
5. Insert the strap end of the lanyard through the loop of the lanyard to form the hitch (Fig. 3).
6. Pull down on the strap end of lanyard to remove slack and tighten the hitch (Fig. 4).
7. The #2 bronze snap may be used for connection of the 1 ¾” diameter steel ring when
transporting the chain saw as shown in Figure 5 (chain saw not shown for clarity).
Lanyard Connection to Chain Saw
Note: The lanyard must be wrapped around the chain saw handle at least twice (as shown in the steps
below) so that the lanyard is not free to slide up the chainsaw handle and impede the worker’s operation
of the saw.
1. Disconnect the snap attached to the strap end of lanyard from the steel ring.
2. Snugly wrap the strap around the handle of the chain saw below the trigger mechanism. (You
must make a minimum of two full wraps as shown is Step 2).
3. Connect the snap back to the steel ring as shown in Step 3.

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT TO BE USED FOR FALL RESTRAINT OR FALL ARREST.
For proper tear-away function, this product must not be used with a chain saw weighing more
than 15 lbs. (fully fueled).
Dropping your saw is not recommended as it will cause deployment of the unit.
Remove unit from service, destroy and discard if chain saw is dropped.
NOTE: Ensure proper fit / size of product before use. This product can not be returned unless it is in
new / unused condition.
