Congratulaons for choosing the Booma RC Intelliswitch.
Intelliswitch was designed for giant scale RC and Robocs enthu-
siasts by a giant scale RC and Robocs enthusiast. Intelliswitch
oers features never seen before in Radio Control applicaons in
a compact, light weight and aordable package.
Before you install Intelliswitch please take the me to
read these instrucons. A few simple steps will have
you successfully using this advanced product in no
me at all.

DO’S and DON’TS
Intelliswitch comes with 2 completely independent solid state dig-
ital switches and acve baery monitoring which will balance and
draw current from both baeries for maximum baery consump-
on. V3 also provides acve baery isolano so if one baery fails
the other takes on the load to bring your expensive model home.
DO NOT use Intelliswitch with baeries of dierent voltages or
dierent baery chemistries unless you are an advanced user
that is aware of the consequences. Mixing of dierent baery
voltages or chemistry types when using Intelliswitch may cause
the baery with the highest voltage to be consumed rst. This
may be desirable if you are experienced with modeling or Robot-
ics, however you do this at your own risk.
It is recommended that Intelliswitch is used in conjuncon with
a Booma RC Dual Baery isolator for baery fail-safe single
receiver usage.
NEVER USE INTELLISWITCH (OR ANY DUAL SWITCH) TO SWITCH
AN IGNITION SYSTEM AND RECEIVER SYSTEM AT THE SAME
TIME. INTERFERENCE FROM THE IGNITION SYSTEM MAY CAUSE
LOSS OF CONTROL OF YOUR MODEL.
To switch your models gas ignion system we recommend the
Booma RC Ignion Switch, designed to isolate any ignion inter-
ference from your receiver system.

Lets get started
RSET
SURE
Aer connecng freshly charged baeries to
Intelliswitch you reset the baery usage me-
ters by pressing the GREEN “ON/OFF” buon
once.
Intelliswitch will then ash the leers “SURE”.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU RESET THE CAPACITY
METERS AFTER EACH RECHARGE OF YOUR BATTERIES.
CAPACITY METERING IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!
Connect both baeries to Intelliswitch (see
page 15 for connecon details). Do not con-
nect Intelliswitch to the receiver just yet. The
display will show the leers “RSET”. Intel-
liswitch is asking whether you want to reset
the baery capacity usage meters which of course you want to
aer each baery recharge.
This funconality allows you to monitor how much capacity has
been drawn out of your baeries. Intelliswitch will present you
with the reset opon every me the baeries are connected.
To conrm that you want to reset the capacity meters press the
GREEN “ON/OFF” buon again and Intelliswitch will reset the me-
ters to show 0 mA. To cancel the reset aer selecng sure, press
the RED “ENTER” buon once.
HINT - If you don’t want to reset the meters just press the
RED “ENTER” buon once aer connecng baeries and Intel-
liswitch will keep the exisng capacity informaon.

Turning Intelliswitch ON and OFF
To Switch Intelliswitch ON (aer baery con-
necon is made) PRESS AND HOLD the GREEN
“ON/OFF” buon. Intelliswitch will start to
FLASH “TURN ON”. While ashing press the RED
“ENTER” buon once and Intelliswitch will
switch both baeries on supplying power.

To Switch Intelliswitch OFF - PRESS AND HOLD
the GREEN “ON/OFF” buon.
Intelliswitch will start to FLASH “TURN OFF”.
While ashing press the RED “ENTER” buon
and Intelliswitch will switch both baeries o
and removing power to the receiver(s).
Intelliswitch is supplied with 2 x fail-safe switches. As long as
power is supplied to Intelliswitch it will hold the state of the
switch. Intelliswitch also comes with addional protecon
circuitry to avoid an accidental ON or OFF state.

Sleep Mode
SLEEP MODE WILL ONLY ACTIVATE WHEN INTELLISWITCH IS IN
THE OFF STATE
Intelliswitch uses a state-of-the-art low power technology to maxi-
mise the life of your baeries. While in the o state Intelliswitch
will go into a sleep mode using only 0.4mA to conserve power.
You can leave Intelliswitch connected to the baeries however it
is advisable to disconnect Intelliswitch from the baeries if storing
your model for a long period.
WHAT HAPPENS IN SLEEP MODE?
To conserver power Intelliswitch turns o all unnecessary circuits,
blanks the display and turns o the display processor to conserve
baery power.
WAKING INTELLISWITCH FROM SLEEP MODE.
In sleep mode INTELLISWITCH is monitoring the front panel but-
tons.
To wake Intelliswitch from sleep mode press either of the front
panel buons. The display will light up and show “SYST OFF”.
Intelliswitch is awake and set to display page 1.

Page 1- (Switched On/O Condion) shows baery

Once at the baery type page PRESS AND HOLD the RED “EN-
TER” buon unl the “BATT TypE” changes. Repeatedly pressing
the RED “ENTER” buon will cycle through the dierent baery
chemistry.
Aer selecng the correct chemistry remove your nger and Intel-
liswitch, aer a brief me will start to calibrate for the selected
baery type. Calibraon will take up to 2 minutes.
Baery selecon
IMPORTANT - DO NOT MIX BATTERY CHEMISTRY WHEN USING
INTELLISWITCH. ALWAYS USE BATTERIES OF THE SAME CHEMIS-
TRY AND CAPACITY.
Intelliswitch comes pre-calibrated to monitor voltage levels and
current consumpon of LiFeP04 chemistry baeries. If you are us-
ing LiPo or Lion baeries you will need to re-calibrate Intelliswitch.
Don’t worry, Intelliswitch is easy to calibrate.
How To Calibrate - connect both baeries to Intelliswitch. The
display will ash ”RSET”. Reset Intelliswitch (page 5).
Aer reseng, press the RED “ENTER” buon to page to the
baery ”BATT” display page.
IMPORTANT - FOR BEST CALIBRATION RESULTS, DO NOT
CONNECT INTELLISWITCH OUTPUTS WHILE CALIBRATING

FACTS
Why does one Intelliswitch mA meter show a dierent consump-
on value to the other?
Baeries have an internal resistance. Think of this as a force at-
tempng to stop current from owing out of the baery. Not all
baeries have the same internal resistance. A baery with a lower
internal resistance will oer its power more readily. Intelliswitch
has two completely independent switching and metering circuits.
Each circuit switches and meters one baery. The combinaon of
baery internal resistance, connector and extension lead resis-
tance may show as a higher mA usage from one baery when
compared to another. The aim of metering baery capacity with
your Intelliswitch is to get to know the characteriscs of your bat-
teries so you can monitor the health of your baery packs.
Connecng the outputs of Intelliswitch together.
This will work ne. Actually the Intelliswitch internal circuit does
this so a switch with dual output leads can be used with one or
two receivers. The baery with the highest voltage will supply the
load to the receiver/servos and try to balance the 2 baeries.
Think of 2 buckets of water, each bucket lled slightly dierently.
If you connect the 2 buckets with a hose then the bucket with
higher water level will try to ll the bucket with the lower water
level unl they are equal. It is the same with baeries and this is
why we should always use the same baery type and cell count
when connecng the outputs of Intelliswitch together.

Using Intelliswitch with a Booma RC DUAL-BAT circuit.
Intelliswitch now comes with acve baery balancing so no need
to add a Booma RC DUAL-BAT. This technology provides you with
built in baery redundancy eecvely isolang the baeries from
each other. You can also safely connect the 2 Intelliswitch outputs
together, In a single receiver setup this is like having 2 separate
baery circuits. The Intelliswitch internal microprocessor circuit
also uses a separate internal micro Dual Bat circuit to guarantee
supply to the Intelliswitch microprocessors.
Baery Capacity
DO NOT EVER try to get the full mA capacity out of your bat-
teries! An aempt to do this may end in disaster. Intelliswitch
meters consumpon conservavely but YOU SHOULD ALWAYS
RECHARGE AT 30% to 35% OF BATTERY CAPACITY.
Baery Recharge Guide:
Baery capacity = 1200mA - recharge at 800mA usage.
Baery capacity = 2600mA - recharge at 1800mA usage.
Baery capacity = 3600mA - recharge at 2500mA usage.
Current carrying capacity of connectors.
Intelliswitch V3 will handle 20A per circuit (40A total). However,
JR or Futaba type servo connectors are designed to carry a maxi-
mum of approximately 5 Amps per connector. This is sucient
for most RC models up to 9 servos. If your model has more than
15
9 servos it is recommended to use a deans style ultra connector.
Current capacity will then be limited to Intelliswitch design.
Using Intelliswitch with a voltage regulator
Intelliswitch was designed to work with all current RC products
regulated and unregulated. If you prefer using LifeP04 chemistry
baeries (nominal 6.4v) then Intelliswitch will work excellently in
most RC and Robocs applicaons without a regulator.
If you prefer to use newer higher 7.2 volt servos then we recom-
mend using Intelliswitch with Lion (nominal 8.2v) or Lipo baeries
(nominal 8.4v). These baeries will in most cases require a voltage
regulator like the Booma RC Intelli-Reg, Regulator-Pro or Helli-Reg
Pro. These regulators have been designed to deliver professional
results for the most discerning hi-end user. Intelliswitch may also
be used with all other types of regulators and power buss circuits.

12 Month Replacement Warranty
Booma RC will replace this product within 12 months if found to
be defecve in material and/or workmanship when used in the
intended purpose. The warranty does not cover - Shipping charges
related to any warranty claim. An over voltage or over current
usage beyond stated specicaon. Damage due to system failure,
negligence, abuse, accident, improper installaon or freezing.
