1. Introduction
Ciao! Congratulations on purchasing this Boretti charcoal igniter. With this
igniter, you will have your barbecue fired up in no time without using any
other lighting aids. Bearing in mind how powerful this igniter is, we ask you
to carefully read this user manual and follow all the advice and warnings it
contains. For now, enjoy using the igniter and good luck preparing all your
favorite dishes.

3. General safety warnings

it outdoors.

3.1 Work area safety
*Keep the work area clean and adequately illuminated.
*Untidy or dark work areas can lead to accidents.
*Do not use the igniter in explosive environments, such as near flammable
liquids, gases, or dust.
*Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance when using the igniter.
Do not let yourself get distracted when using the igniter, because you
could lose control of the device.
3.2 Personal safety
*Stay alert, look at what you are doing, and use common sense when
using the igniter.
*Do not use the igniter if you are tired or under the influence of narcotics,
alcohol, or medication. One brief moment of distraction while using the
igniter may result in serious personal injury.
Warning!
There is a risk of injury caused by sparks coming off ignited wood and
charcoal. Prevent sparks!
*The nozzle gets very hot. There is a risk of burns. Do not touch the nozzle
before it has cooled down completely.
*Never point the hot air flow at people or animals.
*Do not use the igniter near flammable substances or gases.
*Never block the hot air flow by blocking or covering the air outlet.
*Always place the igniter on a level, fire-proof surface with the stand.
*Never leave the igniter unattended when it is turned on.
*Careless handling of the igniter may result in fire.
*Heat can be transferred to flammable materials that are covered.
*Keep the heat sink away from cinders.

*Make sure that the air inlets are never blocked.
*Do not immerse the igniter in water or any other liquid.
3.3 Using and maintaining the igniter
*Unplug the power cord from the power supply before making any
modifications, replacing accessories, or storing the igniter. Such safety
precautions will reduce the risk of the igniter being activated accidentally.
*Store the igniter out of the reach of children and do not let anyone who
is not familiar with the igniter and these instructions use the igniter.
*Check for incorrect placement or attachment of moving parts, breakage
of parts, and possible other circumstances that may affect the use of the
igniter.
Warning
Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless and easily
distracted. Always remember that one brief moment of distraction is
enough to inflict serious injury.
Make sure that the air inlets and air outlets are always clean and free from
dirt. Clean the igniter using a cotton cloth when it has cooled down and
has been unplugged. Never use turpentine, paint thinner, benzene or other
flammable or combustible substances to clean the igniter. This is both
unnecessary and dangerous.

3.4 Electrical safety

when your body is grounded.
*Do not expose the igniter to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the
igniter increases the risk of electric shock.
*Do not misuse the power cord. Never carry the igniter by the power cord
and never unplug the igniter by pulling on the power cord. Keep the power
cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or
tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
*When using the igniter outdoors, also use an extension cord for outdoor
use. Using a power cord that is designed for outdoor use reduces the risk
of electric shock. Use the battery only with the indicated charger.
*Do not expose the igniter to rain or wet conditions. Water entering the
igniter increases the risk of electric shock.
*Do not throw away this instruction manual. Consult these instructions
regularly and use them to instruct others who (may) also use the igniter.
When lending this tool to someone, also give them these instructions to
prevent improper use of the product and possible injuries.

3.5 Assembly safety
Warning
Do not use this product if it has not been fully assembled or if parts seem
to be missing or damaged. Using a product that has not been properly
and fully assembled may result in serious personal injury.

for this product. Any such modifications constitute improper use and
may create hazardous situations, which may result in serious personal
injury.
*Carefully inspect the product to check for any breakage or damage
sustained in transit.
*Do not throw away the packaging material before you have carefully
inspected the product and used it to your full satisfaction.

4. How to light a barbecue step by step
1. Before lighting your barbecue, make a small pile or pyramid of charcoal (Fig.1)
so that the heat can spread more easily after you light the charcoal.

2. Plug the device into a suitable socket (Fig.2)
The igniter’s plug must be compatible with the socket. Never modify the
plug in any way. If necessary, use an approved and safe (fully unwound)
extension cord.

3. Set the igniter to position II (high temperature) and touch the charcoal
until it starts to glow red hot (Fig. 3).
*Ideally, start the fire where several pieces of charcoal come together.
*If you want to grill at a high temperature, create multiple ignition points
so that the fire will immediately reach high temperatures.
*If you want to grill at lower temperatures (low & slow), light only one
single ignition point so that the charcoal burns gradually and at a lower
temperature.

4. Withdraw the igniter (Fig.4) as soon as you see the first sparks or the
charcoal starts to glow red hot.
*This is to prevent the igniter from overheating and it ensures that the heat
is spread better by the charcoal.
Warning!
If you leave it too late to withdraw the igniter, the device will get damaged
or parts of it may even melt. Stay at a safe distance after lighting the
charcoal.
*Continue to blow air onto the fire (from a distance), with the device
in position I (low temperature), until you achieve the desired result.

5. Wait and enjoy
*Unplug the device and let it cool down (somewhere out of the reach
of children).
*It may take a while for the charcoal/barbecue to reach the desired
temperature.

1. Inleiding
Ciao! Gefeliciteerd met de aankoop van deze Boretti barbecue-aansteker.
Dankzij deze aansteker hoeft u de barbecue binnen no-time aan zonder
het gebruik van andere aanmaakmaterialen. Omdat deze aansteker vrij
krachtig is vragen wij u deze handleiding zorgvuldig door te nemen en alle
adviezen en waarschuwingen in acht te nemen. Voor nu: veel plezier tijdens
het gebruik van de aansteker en succes met het bereiden van uw favoriete
gerechten.

3. Algemene veiligheidswaarschuwingen
Waarschuwing: Lees de handleiding zorgvuldig voordat
u de aansteker gebruikt!

gebruikershandleiding in zijn geheel te hebben doorgenomen en te
begrijpen voordat dit product gebruikt wordt. Bewaar deze handleiding
voor raadpleging in de toekomst.

Lees alle veiligheidswaarschuwingen en instructies goed door. Het niet
volgen van de waarschuwingen en instructies kan leiden tot elektrische
schokken, brand en/of ernstig letsel.

3.1 Veiligheid van het werkgebied
*Houd het werkgebied schoon en goed verlicht.
*Rommelige of donkere werkgebieden kunnen tot ongelukken leiden.
*Gebruik de aansteker niet in explosieve omgevingen, zoals in de
aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof.
*Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt als de aansteker gebruikt
wordt. Laat u niet afleiden, hierdoor kunt u de controle over het apparaat
verliezen.
3.2 Persoonlijke veiligheid
*Blijf alert, kijk goed wat u doet en gebruik uw gezonde verstand als u een
de aansteker gebruikt.
*Gebruik de aansteker niet als u moe bent of onder de invloed van drugs,
alcohol of medicatie. Eén enkel moment van onoplettendheid tijdens het
gebruik van de aansteker kan tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel leiden.
Waarschuwing!
Er bestaat risico op letsel veroorzaakt door vonken gegenereerd door
ontstoken hout en houtskoolstof. Voorkom vonken!
*Het mondstuk wordt erg heet. Er bestaat risico op brandwonden. Raak
het mondstuk niet aan voordat dit volledig afgekoeld is.
*Richt de hete luchtstroom nooit op mens of dieren.
*Gebruik de aansteker niet in de buurt van licht ontvlambare stoffen of
gassen.
*Blokkeer nooit de hete luchtstroom door de luchtuitlaat te blokkeren
of af te dekken.
*Zet de aansteker altijd neer op een egaal, vuurvast oppervlak met de voet.
*Laat de aansteker nooit onbeheerd achter wanneer deze in werking is.
*Er kan brand ontstaan als de aansteker niet zorgvuldig wordt behandeld.

*Warmte kan worden overgedragen naar brandbare materialen
die zijn bedekt.
*Houd het koellichaam uit de buurt van de sintels.
*Zorg ervoor dat de luchtinlaatopeningen nooit zijn geblokkeerd.
*Dompel de aansteker niet onder in water.
3.3 Gebruik en verzorging van de aansteker
*Haal de stekker uit de voedingsbron voordat u eventuele wijzigingen
doorvoert, accessoires vervangt of de aansteker opbergt. Dergelijke
preventieve veiligheidsmaatregelen verkleinen het risico op onopzettelijk
starten van de aansteker.
*Berg de aansteker buiten bereik van kinderen op en laat personen die niet
bekend zijn met de aansteker en deze instructies het gereedschap niet
bedienen.
*Controleer op een verkeerde plaatsing of binding van bewegende onderdelen,
breuk van onderdelen en eventuele andere omstandigheden die invloed
kunnen hebben op het gebruik van de aansteker
Waarschuwing
Laat vertrouwd zijn met dit product niet leiden tot zorgeloosheid of
onoplettendheid. Vergeet niet dat één moment van onoplettendheid
voldoende is om ernstig letsel toe te brengen.
Zorg ervoor dat de luchtinlaat en -uitlaat-openingen altijd schoon en vrij zijn
van vuil. Reinig de aansteker met een kantoenen doek als deze afgekoeld
is en de stekker niet in het stopcontact zit. Gebruik nooit terpentijn,
verfafbijtmiddel, benzine of andere ontvlambare of brandbare stoffen
of om de aansteker te reinigen, dit is niet nodig en is gevaarlijk.

3.4 Elektrische veiligheid

*De stekker van de aansteker moet in het stopcontact passen. De stekker
niet wijzigen.
*Ongewijzigde stekkers en bijbehorende stopcontacten verkleinen het
risico op elektrische schokken.
*Vermijd lichaamscontact met geaarde oppervlakken, zoals leidingen,
radiators en koelkasten. Het risico op elektrische schokken is groter als
uw lichaam geaard is.
*De aansteker niet blootstellen aan regen of natte omstandigheden. Als
water de aansteker binnendringt, dan vergroot dit het risico op elektrische
schokken.
*Het snoer niet misbruiken. Het snoer nooit gebruiken om de aansteker
te dragen of deze uit het stopcontact te trekken. Het snoer uit de buurt
van warmte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende onderdelen houden.
Beschadigde of in de knoop geraakte snoeren verkleinen het risico op
elektrische schokken.
*Als u de aansteker buiten gebruikt, gebruik dan ook een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor buitengebruik. Het gebruik van een snoer dat geschikt is
voor buitengebruik verkleint het risico op elektrische schokken. De batterij
alleen gebruiken met de aangegeven lader.
*De aansteker niet blootstellen aan regen of natte omstandigheden. Als
water de aansteker binnendringt, dan vergroot dit het risico op elektrische
schokken.
