Introduction
The Pure induct is an advanced air purification appliance, based on the unique and
patented ASPRA®Technology from VFA Solutions B.V. With this unique technology
even the smallest impurities can be filtered from the air, such as: organic materials like
viruses, bacteria, prions, spores, and animal substances and inorganic particles like soot,
originating from traffic and wood smoke. Fine particles can cause heart and vascular
diseases, cancer and even premature death. Especially ultrafine dust can penetrate the
lungs to get into the bloodstream. Brink Pure induct air purification systems do not use
fibre filters, as these form a breeding ground for microbes. Instead, Brink uses collectors
which prevent microbial growth. The system is optionally equipped with filter material to
remove gases, such as toxic traffic gasses and ozone.
The ASPRA®technology has been tested by several institutes, such as VITO, ECN and TNO.
Their tests confirm that the purification efficiency is very high for all atmospheric particles
(range 0.1 µm - 10 µm). Hence, contrary to most standard ventilation filters, the ASPRA
technology is also very effective for removing ultrafine particulate matter and nanoparticles.

3. Functional overview
3.1 Intended use
The Pure induct is designed to purify the air inside your existing air ventilation system. It
removes harmful particles such as particulate matter, pollen and microbes from the air
in your ventilation ducts even before it reaches your room and eventually, your lungs.
Combined with an optional Pure induct ACF it also removes gasses and odours from the
air in your ventilation ducts. Ventilation is an indispensable component of healthy indoor
air; it is the only conventional method to decrease the carbon dioxide concentration
caused by breathing and combustion processes. By using the Pure induct you can profit
from all ventilation benefits while not having to worry about introducing harmful particles
from traffic and industry into your indoor air.
The Pure induct fits into any HVAC system, before or after the air handling unit. Once the
appliance is installed and turned on, it will purify the air in your ducts. The low pressure
drop of the Pure induct system makes it possible for your HVAC system to operate at
a low speed, reducing energy costs. Due to the high filter efficiency of the Pure induct
system, your HVAC system is protected against the accumulation of dust and fungi, which
also improves your indoor air quality.
To optimize the operation of your Pure induct, make sure your Pure induct system is
suitable for the building size and capacity of your HVAC system.
Air Cleaning Results
Brink and distributors make no claim as to the specific air cleaning results that are
achieved under the user’s individual operating conditions. The air quality improvements
that can be realized with the Pure induct in indoor environments depends to a significant
degree on circumstantial factors, which are out of the control of Brink or distributors.
Important factors which will influence the total effectiveness and performance of the air
cleaner include:
• Type of air pollutants present
• Rate of pollution
• Pollutant concentration
• Size of the indoor environment (room size)
• Flowrate of the HVAC system
• Location and positioning of the air cleaner.

Electrostatic section [4]
The electrostatic section eliminates viruses and charges particles in the air allowing them
to be captured in the collector unit.
Control box [3]
The control box houses most of the electronics and the main on/off switch. The control
box should not be opened by anyone other than qualified Brink personnel.
Collecting box
The Pure induct is supplied with the Pure induct collector box. The collecting box serves
to remove viruses, bacteria, prions, yeast spores, animal dust, and soot from the air. In
standard use, the collecting box contains two collectors.
Brink recommends replacing your collectors on average every 3 months (at constant
use). You can deviate from this if you have received a personal replacement advice from
Brink or when your collectors are saturated before that time. Keep in mind that under
higher pollution levels, your collectors need to be replaced more frequently. In the first few
months, regularly check your collector visually concerning the saturation degree to see
whether or not it needs replacement and to identify your personal replacement period. For
guidelines how to do this, see 5. Use.
Pure induct ACF
Placing a Pure induct ACF in addition to the standard collector will allow the collector unit
to also remove gasses and smells released by traffic, tobacco smoke and ozone (from
the outside air). The Pure induct ACF should be replaced on average every 3 months,
depending on the saturation.

4.2 Installing the Pure induct
Follow the steps as described below to install the Pure induct. Applicable for all situations:
Do not remove the inlet guard on the front and back of the appliance and do not connect
the Pure induct to a power outlet before finishing the installation.
1. Select the location of the Pure induct including the collecting unit.
• Make sure, when outside air needs to be cleaned before distribution indoors, the
Pure induct is connected to the inlet-duct before the air is distributed throughout
the building.
• Make sure there is enough space to install the Pure induct including the collecting
unit.
• Make sure the duct distance between the Pure induct and the collecting unit is not
more than 3 meter. For an optimal result, place the collecting unit directly behind
the Pure induct.
• Make sure the Pure induct can easily be reached after installation to make
maintenance possible.
• Make sure the on/off, the collecting unit (lid) and the control box can easily be
accessed to allow for maintenance and repairs.
• Make sure the Pure induct is protected from possible water leakage and condensation.
• When using mounting brackets for the Pure induct, make sure the wall or ceiling is
strong enough to install the Pure induct to.
• Make sure the Pure induct can be connected to a grounded power outlet (~110-240
VAC, 50-60 Hz).
2. Connect the collecting unit to the Pure induct.
• Follow the next steps to instal the collecting unit directly behind the Pure induct.
When installing the collecting unit seperate from the Pure induct, make sure the
connection is leak-proof.
• Hold the collecting unit against the electrostatic section (at the side of the power
cord).
• Place the flange clamps on the flanges of the electrostatic section and collecting unit
to connect both pieces to each other.
• Use the M5 bolts and M5x40 nuts that are supplied along with the machine to
connect the flange clamp.
• Remark: If it is necessary to disconnect the collecting unit entirely: do not reach
into the application and do not touch any of the inner components. This can
damage the application and affect the operation of the application.
3. Install the Pure induct in the ducts.
• Allow for sufficient space to install the collecting unit when installing the collecting
unit seperate from the Pure induct.
• If necessary, attach the Pure induct to the wall or ceiling using mounting brackets
suited for ducts with Ø200 mm, see picture Mounting examples (page 15). The M8
threaded rod creates the connection with the mounting brackets.
• Make sure the Pure induct is installed in the correct direction. The air should flow in
the same direction as the air flow direction indicator on the air purifier.
• Make sure the connection of the Pure induct (and the collecting unit(s)) to the
ventilation duct is leak-proof.
• See picture Installation examples (page 14) for examples how to connect the Pure
induct and the collecting unit to the existing ventilation duct.

Air flow direction
5.1 Before first use/Changing the collectors
Before first use, new collectors need to be placed in the collector box. During use, the
collectors should be replaced periodically for optimal air cleaning efficiency. Use the steps
described below to replace your collectors.
1. Flip the main switch [1] to position 0 to turn OFF the Pure induct.
2. Open the Pure induct collector lid [6] with collecting unit locks [7]
3. Remove saturated collectors. Follow the guidelines as mentioned at 1.1 Safety
measures and the safety guidelines of your workenvironment when removing the
saturated collectors.
4. Remove the new collectors from the packaging and place them in the collecting unit.
White collectors should always be the first collector to be placed in the unit (closest
to the main switch), optional collectors always last.
5. Close the Pure induct collector box lid [6] with collecting unit locks [7]
6. Used collectors, including ACF’s, can be disposed in your residential waste bin.
Brink suggests placing used filters in the package of the new filters before disposing.
7. Flip the main switch back to position 1 to turn ON the Pure induct. Allow the unit to
start running.
5.2 Checking the collectors for saturation
Note! To guarantee the optimal operation of the air purifier, it is important to
periodically REPLACE the collector (particle filter) and the Pure induct ACF (gas
and odour filter). Collectors and active carbon filters are suited for single use and
CANNOT be reused, regenerated, cleaned with water or be vacuumed.
In the first few months, regularly check your
collector visually concerning the saturation degree
to see if it needs replacement and to determine
your personal replacement period. We advise you
to use the collector image to see if your collector
needs replacement. The image displays the side-
view of the collector. Replace your collector when it
displays a saturation degree of the collector shown
as “Saturated Collector”. The collector will display
a saturation level from the side of the collector that
is pointed towards the electrostatic section to the
other side of the collector.

Pure induct
BRINK / 17
GB
5. Use
Because of this, it is important when you check the saturation level, to place the collector
back in the appliance with the same side pointing to the electrostatic section as when you
took the collector out of the appliance. Otherwise, it is difficult to check the saturation level
the next time you check this, as it will display saturation from two sides of the collector
instead of from one side of the collector.
5.3 Turning on the Pure induct
1. Note! The appliance should only be turned on when there is air flow in the ventilation
duct. Turn off the appliance when there is no air flow in the ventilation duct (when
the ventilation system is turned off or is set at 0 m³/h).
2. Make sure the main switch [1] is positioned on position 0. Plug the connector end of
the power cord [2] into a grounded power outlet. Do not connect voltages other than
the labeled factory requirement (~110-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz).
3. Set the main switch to position 1. The switch should light up.
4. The machine is now in “ACTIVE” mode and will clean the air in the ventilation conduit.
5.4 Maintenance
To ensure the optimal operating of your appliance, we advise to schedule a professional
maintenance appointment, depending on your pollution degree, at least every two years.
Contact your dealer or Brink to schedule a maintenance appointment.
