Information
The Solar+Plus is designed for use in domestic applications in conjunction with
Solar Photovoltaic systems up to 4kW. Before installing the Solar+Plus please read
this installation manual carefully and ensure all requirements are met.
The manufacturer declines any responsibilities as regards damages deriving from
an incorrect installation and a failure to follow the instructions detailed in the
document.
Care should be taken when moving the product. Check the weight before
any lifting. This is for the safety of the installer and customer. Ensure the
product and in particular the box are installed in a safe location and the
mounting structure is adequate to withstand the additional loads.
Take care when moving equipment to ensure there is no damage to the
equipment or existing structure and ttings.
Install the equipment in a dry ventilation location. Do not install the equipment
in the following places as they will lead to a malfunction of the equipment: areas
with corrosive gases, factories where the electrical voltage experiences wide
uctuations, places with strong electromagnetic waves, places with inammable
materials or gases, other special environments.
All relevant supplies must be isolated or disconnected before commencing
any work.

purchaser. Read the information supplied with the equipment carefully
before installing and using it. The manufacturer declines any responsibility

The Solar+Plus is a single phase step down transformer designed to protect PV
inverters from voltages exceeding 253V. The Solar+Plus monitors the
incoming supply voltage and maintains connection grid connection until the
voltage reaches or exceeds 253V. At this point, to prevent the PV inverter from
an over voltage shut down the Solar+Plus activates and steps down incoming
voltage.

The Solar+Plus is designed to be installed in series with the PV inverter, installed
between the inverter and the consumer unit.
The cable from the Solar+Plus to the consumer unit should be appropriately
sized, protected, secured and kept to a minimum distance not exceeding
1 meter.
NOTE: The Solar+Plus lid can only be removed when the switch is in the off
position. The installation location should be clean, dry and well ventilated.

Installation
The Solar+Plus is designed to be a direct connection replacement for the PV
Inverter AC isolator at the consumer unit.
The user wiring connections are indicated in the diagram below.
Connect the mains side cable from the consumer unit to the Solar+Plus
Input terminals
Connect the secondary cable from the PV Inverter Solar+Plus output
terminals
On completion of installation the tightness of all electrical connections
should be checked before energising the Solar+Plus.

User instructions
The Solar+Plus by default steps down the load on start-up. The green
status light displays to demonstrate this. On start-up the Solar+Plus will
assess the incoming voltage. If the incoming voltage is below 253V on start up
and remains below 253V for 5 minutes, the Solar+Plus will disengage and go
into standby mode. The red status light displays to demonstrate this.
NOTE: On installation of the Solar+Plus, it will go into start up mode.
On start up the System will step down the incoming voltage for
5 minutes.
The green status light will be illuminated to demonstrate this, if the
incoming voltage remains below 253V for the entire 5 minutes the
Solar+Plus will then enter standby mode, the red status light will then
illuminate. Check to ensure the Solar+Plus does enter standby mode.
In the event the Solar+Plus detects a supply voltage greater than 253V the
internal relay will de-energise and disconnect the PV inverter from the
supply. The relay will remain de-energised until the Solar+Plus detects the
supply voltage has dropped below the threshold voltage and remained there
for 5 minutes.
The Solar+Plus can be visually identied as being energised or
de-energised by the indicating status light.
When the Status light shows as red, the Solar+Plus is energised and in
standby mode.
When the status light shows as green, the Solar+Plus is de-energising the
incoming mains supply to the PV inverter.

manual to ensure a full guarantee for a period of 5 years from the date of
manufacture.
This guarantee is a parts only guarantee, limited to the replacement of faulty
components only.
