INTRODUCTION
The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Children
less than 8 years of age shall be kept away unless continuously
supervised. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
European Directives
As a producer and a supplier of cooking appliances, we are committed to the protection of the en-
vironment and are in the compliance with the WEEE directive. All our electric products are labelled
accordingly with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol. This indicates for disposal purposes at the
end of life, that these products must be taken to a recognised collection point, such as local au-
thority sites/recycling centres.
This appliance Complies with European Community Directives (CE) for household and similar elec-
trical appliances and Gas appliances where applicable.
This appliance conforms to European Directive 2009/125/EC regarding Eco design requirements
for energy-related products.

To ensure you obtain full benets from your appliance;
•Remove all packaging.
•Check the appliance for damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier or supplier.
•Remove any protective plastic coating.
•Any water in the appliance is due to testing and is normal.

INSTALLING YOUR APPLIANCE
LOCATION
•Theapplianceshouldbelocatedonaat,levelsurfacethatisadequatetosupporttheweight
when full of water. It should not be positioned closer than 100mm from the side walls. A mini-
mum clearance of 300mm is required from a shelf or ceiling.
•The appliance is only to be installed in locations where its use and maintenance is restricted to
trained personnel.
•Fixed ventilation and an openable window must be provided to the room in which the appli-
ance is to be installed and used.
•This appliance is not suitable for installation in an area where a water jet could be used.
•Do not install in an area where the water within the appliance can freeze. If the water in the
appliance becomes frozen DO NOT operate the appliance and call a service engineer to check
the appliance for structural damage before using again.
INSTALLATION
•This appliance should only be installed by a GAS SAFE registered engineer.
•The installation should be in accordance with the current Gas Safety Installation and Use Regu-
lations and the Health and Safety at Works Acts.
•The installations should comply with the relevant requirements of the British Standards
BS6173, BS6891, BS5472 parts 1, 2, 3; BS5482 parts 1,2 and 3 and BS3212.If you smell gas
or in the event of a leak or suspected leak, do NOT light any appliance or touch any electrical
switch. Call the Gas Emergency Helpline at 0800 111999.
•Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (Nature of Gas and Gas Pres-
sure) and the adjustment of the appliance are compatible (the adjustment conditions are
stated on the data plate).
•Parts that are protected by the manufacturer or their agent are not to be adjusted by the in-
staller.
GAS CONNECTION
Portable GWB 20L
• Thegasconnectionismadeusingexiblehose(8mmI.D.)complyingwithBS32121991to
eitherthebottlegovernorortheatapttedattheendofarigidpipeworkassembly.Thegas
bottle or isolation tap, must be located close to the appliance so that it is possible to turn on
the gas and light the appliance safely. Turn on the gas and check the installation for sound-
ness.
•Theapplianceshouldbesecurelyscreweddownontoaatsurface.Thegasconnectionis
8mmO.D.pipeandsuitablecompressionttingisrequiredtocompletetheinstallation.Turn
on the gas and check the installation for soundness.
Note:ThePortableGWB20Lhasaroundholeinthebasepanelallowingngeraccesstoblock
off the burner injector. This is necessary when completing a full soundness check, including the
appliance’s internal gas circuit. To do this, connect a pressure gauge to the pressure test point.
Conrmthesupplypressureiscorrectandthenturnoffthegassupply.Whilstblockingtheinjec-
tor,depressthecontrolknobandturntothelargeamesymbol.Ifthepressureremainsconstant,
the appliance is sound.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
FOR YOUR SAFETY

•Hot combustion products exit the appliance via the 6 horizontal slots positioned at the sides
and rear. Do not leave or place anything close to the appliance when in use. Not only would
thiscreateapotentialrehazard,itcouldalsopreventthenaturalowofairthroughtheap-
pliance, which is essential for good combustion.
BEFORE LIGHTING THE APPLIANCE
• Theapplianceisintendedforprofessionaluseandonlybyqualiedpeople.
•Make sure the room is well ventilated and an openable window is available.
•Wipe all external surfaces of your appliance with a damp cloth.

• Depressthecontrolknobandturnanti-clockwisetothelargeamesymbol.
•Continue to depress the control knob and at the same time push in the piezo ignition button.
A spark will be generated and the burner will light. Several attempts may be necessary after
initial installation.
•After 5 seconds release the control knob. The required setting can now be selected between
the high and low settings.
•If the appliance fails to remain alight, wait 3 minutes before attempting to re-light.
HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE
• Beforefirstuse,filltheappliancetothe‘MAX’linewithaweakdetergentsolution,boil,drain
and thoroughly rinse with clean water. Repeat this step so the urn is cleaned twice.
•IMPORTANT: Always put water in the appliance before switching on. If the appliance is
over-filledthereisariskthatboilingwaterwillbeejectedfromaroundthelid.
• Removethelidandfilltheappliancewiththedesiredamountofwater.Donotfillabovethe
‘MAX’capacitymark.
•Replace the lid.
• Afullcapacity20litreappliancefilledtothe‘MAX’linewilltakeapproximately45-50minutes
to boil from cold on the high setting.
•Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst in use.
•Do not allow the appliance to boil dry.
•The appliance should NOT be carried whilst it contains water, particularly hot or boiling water.
•Theapplianceisnotsuitableforheatingliquidsotherthanwater,orforheatingwatercontain-
ingsolids.Ifthewaterisbeingheatedforteamaking,maketheteainanothercontainer.
•TO AVOID BEING SCALDED, KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM ANY STEAM FROM THE LID
WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS OPERATING OR HAS JUST BEEN SWITCHED OFF.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING YOUR APPLIANCE
CLEANING
Water may be left in the appliance for a short period but to maintain a supply of fresh water, it
should be emptied periodically and cleaned out.
•Turn off the gas before cleaning and allow the appliance to cool.
•IMPORTANT-Donotuseanyabrasivecleaninguidsormaterials.
•Wash out the appliance using clean water and a soft cloth.
•Brush any scale or sediment from inside.
•Rinse thoroughly.
•The outer surface should be cleaned with a warm, weak detergent solution and a soft cloth.
NOTE: If in the course of time discolouration of the boiler pan occurs, this is in no way detrimental
to the appliance, providing that the cleaning instructions have been carried out.
NOTE: THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT WATERPROOF.
WARNING : DO NOT USE A WATER JET SPRAY TO CLEAN THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR
OF THE APPLIANCE, OR USE A WATER JET IN THE VICINITY OF THE APPLIANCE
DESCALING
In hard water areas, scale will form inside the appliance. This will adversely affect the operation of
the appliance if allowed to accumulate. Descaling can be simply achieved by using a proprietary
descaler. Chose one recommended for stainless steel kettles. It is important to follow the instruc-
tions given on the descaling solution carton. IMPORTANT Failure to descale will invalidate
your warranty.
SERVICING
To ensure the long life of your appliance, we recommend servicing annually. If service is required,
please contact us using the contact details at the back of this book.
•Before servicing, turn off and disconnect the gas supply. After servicing, check the appliance
for soundness.

SPARE PARTS AND WARRANTY
WARRANTY
This appliance is guaranteed against defective materials or faulty workmanship, for a period of 12
months on labour and 12 months on parts.
This warranty is given subject to the appliance being used in accordance with the instructions sup-
plied, and on the supply voltage marked on the rating label. The warranty is subject to fair wear
and tear conditions.
The warranty does not cover consequential damage arising out of any failure acceptable under
warranty, nor does it cover damage resulting from misuse, accident or unauthorised alterations to
the appliance.
Proof of purchase will be required.
In any communication with the supplier or manufacturer, quote the model and serial number
marked on the appliance rating label.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
The products are intended for commercial use as detailed in these instructions.

IMPORTANT: Any service call resulting from a lack of regular descaling is not covered by this
warranty and will be chargeable
