The following procedures are general steps for a typical installation. For additional information, please contact Technical
Support at 1-800-229-3404 or [email protected].
1Open Unit cover and power down the Unit.
2Disconnect Satellite Terminal cable from Unit.
3Unmount the DMR-800 Satellite Terminal.
4Mount IDP Satellite Terminal in existing mounting bracket using the
included screws. Ensure terminal is pointing due south of Mexico.
5Connect IDP Satellite Terminal to Unit.
6Power on the Unit.
Replacing the Satellite Terminal
WARNING:To prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage when handling electronic equipment, always wear an anti-static
wrist strap attached to an unpainted, grounded metal object. Ensure the wrist strap has maximum contact with bare skin.
1Attach FUT to Unit’s Firmware Upload
serial port. The update begins automatically.
2LED lights on the FUT:
Status LED light indicates when FUT is updating or complete.
Activity LED light ashes during the verication and update process.
IMPORTANT: Unit must complete packet transmission to complete the update.
If packet transmission is not successful, repeat the rmware update process.

IMPORTANT: Do not turn off the unit during the update
process.
3When the Completed status light turns on and the Activity light turns off,
disconnect the FUT.
4LED lights on the Unit:
The Acquiring Signal light ashes to indicate Unit is searching for satellite
signal.
The Packet Queue light ashes to indicate Unit is transmitting. The light turns
off when Bullhorn Web receives the packet.
Unit automatically sends a packet when update is complete to register the
new terminal with the Unit.
IMPORTANT: Wait until the Unit’s Radio LED is a solid green before proceeding.

NOTE: A replacement fuse is included in the IDP Conversion Kit in the event the unit’s fuse is blown. For additional informa-
tion, refer to the RM4000 Series User Guide available on the Bullhorn RMU Support Site (support.aiworldwide.com).

1To verify unit type change in Bullhorn Web, log into your Bullhorn Web account and navigate to the Unit.
2To verify unit type change in Bullhorn Tools:
aConnect conguration cable to Unit and your laptop.
bOpen Bullhorn Tools. After the scan has completed, click Connect to open the Unit Overview
window.
The unit will display as the old unit type until approximately 20 minutes after the terminal swap.
cIf desired, send an additional test packet — wait at least one minute after the Unit has completed the
rmware update before sending the packet.
OPTIONAL: Verify Terminal Replacement on Bullhorn Web or in Bullhorn Tools
Complete Terminal Replacement
1Disconnect USB cable from Unit if it was used to verify Unit
through Bullhorn Tools.
2Apply the included IDP Update sticker to the Unit faceplate.
Refer to the image for recommended location for the sticker.
3Apply the Satellite Terminal’s identication sticker to the inside
of the Unit enclosure. This will help to match the terminal with
the Unit in case they are separated. The serial numbers for the
Unit and the Satellite Terminal must match for the Unit to
function properly. The identication stickers are included in the
IDP Conversion Kit.
4Close and secure Unit cover.
You can verify that the unit has changed to the replacement type from either Bullhorn Tools or your
Bullhorn Web account.
RM4010 units will change to RM4014.
RM4011 units will change to RM4015.
RM4013 units will change to RM4016.
