CARE AND MAINTENANCE
AFTER USE
• Set to Standby.
• Switch the unit off at the mains and unplug it if you are
leaving it unattended for a long period (holidays etc).
CARE AND CLEANING
All care and cleaning operations should be carried out with
the unit unplugged from the mains power.
Occasionally wipe the cabinet with a lint free duster. Never
clean the unit with liquids or solvents.
LOCATION
Place the unit on a dry stable surface away from heat and
damp and where it is unlikely to fall or be knocked over.

CONNECTING MAINS POWER
• Connect the mains adaptor to the wall socket
• Connect the other end of the adaptor (18V jack) into
the DC mains input socket on the rear of the unit (12).
• Switch the wall socket ON.
NOTE: Only use the supplied mains adaptor. Do not use
any other AC power adaptor to avoid damaging the unit.

the POWER indicator (9) will go out. To power the unit
ON press the STANDBY button once more The POWER
indicator will illuminate ‘green’ to indicate iPod / iPhone mode.
NOTE: As part of the power saving mode the unit will enter
STANDBY mode automatically after 20 minutes (approx)
of no audio output. A docked iPod / iPhone will continue to
charge.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
1. To increase the volume level press the VOLUME + button
(2,17) repeatedly or press and hold for fast adjustment.
2. To decrease the volume level press the VOLUME- button
(2,17) repeatedly or press and hold for fast adjustment.
MUTE FUNCTION
To temporarily mute the sound output of the speaker, press the
MUTE button (18). To resume the sound output press again.
EQ SOUND EFFECTS
There are ve sound EQ presets available to choose from.
1. Press one of the options from the SOUND EQ buttons
(27). Choose from FLAT, ROCK, JAZZ, POP &
CLASSIC. Each button will alter the audio EQ output.
So you may want to try each one to get an idea of what
effect it has on the genre of music.
CONNECTING AN IPOD / IPHONE
1. Press the STANDBY button (4,13) to power the unit ON.
You will see the POWER indicator (9) illuminate with a
green dot, to indicate the unit is ON and in iPod/iPhone
mode (default mode).
2. Place your ofcial iPod / iPhone®docking adapter onto
the iPod / iPhone dock, taking care to match and insert
the two locking tabs into the two rectangular holes in the
front of the dock and press down gently to secure.
3. Connect a compatible iPod / iPhone to the dock
connector (1). Take care when connecting not to damage
the 30 pin connector.
IPOD / IPHONE OPERATION
REPLACING THE REMOTE BATTERIES
■Replace the remote control battery when it no longer
operates the unit, or the range is reduced considerably.
■ Use only CR2025 3V lithium batteries
■Bear in mind that lighting & other room conditions, in
addition to battery age, can affect the operating range of
an infrared remote control.
1. Press the tab on the bottom of the remote control inwards
as shown (a).
2. Pull the battery compartment out (b).
3. Remove old battery and replace with the same type with
the + facing upwards (c).
4. Push the battery compartment back inside the remote
and close.

GETTING STARTED
Before use the remote control will need the plastic
protection tab removing from the bottom. Just pull this
tab out so the battery can make the connection with the
terminals.

IPOD / IPHONE PLAYBACK
1. Press the IPOD button (19) on the remote control to
switch to the iPod mode (if not already in that mode).
2. The unit will begin to play back the last selected track on
your device automatically. If you can’t hear any sound
after 20 seconds, remove & re-seat the device.
NOTE: Before you re-dock the device, make sure you are
not playing a video.
3. You can now either select audio from your device to play
using the iPod / iPhone’s controls or by using the remote
control. See iPod / iPhone controls below.
4. While the iPod / iPhone is docked the internal battery will
be charged until full.
IPOD / IPHONE CONTROLS
1. To skip through the available iPod / iPhone menus press
the MENU button (14).
2. Use the UP / DOWN navigation buttons (21,25) to
scroll up and down through the menu items.
3. To select an item press the ENTER button (22). This button
will also select a track to begin playback.
4. You can skip to the next track by pressing the NEXT
/ FFWD button (7,24). Press and hold to fast forward the
current track.
5. You can skip to the previous track by pressing the PREV /
FRWD button (6,15). Press and hold to fast rewind the
current track.
6. To play a track press the PLAY/PAUSE button (5,23), to
pause a track that’s currently playing press again.
7. To enable the shufe/random function of your device
press the SHUFFLE/RANDOM button (16). Press again
to cancel.
8. To repeat the current track press the REPEAT ONE/ALL
button (26). To repeat all the tracks in an album press again.
To cancel press once more.
NOTE: IOS 7 no longer supports the following remote
functions (Navigation UP /DOWN, SELECT & MENU).
IPOD / IPHONE VIDEO OUTPUT
It is possible to view videos stored on your iPod / iPhone
through the speaker and onto your TV screen.
1. Connect a composite video cable (not supplied) to the
‘Composite video output socket’ (10).
2. Connect the other end of the composite video cable to the
VIDEO input on your TV. The connector is usually a yellow
colour.
3. Dock your iPod / iPhone (if not already).
4. Ensure the POWER is ON.
5. Press the IPOD button on the remote to switch to iPod /
iPhone mode.
6. Switch the TV input mode to composite.
7. Play the video on your device and the video will appear on
the TV screen.
NOTE: The audio of the video will still come from the
CSPK401Wi speaker because the cable only carries a video
signal.
AUX INPUT OPERATION
AUX INPUT MODE
Follow the steps below to connect the unit to an external
audio device using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied).
1. Connect one end of the cable (not supplied) to the MP3
players headphone / Line output and the other end to the
AUX input (11) on the rear of the unit.

2. Press the STANDBY button to power ON from
STANDBY mode (if not already powered ON). The
POWER indicator will illuminate ‘green’ to indicate the
default iPod/iPhone mode is active.
3. Press the INPUT MODE button on the unit (3) or the
AUX button on the remote (20) to switch to AUX mode.
The POWER indicator will now illuminate ‘red’ to
indicate AUX mode is active.
4. Press PLAY on the external audio source EG:-MP3
player.
NOTE: The volume output is effected by the volume level
on the source EG: MP3 player so make sure that is set to
about 70-80% ( not too loud to avoid distortion ).
5. Adjust the VOLUME controls (2,17) on the unit or remote
to the required listening level.
AUX INPUT OPERATION TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom Possible Cause Solution
The iPod/iPhone will not play 1. The unit is not in iPod mode.

and the external audio device.
Supplied with the unit are four adhesive rubber feet to aid grip on
a at surface. Follow the diagram below to t.
1. Turn the unit over so the bottom is facing upwards.
2. Peel the backing lm off each rubber foot, and place one in
each corner of the unit as shown in the diagram opposite.
