1.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TheLBC-HDBT-T/R-48-Lite can send uncompressed audio/video and
IP data over a single run of CAT-5e/6/7 cable at a distance up to 60
meters. It has the added benefit of control through the built-in RS-232
andIRportsanda bi-directional LAN servingconnection.TheReceiver
(PD)canbepowered by the PoE48VfunctionoftheTransmitter(PSE),
allowing for greater flexibility in installations.

2.0 OPERATION CONTROLSAND FUNCTIONS
2.1 Transmitter Front and Rear Panels
1. DC48V: Plugthe48VDCpowersupplyintotheunitandconnect
the adaptor to an AC outlet.
2 . IR1 BLASTER: ConnecttothesuppliedIRBlaster cable for IR
signaltransmission.Place theIRBlasterin directline-of-sightof
the equipment to be controlled.
3. IR2 EXTENDER: Connect to the supplied IR Extender cables
forIRsignalreception. Ensure that remotebeingusediswithin
the direct line-of-sight of the IR Extender.
4. CAT-5e/6/7 OUT: Connect to the Receiver unit with a single
CAT5e/6/7 cable for transmission of all data signals.
5. HDMIIN: Connectto HDMIsourceequipment suchasa DVDor
Blu-ray player.

6. STD/UPDATE Switch: This switch is reserved for factory use
only.
7. RS-232 IN: Connect to a PC or Laptop with D-Sub 9-pin male
cable for the transmission of RS-232 commands.
8. POWER LED: This LED will illuminate when the device is
connected to a power supply.
9. LINK LED: ThisLEDwillilluminatewhenbothTransmitter and
Receiver are connected through CAT cable. When it blinks
regularlyitstates the Transmitter is NOTsendingsignal but the
Transmitter and Receiver are linked and if it blinks irregularly it
states an error has occurred.

2.2 Receiver Front and Rear Panels
1. IR2 BLASTER: ConnecttothesuppliedIRBlastercable for IR
signaltransmission.Placethe IRBlasterindirect line-of-sightof
the equipment to be controlled.
2 . IR1 EXTENDER: Connect to the supplied IR Extender cables

4.0 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
4.1 Maintenance
Thereisnooperatormaintenanceother then keeping the units
clean. However, observethefollowinglightindicatorstomake
sure that the unit is working properly:
4.2 Troubleshooting
If the LBC-HDBT-T/R-48-Lite units do not operate properly
after installation, check for possible cable breaks, loose
connections, and incorrect cable connections. If problems
persistthatmay befiberrelated, contactBCIat1-800-214-0222
for further assistance.
For electrical problems, perform the following troubleshooting
procedures:
1. If the POWER indicator is OFF, check for the following:
a. The line cord is plugged into the unit and your outlet
haspower.
2. If the POWER indicator is ON, but the Link indicator is
OFF, check for the following:
a. Makesuretheappropriatecablesarebeingused.
b. Cableandcableconnectorsarenotbroken.
c. For each unit, the transmit (TX) cable is connected to
theotherunit’sreceiver (RX).
3. If the POWER indicator and Link indicator are ON, but
the channels are not operating, then:
a. Checktoseethatthe attacheduserequipmentisturned
on.
b. Bothendsofthelinkareconnectedtothecorresponding
equipmentandtothe samecorresponding channelport.

c. Cable connections at both channels are securely
fastened to each connector. Turn the power off, then
back on to reset the link.

6.1 Replacement Policy
Standard products found defective on arrival (DOA) will be
replaced,basedonavailability,within24 to 48 hours anywhere
in the U.S. Please call Customer Service at 800-214-0222 for
information.
6.2 Return/Repair Service
The LBC-HDBT-T/R-48-Lite System contains no user
serviceablecomponents.Ifyouhaveaproblemwith your unit,
pleasecontactthe Customer Service Department. Tofacilitate

7.0 LIMITED WARRANTY
BroadataCommunications,Inc.(BCI) warrants, for aperiodofoneyear
from date of shipment, each product sold shall be free from defects in
material and workmanship. BCI will correct, either by repair, or at
BCI’s election, by replacement, any said products that in our sole
discretion prove to be defective and are returned to the manufacturing
location within 30 days after such defect is ascertained. All warranties
are limited to defects arising under normal use and do not include
malfunctionsorfailureresultingfrommisuse,abuse,neglect,alterations,
electrical power problems, usage not in accordance with product
instructions, improper installation, or damage determined by BCI to
havebeencausedbytheBuyer or repairmadebyathirdparty. Limited
warrantiesgrantedonproductsareto the initial customer end-user and
arenot transferable. OURLIABILITYUNDERTHISWARRANTYSHALL
