This equipment generates ancJ uses radio frequency
energy and if not installed and used properly, that is,
in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instruc¬
tions, may cause interference to radio and television
reception. It has been type tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class B computing
device in accordance with the specifications in
Subpart J of Part 15 of FCC Rules, which are
designed to provide reasonable protection against
such interference in a residential installation.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will
not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment
does cause interference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the
equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try
to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
— reorient the receiving antenna
— relocate the typewriter with respect to the
receiver
- move the typewriter away from the receiver
- plug the typewriter into a different outlet so
that typewriter and receiver are on different
branch circuits.
If necessary, the user should consult the dealer or
an experienced radio/television technician for
additional suggestions. The user may find the
following booklet prepared by the Federal
Communications Commission helpful:
“How to Identify and Resolve Radio - TV
Interference Problems”. This booklet is available from
the US. Government Printing Office, Washington,

KEYBOARD COVER
HANDLE
Remove the power cord from
the compartment. Close the
power cord compartment cover
and insert the plug of the
typewriter into a standard AC
electrical outlet. ^
Your compact, lightweight Brother AX-10 comes
equipped with a built-in handle that makes
carrying your AX-10 easy.
Set the power switch located on the left side of the
typewriter to the ON position. Whenever power is
turned on, the typewriter is automatically set to Pica
pitch, the left margin is set at position 10 and the
right margin is set at position 75. The carrier will
move to the left end of the platen and then return to
the left margin setting.
COVER SWITCH
POWER
To return the power cord to its
compartment, first place the
plug inside the compartment
and then fold the cord carefully
into the compartment.
Remove the
keyboard cover
the typewriter by
gripping and slightly rotating outward at the
two tabs on the left and right. Open the
power cord compartment cover at the rear
of the typewriter by pressing the two tabs
at the top of the cover. /
When the cover is lifted (e.g., to replace a daisy wheel), the power to the carriage and daisy wheel motor is
shut off by a cover switch. When the cover is then closed, the carriage moves to the left and then returns
to its original position.

CORRECTION TAPE
Both lift-off correctable ribbon correction tape and To replace the correction tape, first remove the cassette

CASSETTE RIBBON
To insert a cassette ribbon, turn the ribbon feed knob
on the cassette counterclockwise to tighten the ribbon.
Then use both hands to slip the back edge of the
cassette onto the carrier.
Note: Use authorized cassette ribbon and correction tape only,
O Failure to do so, will invalidate the guarantee.

SETTING

To prevent damage and ensure proper installation, Press the motor lock lever toward the platen until it

PAPER SETTING AND FEED
When the paper comes between the platen and the
paper bail scale, return the paper bail scale to its
original position* In order to adjust the paper,push the
paper release lever (which loosens the paper) and
make necessary adjustments.
Then return the paper release lever.
Lift paper supporter then insert the paper behind the
platen.
Turn platen knobs until paper wraps around platen.
When the top edge of the paper appears, lift the paper
bail scale and continue to turn the platen knob.
