Operation
•Neverallowchildrenoruntrainedpeopletooperate
themachine.Localregulationsmayrestrictthe
ageoftheoperator.Theownerisresponsiblefor
trainingalloperatorsandmechanics.
•Theowner/operatorcanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;longpants;substantial,slip-resistant
footwear;andhearingprotection;alsowearadust
maskindustyconditions.Tiebacklonghairand
donotwearlooseclothingorloosejewelry.
•Becomefamiliarwiththesafeoperationofthe
equipment,operatorcontrols,andsafetysigns.
•Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operator’sposition.Allowthemachinetocool
beforeservicing,adjusting,fueling,cleaning,or
storingit.
•Knowhowtostopthemachineandshutoffthe
enginequickly.
•Inspecttheareawhereyouwillusethemachine
andremoveallobjectsthatthemachinecould
throw.
•Evaluatetheterraintodeterminetheappropriate
equipmentandanyattachmentsoraccessories
requiredtooperatethemachineproperlyand

shutofftheengineandwaitforallmoving
partstostop.Removethekeytoprevent
someonefromaccidentallystartingthe
engine.
•Staybehindthehandlesandawayfromthe
broomwhileoperatingthemachine.
•Keepyourface,hands,feet,andanyother
partofyourbodyorclothingawayfrom
concealed,moving,orrotatingparts.
WARNING
Therotatingbroomcanthrowstonesand
otherforeignobjects,causingserious
personalinjurytoyouorbystanders.
•Keeptheworkingareaclearandfreeofall
objectsthatthebroomcouldpickupand
throw.
•Keepbystandersaway.
CheckingtheSweeping
Path
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Abroomsweepswiththetipsofitsbristles.Whenyou
applytoomuchdownwardpressure,thebroomno
longerusesitstips;thebroomisnowworkingwiththe
sidesofthebristles.Thislimitstheickingactionof
thebristlesandsweepingeffectiveness,decreasing
theservicelifeofthebroom.
1.Drivetoaat,dustyorsnowyareaandstop
themachine.
2.Engagethebroom,lowerittothegroundto
sweepawaysomesnowordebris,andthen
raiseit.
3.Disengagethebroomandshutoffthemachine.
4.Waitforallmovingpartstostopbeforeleaving
theoperatingposition.

Sharpobjectscanbecomeentangledinthe
bristlesandcancausepersonalinjury.
Wearglovesandusecautionwhencleaning
foreignobjectsoutofthebroom;neveruse
yourbarehands.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
thebroom,movethemotion-controlleversto
theNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,andengagethe
parkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Lowerthekickstandsonthebroom;referto
UsingtheKickstands(page9).
4.Disconnectthehosesfromthelow-ow
assemblyandconnectthehosestogether.
5.Disconnectthehosesfromthehigh-ow
assemblyandconnectthehosestogether.
6.Movethebroomhosesawayfromthemachine.
7.Disengageeachcoupler-pinonthemachine.
