyez toujours l’appareil immédiatement après utilisation.
– Ne nettoyez jamais l’appareil à l’eau et ne le plongez jamais dans l’eau.
– Pour nettoyer le bol métallique, utilisez simplement un pinceau doux
et sec.
RANGEMENT
– Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil, éteignez-le et retirez la fiche.
– Rangez le moulin à café dans un endroit sec et hors de portée des
enfants.
ENTRETIEN
Le moulin à café ne nécessite aucun entretien si ce n’est, de temps en
temps, un contrôle de fonctionnement.
PROBLÈMES
En cas de panne ou de suspicion de panne, débranchez immédiatement
l’appareil. Faites-le contrôler par le magasin agréé BODUM®le plus pro-
che de chez vous et, le cas échéant, faites procéder aux réparations qui
s’imposent. Seul le personnel de l’atelier de réparation agréé est auto-
risé à effectuer les réparations. Toute réparation non effectuée par un
spécialiste peut entraîner un risque pour l’utilisateur, ce dont BODUM®
ne peut en aucun cas être tenu responsable. Si tel était le cas, toute
demande d’intervention en garantie serait refusée.
