BOW Industries introduces the Model MX2-N Motor & Manual Operated Hard Drive Destroyer. The MX2-N, while motor
driven, still includes the manual feature found on all BOW’s hard drive destroyers, allowing the operator full time
operation whether electrical power is available or not. A feature none of the c ompetition can claim.
Designed with emergency situations in mind where electric power may not be available and quick destruction is a must,
the low cost and versatility make this destroyer perfect for both the government and commercial markets where tight
budgets are an important consideration.
FAST MCOMPACT MPOWERFUL MLIGHT WEIGHT MPORTABLE MVERSATILE
Inserting a hard drive and closing the safety door automatically starts the destruction process, allowing destruction every
10 seconds (12 seconds for 50 Hz units). After destruction the destroyer pushes the hard drive out for easy removal. If
power is ever interrupted the operator has the manual feature to continue. No interruption or setup. Simply turn the easy
to turn handle and continue the operation manually.
Government specifications require that a hard drive needs to be destroyed so that no equipment or persons can spin or
operate the drive. Physical destruction is preferred because it gives clear visible evidence that the hard drive is
inoperable. The MX2-N easily meets these requirements and is an inexpensive alternative to expensive power destroyers
and shredders.
The internal workings of the unit press down on the drive bending it approximately 90 degrees. The bend renders the
drive useless by bending the platters, damaging the heads, motor and circuit board. To keep speed at an optimum the
MX2-N resets automatically. No time is wasted moving the blade back into position or turning the handle backwards.
With years of data from our customers these destroyers have proven they are reliable enough to offer an 18 month
standard factory warranty, more than any of our competitors.
This small heavy-duty destroyer is maintenance free and completely self-contained. No messy fluids or external
components to deal with and no adjustments or calibrations necessary.
Today, with the threat of identity theft and the war on terrorism still raging, it is important to keep information secure and
out of the wrong hands. In emergency situations destruction by rapid and reliable means to insure that the information is
irretrievable is top priority. It is for these situations that the MX2-N is perfectly suited.

When the BAT Universal Power Option is added to the MX2-N, the user has versatility in all environments by allowing the
MX2-N to operate in three power modes: Battery Power, AC Wall Power, or Manually. The batteries hold a charge
sufficient to destroy more than 100 hard drives. Anytime the MX2-N with BAT is plugged into a standard wall outlet the
batteries are being charged, even while destroying hard drives.
It the battery indicators show low power, the unit can be simply plugged into a standard wall outlet for both standard
operation and quick charging. An optional battery pack can also be plugged in to continue under battery power.
In addition the destroyer includes the manual feature found on all BOW’s hard drive destroyers, allowing the operator full
time operation whether battery or electrical power is available or not. Features not found any place else.
Available Options
(for more details please visit our website)
Laptop Option with Holder (LTH) – Allows the destroyer to process 2.5” Form Factor Laptop Drives. Swapping supports
takes approximately 10 seconds. The holder allows the operator to stow the supports when not in use. The magnetic
mounting enables the holder to simply mount to the back of the unit. When the CASE option is ordered a tool box is
supplied instead of the holder.
Universal Power (BAT) – Allow the MX2-N to operate in three modes: Battery Power, AC Wall Power, or Manually. The
BAT option adds the battery feature to the standard unit.
External Battery Pack (EBP) – Adds an additional external battery pack to the MX2-N with BAT option.
Battery Charger (CHG) – Allows the EBP External Battery Pack to be charged separately from the destroyer’s on board
charger. Allows the operator to have a fully charged battery ready to go at all times.
Rear Output Slide (ROS) - The hard drives typically are removed from the front of the unit. Because of the versatility of
BOW’s destroyers this option also allows for the ejection of the hard drives out the back of the unit, giving the user the
ability to discharge the drive into a disposal bin or container, requiring less operator handling and increasing throughput
by up to 20%.
Rackmountable Slide-out Shelf (EIA) – For mounting in standard 19-inch EIA racks. This option allows the user to
conveniently stow the destroyer when not in use and pull it out when needed, saving all too valuable table-top space. This
option includes the MNT kit (see below).
Remote Control Communication (RCC) – RJ45 connector for operating destroyer with other equipment such as
computers and robotics.
Universal Mount Kit (MNT) – This option allows the customer to mount the destroyer to various surfaces, including
carts, truck floors, racks, etc.
Transport & Storage Case (CASE) – A heavy duty Pelican® case with custom insert made specifically for the destroyer.
