1 Installing a FLEXIDOME In-ceiling Housing for Plenums
The graphic below illustrates the complete installation of a FLEXIDOME In-ceiling Housing for
Plenums. The table below the graphic identifies each main part and the quantity needed of
each part for installation.

* Parts 1 - 3 come with the FLEXIDOME camera (sold separately). Parts 4 - 7 are included in
the VDA-PLEN-DOME kit. Part 8 is the VGA-IC-SP In-ceiling Support kit (sold separately).

Installation Instructions
1. Cut a hole in the ceiling per the dimensions in the figure below. If you are installing the
camera in a hard ceiling, create three (3) recesses, 6.2 mm (1/4 in.) diameter x 6.2 mm
(1/4 in.) deep, in the ceiling at the camera mounting screw locations as shown on the
Flush Mount Template (included in the shipping box).

2. Create hole(s) in the In-ceiling Housing for Plenums for 1/2-inch conduit fitting(s) in the
appropriate location.
3. Install two (2) #6 Toggle Bolt assemblies through the holes in the raised portions of the
mounting flange.
4. Install conduit fitting(s).
5. Connect external wiring, if appropriate.
6. Insert the In-ceiling Housing for Plenums assembly through the hole in the ceiling.
7. Tighten the toggle bolts.
8. Start two (2) of the #10 x 3/8-inch screws in the corresponding holes in the flange of the
In-ceiling Housing for Plenums.
9. Remove the screw holding the Earth Ground wire (yellow/green) and the wire clamp.

10. Discard the wire clamp.
11. Re-install the Earth Ground, with the terminal oriented close to the housing body, with
the screw.
12. Tighten the screw securely.
13. Finish wiring the camera as appropriate.
14. Pull the wire bundle and rubber strain relief tightly to and slightly up over the housing.
15. Feed this up into the In-ceiling Housing for Plenums, with the keyhole mounting slots
over the two (2) pre-installed #10 screws.
16. Rotate the housing in the In-ceiling Housing for Plenums until the third slot allows
insertion of the third #10 screw.
17. Tighten all three (3) #10 screws.
18. Complete the installation following the instructions in the Installation Manual (included
on the CD in the shipping box).
