(chimney)of fuel burningequipment to preventbackdrafting.Follow the heatingequip-
mentmanufacturer’sguidelines and safety standards such as those published by the
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating,
RefrigerationandAirConditioningEngineers(ASHRAE),and thelocal codeauthorities.
5. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other
hiddenutilities.
6. Ductedfansmust always be vented to the outdoors.
7. Donotuse this unit with anyseparatesolid-state speed control device.
8. Toreducetherisk of fire, use only metal ductwork.
9. Thisunitmust be grounded.
TOREDUCE THE RISK OFA RANGE TOP GREASEFIRE:
A. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and
greasyspillovers that may ignite.Heat oils slowly onlowor medium settings.
B. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or when cooking flaming foods. (i.e.
CrepesSuzette,Cherries Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef Flambe’).
C. Cleanventilatingfansfrequently.Grease shouldnot beallowed toaccumulate onfan or
filter.
D. Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface
element.
