DAB+ wasdevelopedin Europe byaconsortiumofbroadcastersandmanufacturers. DAB+ usesdigitalcompression
techniquestotransformthesourcematerial, i.e. musicand speech,intobetterqualityaudio.
Interference freereception
Analoguesystemssufferfromaneffect called “multipathdistortion”. Thisiscausedbecausewavesdonotbehavein
anorderlyfashion, butbounceandreflect off buildingsetc.DAB+seesthisasanadvantageandusesthedirect and
reflectedsignalstoactuallyreinforcetheendresult,allowing forbetterservicemoreofthetime.
Noneedtore-tune
Asingle DAB+frequencycanbeusedtocoverthe wholeofthe Australia,sosolving manyoftheproblems
experiencedwiththe earlieranaloguesystem. DAB+ scansautomaticallyand tunes-in alloftheavailablestationsin
yourarea.

maybenecessarytoalterthe positionofthe DAB+ RADIO and/oraerialtoachievethe bestsignal.
Using Headphones
Youwill requireheadphonesfittedwitha3.5mmdiameterstereo plug.Theheadphonesocketislocatedon theback
ofthisunit.Headphonesarenot suppliedwiththis DAB+ Receiver.
Turning theUnitOn/Off
ConnectthepoweradaptertotheDC Jackonthe backofthe unit.Theninsert thepoweradapterintothewall outlet.
Turnthemainspoweronandthenpress the STANDBY Buttontoturnontheunit. Press the StandbyButtontoturn
theunittoStandby.
Whenyou turnonyourradioforthefirsttimeyou willbepresentedwiththis

1.Press the MENU Buttonduringplay, and ‘Info willbedisplayedonthescreen.Thenpress the SELECT/NAV
Buttontoconfirm.
2.Press the MENU Buttonand the SELECT/NAV ButtonrepeatedlyuntilSignalStrengthisshownon thedisplay.A
signal barwill be displayedasshownbelow.
The indicatoronthesignalbarshowstheminimumacceptable
signallevel.
@Note: Stations withsignalstrengthbelowthe minimumsignal level will
notprovideasteadystreamofaudio.
DRC(DynamicRangeControl)
Youcansetthelevel ofthecompression ofstationstoeliminatethe differencesindynamicrangeorsound level
betweenradiostations.
@Note:SetDRC to off indicates no compression, setDRC to low indicateslittlecompression,and setDRC to high shows
maximumcompression.

tochangethefrequencyby0.05MHz.
4.Toauto-searchin FMMode,press the SELECT/NAV Buttonandthenpress andhold the or
Buttonsand itwillskipforwardsorbackwardstothe nextavailable station.

1.Press the MENU Button, andthenpress or toselect ScanSetting menu.
2. Press the SELECT/NAV Buttontoconfirm.
@Note: Youcan choose between Strong Stations Only and AllStations. Ifyouchoose StrongStations Only, the menu

2. Theradio willgointoStandbymodeand start tocountdownthe 5minutesunitsnoozeisover, seebelow.
3. TheAlarmwillsoundagainafterthesnoozetimehaselapsed,atthistime, if youpressthe SNOOZE Button
again anditwillcount downforanother5minutes.
To TurnOff Alarm
1. Press the ALARM Button toenteralarm1orAlarm2setting.

Buttontoconfirm.Thenfollowthesteps,until you reach ‘AlarmSaved .
HowtoSetRadioSleepTime
1.Press the SNOOZE Buttonduringplayandthedisplaywillshow- “Setsleeptime àSleep Off”,makesure
neitheralarmisset whensettingsleeptime.
2.Press the SNOOZE Buttonrepeatedly toselecttheSleep timeonandthe amount oftimebeforeyouwishthe
radiotoautomaticallyswitchoff. You canselect- Sleep Off,15, 30,45,60 or 90minutes.
3.Press the SELECT/NAV Buttontoconfirm,andthensleep icon willbedisplayed.
4. Toviewthesetsleep time,press the SELECT/NAV Button.
5.OncesettheradiowillautomaticallyturntoStandbymodeaftertheset timehaselapsed.
