Safety instructions
Make sure to look for the following
symbol in particular when reading the

General instructions
The device complies with the
mandatory safety provisions.
Any improper use, however, may lead
to injuries to persons and material
damage.
Please read the operating manual
carefully before putting the device into
operation. It contains important
information on the mounting, safety,
use and maintenance of the device.
This will enable you to protect yourself
from injury and to prevent damages to
the device.
If you require any further information or
have any other questions regarding the
application and use of the device,
please contact us using the contact
data provided on the back of this
manual.
Please store this manual for later use
or for subsequent owners.
Check the device for visible
damages after unpacking it. Do not
connect the device if it has been
damaged during transport.
This manual applies to several
device variants. It is possible that
individual features are described in the
manual that do not apply to your
device.
Intended use
This device is only intended for use
in private households. The
manufacturer shall not assume any
liability for damages caused by
improper use or incorrect operation.
This device is not intended for
outdoor use.
This device is not intended to be
used with an external timer or a
separate remote control system
(remote operation).
This device may be used by
children from the age of 8 up as well
as by persons with limited physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or a lack
of experience and/or knowledge,
provided they are supervised, have
been instructed in the safe use of the
device and have understood the
dangers involved.
Children must not play with the
device.
Any work involving cleaning and user
maintenance must not be carried out
by children unless they are
supervised.
Do not leave children unattended
when they are near the device.
Burn hazard!
The cooktop and its touchable parts
become hot during use and will remain
hot for some time after switching the
device off. Care must be taken in order
to avoid touching the heating elements.
Children under the age of 8 years
must be kept away from the device
unless they are supervised at all times.

Use the childproofing feature in order
to prevent children from switching on
the cooktop or changing the settings
when they are unattended.
Burn hazard!
Do not store any objects that could
be of interest to children in storage
spaces above or behind the cooktop.
Otherwise, the children will be tempted
to climb onto the device.
Risk of burns and scalding!
Make sure that children are not able
able to pull down hot pots or pans from
the cooktop. Turn the pot and pan
handles to the side and over the work
surface in order to avoid any risk of
burning and scalding!
A special stove guard for children
(available in specialist shops) reduces
the
danger.
All users are responsible for the
maintenance and proper use of the
device in their household.
Installation
Heavy load when taking out and
installing the device. Personal injuries
may occur. Make sure that the device
is lifted out of the packaging by two
persons.
Check the device for visible
damages before installing it. A
damaged device must by no means be
put into operation. A damaged device
may put your safety at risk!
Only use the device when it is
mounted in order to ensure its safe
functioning.
The device may only be connected
to the mains by a specialist electrician
who knows the country-specific
regulations and additional regulations
stipulated by the local power supply
companies in detail and observes them
carefully.
The electrical safety of the device is
only guaranteed if it is connected to a
properly installed protective conductor
system. It is very important that this
basic safety measure has been taken.
When connecting the device, a setup
has to be established, which allows to
disconnect all of the device's poles
from the mains with a contact opening
width of at least 3 mm . Circuit
breakers, fuses, safety cut-outs and
contactors are considered to be
suitable disconnectors.
Danger of electric shock!
The connecting cable must not be
connected to hot hobs. Make sure that
the cable is not clamped or damaged.
Danger of electric shock!
The device must be connected to the
power supply source by means of a
permanent connection and may not be
put into operation via plug-in contacts,
e.g. plugs with earthing contacts.
Repair and maintenance work may
only be carried out by specialists
authorised by the manufacturer.
Improperly carried out installation,
maintenance or repair work may result
in significant dangers for the user that
the manufacturer shall not assume any
liability for.
Defective parts may only be replaced
with original parts supplied by BORA.
Only this way, it is guaranteed that the
parts comply with the safety
requirements.

Danger to life, risk of
poisoning!
due to combustion gases when using
the device at the same time as a
fireplace depending on the air in the
room.
Toxic combustion gases (carbon
monoxide) can be drawn into the living
room from the chimney or the
extraction duct.
Fireplaces depending on room air (e.g.
gas, oil, wood or coal-fired heaters,
continuous-flow water heaters,
instantaneous water heaters) draw in
air from the room in which they are
installed and discharge the exhaust
fumes to the outside via an exhaust
system (e.g. chimney).
When used for exhaust air operation,
the cooktop extractor draws in air from
the room it is installed in and from
neighbouring rooms. If there is
insufficient air, an underpressure will
occur. Toxic gases could be drawn out
of the chimney or extraction ducting
and back into the room.
A sufficient supply of fresh air must
therefore always be ensured.
When using the cooktop extractor and
fireplaces at the same time, the
underpressure in the room in which the
fireplace is installed may not exceed 4
Pa (4 x 10-5 bar). A safety-related
device (e.g. window contact switch,
minimum pressure controller) ensuring
that a safe supply of fresh air is
guaranteed must always be used. The
exhaust air may not be ducted into a
chimney that is used for exhaust gases
of devices operated with gas or other
combustibles. This must be checked
and approved by an authorised person
(e.g. chimney sweeper).
If the cooktop extractor is only used
in air circulation mode, the device can
be operated without any restrictions.
The integrated cooktop extractor
may not be used with other cooktops.
As far as the design of the exhaust
air line is concerned, the official
regulations must be observed.
Use
Information for persons with heart
pacemakers, hearing aids and metallic
implants:
Induction cooktops create a high-
frequency electromagnetic field in the
area of the cooking zones. Under
unfavourable conditions, heart
pacemakers, hearing aids or metallic
implants may be negatively influenced
or start to malfunction when in the
immediate vicinity of the cooking
zones.
A negative influence on the proper
functioning of the heart pacemaker is
improbable.
However, if you have any doubt,
please contact the manufacturer of the
heart peacemaker or consult your
doctor.

Burn hazard!
Do not touch hot hobs.
Always keep children away from the
device. The residual heat indicator
warns of hot hobs.
Switch the cooking zone off via the
operating panel after using it. Do not
rely on the pan recognition system.
Burn hazard!
If the hob is heating, but the indicator
is not working, switch the device off.
Fire hazard!
Do not place any inflammable
objects on the cooktop.
Burn hazard!
Do not leave any objects made of
metal (e.g. pot cover, extractor cover,
knives, forks and cooking tops) on the
cooktop. These objects can heat up
very fast and may cause burns.
Prevent liquid meals from boiling
over.
Do not touch the hot hobs with a
device connection cable. This could
cause damage to the cable insulations
and the cooktop.
Fire hazard!
Do not leave the cooktop unattended
when it is switched on!
Empty cooking pots can cause
damage to the glass ceramic.
Overheated oil or fat can easily ignite.
Fire hazard! Do not leave oil or fat to
heat up unattended. If oil catches fire,
do not use water to put the fire out.
Suffocate the fire, for example by using
a lid.
Risk of injury!
Always keep the hob and and the
base of the pot dry. If there are liquids
between the base of the pot and the
hob, a steam pressure can be built up
that could discharge very suddenly.
Danger of electric shock!
If there are any cracks, fissures or
fractures in the glass ceramic, switch
the device off immediately and
disconnect it from the mains (fuse
box).
Do not store any small objects or
paper below the device as they could
be sucked in and cause damage to the
fan or impair the proper functioning of
the cooling.
Risk of explosion!
Aluminium foil or any other
inflammable materials (sprays) may
not be stored close to the cooktop.
Do not place any hot pots or pans in
the area of the operating panel. This
can cause damage to the electronics
located underneath the panel.
Do not place any hot pots or pans on
the extractor cover and do not touch
the edge of the extractor opening with
the hot pots or pans. This could cause
damage to the plastic parts.
Do not use the cooktop extractor
without the stainless steel grease filter
and without the extractor cover. This
enables you to prevent fat and dirt
deposits from accumulating in the
device and objects from being
accidentally sucked in.
Do not leave any objects in the
immediate vicinity of the cooktop
extractor. They may be sucked due to
the air flow. This may cause damage to
the device.

Fire hazard!
Clean or replace the filters at regular
intervals. Fire hazard due to fat
deposits in the stainless steel fat filter.
Fire hazard!
Do not carry out any work involving
an open flame (e.g. flambéing) when
the cooktop extractor is switched on.
Fire hazard due to sucked in kitchen
fat.
Do not use a steam cleaner for
cleaning. The steam may reach live
parts and cause a short-circuit.
Avoiding damage to the cooktop
Make sure that the base of the
cooking utensils as well as the cooking
zone are clean and dry.
Always lift the cooking utensils off
the cooktop, do not drag them over the
surface. Avoid scratches and abrasion
on the surface.
Do not use the cooktop surface as
kitchen worktop. Hard and pointed
objects may cause damage to the
surface.
Make sure that no foods or drinks
containing sugar or salt are spilled on
the hot cooking zones. This could
cause damage to the surface. If foods
or drinks containing sugar are spilled
on the hot cooking zone nevertheless,
remove them immediately.
Make sure to prevent food from
boiling over.
Noises
The following noises may occur in the
cooking utensils, depending on the
material and the finish of the base,
when using induction cooktops:
A humming may occur when using a
high power level. It decreases or
disappears if the power level is
decreased.
A crackling or whistling sound may
occur when using cooking utensils
whose base is made of different
materials (e. g. sandwich base).
Clicking sounds may occur during
electronic switching procedures
especially at low power levels.
In order to increase the service life of
the electronic system, the device is
equipped with a cooling fan. If the
device is used intensively, the fan will
switch on and you will hear a buzzing
sound. The cooling fan may also
continue running after the device has
been switched off.

Operating principle
The glass ceramic cooktop features electronic
sensor keys that respond to finger contact.
You operate the device by touching the
corresponding sensor key with your finger.
Keep the finger on the sensor key until you
either hear an acoustic signal or the display
changes accordingly.

Operating modes
This manual applies to several device variants.
An exhaust air or air circulation variant are
available for this device that differ in terms of
features. It is possible that individual features
are described in the manual that do not apply
to your device.
You may use the device in exhaust air or air
circulation operation, depending on the variant
supplied.
Exhaust air operation
The air extracted from the
cooktop is cleaned by means of
the fat filter and directed to the
outside through a duct system.
Note: The exhaust air may neither be
released into a currently used smoke or
exhaust air chimney nor into a shaft used for
venting rooms that fireplaces are installed in.
If the exhaust air is to be directed into a
smoke or exhaust air chimney that is not in
operation, this must be checked and approved
by the competent chimney sweeper.
As far as the design of the duct system is
concerned, please observe the planning
documents provided by BORA.
If the exhaust air is directed through the outer
wall, please use the wall conducts
recommended in the planning documents .
Air circulation operation
The air extracted from the
cooktop is cleaned by means of
the fat filter and an activated
carbon filter before being directed
back into the room the device is
installed in.
Note: In order to remove the odours during
air circulation operation, you must use an
activated carbon filter. For reasons of hygiene
and health, make sure that the activated
carbon filter is replaced at the recommended
intervals. For further information on replacing
and maintaining the filters, please refer to the
chapter on cleaning and maintenance.
