Player is equipped with safety switches to avoid
exposure when the door is open and the safety
interlocks are defeated.Invisible laser radiation is
present when the Player’s lid is open and the system’s
interlock has failed or been defeated.It is very important
that you avoid direct exposure to the laser beam at all
times.Please do not attempt to defeat or bypass the
safety switches.

This unit employs a laser, only qualified
service personnel should attempt repair.
• Any electrical work that is required to install this
appliance MUSTbe carried out by a qualified
electrician.
• Before making any electrical connections,ensure the

• Do not bend,stretch or pull the supply cable in order

Installation
Preparation for use
Connecting the loud speakers
1: Unwrap the speaker wires.
2: Place a speaker on either side of the main unit,
preferably at the same height, and with at least
150mm between each speaker and the main unit.
3: Connect the speaker wire plugs to the sockets on the
rear of the unit (20).Take care to match the speaker
placed to the LEFT to the ‘L’ output on the rear of the
unit and the RIGHT speaker to the ‘R’ output.
4: When connecting ensure the locking tab is facing
upwards (the plugs will only connect this way).

Remote control battery installation
1: Press your thumb down onto the engraved arrow
on the battery compartment cover, and slide in the
direction of the arrow.
2: Insert one AAA/ LR3 battery taking care that the
battery direction matches the printed directions
inside the battery compartment.
3: Slide the battery compartment back onto the remote.
Notes on battery usage
• Do not insert battery into the remote control in the
wrong direction.
• Do not charge,heat,open or short-circuit the
battery. Do not throw battery into a fire.
• If the remote control does not function correctly or
if the operating range becomes reduced,replace
the battery with a new one.
• Improper replacement of batteries may result
in explosive hazard.It must be replaced only by
batteries with the same or equivalent type.

Getting started
1: Connect the mains plug to a wall outlet and switch on.
2: Press the STANDBY button on the main unit (2) or
remote control to wake from standby.
Standby mode
1: Press the STANDBY button on the unit (2) or press
the STANDBY button on the remote to put the system
into standby mode.To resume normal operation press
either button again.
NOTE:This unit is designed to enter STANDBY
mode automatically after 20 MINUTES
(approximately) of inactivity. Press the STANDBY
button to wake the unit.
NOTE:When you power on the unit from standby
the last used mode will resume.
General operation
Volume function
1: Rotate the VOLUME control (18) clockwise or press
the VOL+ button on the remote control to increase
the volume output.
2: Rotate the VOLUME control (18) anti-clockwise
or press the VOL- button on the remote control to
decrease the volume output.
Mute function
1: Press the MUTE button (13 main unit) or the
button on the remote control to silence audio
playback.
2: Press again to resume audio output once more.
EQ function
1: Press the EQ button (14) on the main unit or remote
repeatedly to cycle through the EQ sound effects.
Select from:FLAT, ROCK, CLASSIC, JAZZ & POP.
Switching input modes
Follow the below instructions to switch between CD,
USB, DAB, FM, LINE-IN & BLUETOOTH input modes.
Main unit
1: Press the SOURCE button (4) repeatedly to cycle
between CD, USB, DAB, FM, LINE-IN & BLUETOOTH
input modes.
Remote control
1: Press the CD button to switch to CD mode.
2: Press the BT button to switch to BLUETOOTH mode.
3: Press the DAB button to switch to DAB mode. Press
once more to switch to FM mode.
4: Press the SOURCE button repeatedly to cycle
between CD, USB, DAB, FM, LINE-IN & BLUETOOTH
input modes.
FM radio operation
Connecting the antenna
1: Before use insert the antenna plug into the antenna
input (19) on the rear of the unit.
2: Fully extend the pigtail aerial and position it for the
best reception.
Tuning an FM station
1: Press and hold either TUN- or TUN+ button on the
remote to begin scanning up or down the frequency
range. When a station is located playback will begin
automatically.
2: To fine tune the frequency press either TUN- or
TUN+ button to advance in 0.05 increments.
4: Press the AUTO TUNE button on the remote to
perform a full auto scan which scans the entire
frequency range and automatically stores any located
signal as a station preset (see Station presets
section).

Storing station presets
Follow the below steps to store a tuned station to one
of 20 preset locations to allow quick access.
1: Tune to a radio station
2: Press and hold the PROG button on the remote.You
will see ‘EMPTY 1’ appear on the display.
NOTE:If a station has already been saved to the
location you will see the preset number and the
station fequency saved instead of ‘EMPTY’.
3: Use the TUN- or TUN+ buttons to select a location
number.
4: Press the ENTER button to store the tuned station to
the selected preset location.
Recalling station presets
1: Press either / or / button repeatedly
to cycle through the preset location range 1-20.
2: When selected the preset station will begin playback
after a brief pause.
Stereo / Mono modes
Switching to MONO mode can help to reduce static
interference from a low signal strength.
1: Press the MENU button (6) on the main unit or the
remote to enter the FM settings menu.
2: Use the TUN- or TUN+ buttons on the remote to
navigate to the ‘AUDIO’ setting.Press the ENTER
button to enter the menu.
3: Use the TUN- or TUN+ buttons on the remote to cycle
between STEREO and MONO.
4: Press the ENTER button to select the option.
Scan modes
1: Press the MENU button (6) on the main unit or the
remote to enter the FM settings menu.
2: Use the TUN- or TUN buttons on the remote to
navigate to the ‘SCAN’ setting.Press the ENTER
button to enter the menu.
3: Use the TUN- or TUN+ buttons on the remote to cycle
between LOCAL (Strong local stations only) or DX (All
available stations).
4: Press the ENTER button to select the option.
Display modes
Every time you press the “INFO”button on the remote
control, the display will cycle through the following
display modes.

Program name
Displays the name of the current station.
Radio text
As with DAB,broadcasters can include a scrolling text
that displays information about the current program. If
radio text is not available then the display will show‘NO
TEXT’.
Program type
This describes the “Style” or“genre” of music that is
being broadcast e.g.“Rock “or “Classical”.
Frequency
Displays the frequency of the current station.
Audio mode
Displays the current FM mode of STEREO or MONO.
Time & date
The time & date is set automatically from the DAB or FM
broadcast.
DAB radio operation
Connecting the antenna
1: Before use insert the antenna plug into the antenna
input (19) on the rear of the unit.

Getting started
1: When the DAB mode is activated for the first time the
unit will perform a scan for available stations.When
located the first alphanumerical station will begin
playback while the other stations are stored.
NOTE:If no stations where located during the
scan, relocate the unit, extend the antenna fully
and read the ‘Manual Tuning’ section.
Listening to the stored dab stations
1: To listen the DAB stations that have been stored press
either TUN- or TUN+ button on the remote to cycle
through the list of programme names.
2: Press the ENTER button on the remote to tune to the
selected station.
NOTE:If the display is showing any display mode
(shown below) other than station name then an
additional press of TUN- or TUN+ is required first
to return to the station name before being able to
cycle through the station list.

Every time you press the “INFO”button on the remote
control, the display will cycle through the following

DLS (dynamic label segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that the
broadcaster may include with their transmissions.This
message usually includes information, such as program
detail etc.
Display modes (cont)
Signal strength
This option will display a bar indicating the signal
strength.
Program type
This describes the “Style” or“genre” of music that is
being broadcast e.g.“Rock “or “Classical”.
Ensemble/Multiplex (group name)
A multiplex/ensemble is a collection of radio stations
that are bundled and transmitted on one frequency.
There are national and local multiplexes.Local ones
contain stations that are specific to that area e.g.MXR
West.
NOTE:Unlike FM radio, DAB groups several radio
stations together & transmits on one frequency.
Channel frequency
Displays the current DAB multiplex in use.
Error rate
Displays the signal error rate
Bit rate
Displays the current stations broadcast bit rate.
Mode
Displays the current mode.
Time & date
The time & date is set automatically from the DAB or FM
broadcast.
Performing a station scan
1: To activate the full scan press the MENU button on
the remote.
2: When the ‘FULL SCAN’ option appears press the
ENTER button on the remote to perform a full scan.
Manual tuning
As well as an auto tune function, you can manually
tune the receiver.
1: Press the MENU button.
2: When the ‘FULL SCAN’ option appears press either
TUN- or TUN+ button and locate ‘MANUAL’, press the
ENTER button.
3: Use the TUN- / TUN+ buttons to cycle through the
DAB multiplexes, which are numbered 174.95A -
239.213F .
4: Now press the ENTER button to enter the selected
ensemble/multiplex, there will be a bar graph
denoting the signal strength displayed.

5: To save any extra stations located to the station list
or to return to the default screen,press the ENTER
button and press the MENU button once more to
return to DAB mode.
Pruning
When the radio has performed a Scan in several
locations you may find there are stored stations that
you can no longer receive.This function automatically
removes them from the stored station list.
1: Press the MENU button.
2: When the ‘FULL SCAN’ option appears press either
TUN- or TUN+ button and locate ‘PRUNE’, press the
ENTER button.
3: Use the TUN- / TUN+ buttons to select ‘Y’ (yes)
and press the ENTER button to perform the prune
function.
DRC ( dynamic range control )
This function causes the radio to reduce the dynamic
range of the audio signal.The purpose of this is
to adapt the dynamic range of the audio signal to
listening in a noisy environment.
NOTE:this is not available on many DAB stations.
1: Press the MENU button.
2: When the ‘FULL SCAN’ option appears press either
TUN- or TUN+ button and locate ‘DRC’, press the
ENTER button.
3: Use the TUN- / TUN+ buttons to select between DRC
OFF, DRC LOW and DRC HIGH.
4: Press ENTER button to save the setting.
CD operation (CD /MP3 CD)
Playing a disc
1: Press the EJECT button (12) on the main unit or on the
remote, when the disc drawer pops out insert a disc
(label side facing upwards), press the EJECT button
again to close.
2: When the door is closed“READING” will appear on
the display as the unit detects compatible audio
tracks.
3: Playback will begin automatically from Track 01 (CD).
Playing a disc (cont)
NOTE:When playing an MP3CD the first track
from the first folder will play automatically unless
there are any files outside of folders.
4: To stop playback press the STOP button (7) on the
main unit or on the remote.
5: To pause playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
(17) main unit or on the remote during playback.To
resume playback press once more.
Skipping tracks CD /MP3 CD
1: To skip to the next track on a disc press on the
main unit or / on the remote control.
2: To skip to the previous track press on the main unit
or / on the remote control.
3: To skip 10 tracks in one press use the 10- / 10+
buttons on the remote control.
Skipping folders MP3 CD only
1: To skip folders press either FOLD- / FOLD+ buttons
on the remote.
2: Each press skips to the next folder and plays track 01
automatically.
NOTE:Tracks found in the root of the disc (not in
folders) play first before tracks in folders.
Fast searching tracks CD /MP3 CD
1: To fast forward a track during playback press and hold
(16) on the main unit or remote control.
2: To fast rewind a track during playback press and hold
(15) on the main unit or remote control.
MP3 CD information
• Max 999 tracks and 99 folders can be recognised.
• Only MP3 files are compatible.
• The disc must be finalised.Multi-session discs are
not compatible.
• During playback,discs damaged with dirt or
scratches may make a pop,clipping sound or cut
off.

Random playback CD /MP3 CD
Follow the below instructions to playback the contents
of a CD or MP3CD in a random order.
1: Press the SHUFFLE button on the remote.
2: The word ‘SHUFFLE’ will appear on the display and
begin playback of ALL tracks in a random order. There
will be a small ‘SHUF’ icon appear in the bottom left
of the display while active.

3: Press the SHUFFLE button again twice in succession
to cancel random playback.
Repeat playback CD
Follow the below instructions to repeat tracks on a CD.
OFF REPEAT 1 REPEAT ALL
1: Press the REPEAT button on the main unit (6) or
remote control to cycle through the REPEAT mode
options.
2: The first option is ‘OFF’,so press once more to enable
the ‘REPEAT 1’ option.This repeats the current track.
3: Press REPEAT again to enable the ‘REPEAT ALL’
option.This repeats ALL tracks on the disc.
4: Pressing the REPEAT button once more returns back
to the ‘OFF’ option to cancel the function.
Repeat playback MP3 CD
Follow the below instructions to repeat tracks on an
MP3 CD.

1: Press the REPEAT button on the main unit (6) or
remote control to cycle through the REPEAT mode
options.
2: The first option is ‘OFF’,so press once more to enable
the ‘REPEAT 1’ option.This repeats the current track.
3: Press REPEAT again to enable the ‘REPEAT ALB’
option.This repeats ALL tracks in the selected folder.
4: Another press of the REPEAT button enables the
‘REPEAT ALL’ option.This repeats ALL tracks on the
MP3CD.
5: Pressing the REPEAT button once more returns back
to the ‘OFF’ option to cancel the function.
Programmed playback CD /MP3 CD
Follow the below steps to program and alternate play
back order.
1: Stop playback of the loaded disc if required.
2: Press the PROG button on the remote control.You will
see the following appear on the display.

NOTE:When programming a standard CD there
will only be two digits for the track no.
3: Use the / buttons on the unit or remote to
select a track.If you are programming a MP3CD or
USB device with folders press the FOLD- or FOLD+
buttons on the remote to navigate the folders first.
NOTE: Any tracks in the root of the disc (eg no
folder) are included in folder 01.
4: Press the PROG button to store the selected track
into the program sequence 1.The display will now
change to the following.

TRACK NO PROGRAM SEQUENCE NO
5: The ‘TRACK NO’ changes to the track selected
previously.The ‘PROGRAM SEQUENCE NO’ changes
to ‘PR02’ to indicate you are now programming track
2of the program sequence.
6: Repeat steps 3-4until you have programmed all
tracks required.
7: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (17) on the main unit
or remote to begin playback of the programmed
sequence.
8: Press the STOP button twice to cancel the
programmed sequence.

USB operation
Playing a track
Follow the steps below to load a USB flash drive and
play a track.
1: Insert a compatible USB flash drive into the USB
input socket (10) on the main unit.
/MENU
2: The first track in folder 01 or the root of the USB drive
will begin playback automatically.
4: To stop playback press the STOP button (7) on the
main unit or on the remote.
5: To pause playback press the PLAY/PAUSE button
(17) main unit or on the remote during playback.To
resume playback press once more.
MP3 information
• Do not remove the USB device during playback.
• Max 999 tracks and 99 folders can be recognised
• USB flash drive format:FAT 16,32 only.
• USB reading speed may be effected by the number
of files on the device.
Skipping tracks
1: To skip to the next track press on the main unit
or / on the remote control.
2: To skip to the previous track press on the main unit
or / on the remote control.
3: To skip 10 tracks in one press use the 10- / 10+
buttons on the remote control.
Skipping folders
1: To skip folders press either FOLD- / FOLD+ buttons
on the remote.
2: Each press skips to the next folder and plays track 01
automatically.
NOTE:Tracks found in the root of the USB device
(not in folders) play first before tracks in folders.
Fast searching tracks
1: To fast forward a track during playback press and hold
(16) on the main unit or remote control.
2: To fast rewind a track during playback press and hold
(15) on the main unit or remote control.
Random playback

AUX input operation
Follow the steps below to connect an external audio
source for playback through the speakers.
NOTE:You will need a 3.5mm audio cable (not
supplied) to connect a device to the AUX input
socket.
1: Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable to the LINE
IN input socket (9) on bottom of the unit. Connect the
other end to an earphone or line-out socket on the
audio device.

2: Switch to LINE IN input mode (see page 6).
3: Press PLAY on the audio device.
3: Adjust the volume to your desired level.
NOTE:when connecting via the headphone output
the volume of the mini system is affected by the
volume control on the player. Ensure that the
player is set to about 70-80% to avoid distortion.
Earphone operation
1: Connect the 3.5mm earphone plug into the
EARPHONE socket (11) on the bottom of the unit.
To prevent possible hearing damage,do
not listen at high volume levels for long
periods.
If you hear no sound during playback, do not turn the
volume up as the music may suddenly begin at a high
volume.
Earphone operation (cont)
Excessive sound pressure from earphones and
headphones can cause hearing loss.
To avoid damaging your ears,adjust the volume to the
lowest safe level before playing,and turn up to the
desired level when playback has started.
Bluetooth operation
Connecting a device
When using the Bluetooth connection,you can listen to
audio wirelessly from a Bluetooth audio device within
10 metres of the CMN155DABBT unit.
1: Switch to BLUETOOTH input mode (see page 6).
2: When in Bluetooth mode you will see ‘BT’ appear
on the display and the unit searches for previously
connected devices.
3: Enable Bluetooth on your audio device and search
for available bluetooth connections.Select the
CMN155DABBT from the list. If you are asked for a
pass code enter ‘0000’.
NOTE:If you turn off either device before pairing
is complete the process will need to be repeated
when powered ON again.
4: Once paired an audible sound is heard through the
CMN155DABBT speakers.
NOTE:Each time you switch the CMN155DABBT
on and select BLUETOOTH mode the device will
automatically connect, unless you have un-paired
the device on your bluetooth audio device.
5: You can now begin playback from the audio
device and the output will playback through the
CMN155DABBT.
6: When using a mobile phone as an audio source and
you receive a phone call the audio playback stops
while you receive the call. When you hang up the
audio is restored.
NOTE:the volume output is effected by the
volume level on the audio source EG:Phone or
laptop, so make sure that is set to about 70-80%
(not too loud to avoid distortion).

Controlling a connected device
Once connected you can either use the controls on
the audio device to begin playback, skip tracks etc.Or
you can use the control buttons on the unit/remote
control.
1: The PLAY/PAUSE button (17) on the main unit or
remote when pressed will begin playback of the
selected track on the audio device.Press again to
pause playback.
2: To skip to the next track press (4) on the main unit
or on the remote control.
3: To skip to the previous track press (3) on the main
unit or on the remote control.
NOTE: All other general audio functions such as
MUTE, EQ & VOLUME work as described on page
6.

For your convenience a mains plug with a fuse (3
Amp) has been fitted to this appliance. For your safety
please observe the following information.
• The unit is designed to operate on AC mains supply

• The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:

Under no circumstances should the Neutral or Live
wires be connected to the ‘E’ (Earth) terminal.

Care & maintenance
After using your radio
• Set to Standby.
• Switch the unit off at the mains and unplug it if you are
leaving it unattended for a long period (holidays etc).
• Avoid leaving batteries fitted if you leave the radio
unattended for long periods.They may leak and
damage the radio.
Care and cleaning
• All care and cleaning operations should be carried out
with the unit unplugged from the mains power.
• Occasionally wipe the cabinet with a lint free duster.
Never clean the unit with liquids or solvents.
Disc handling information
• Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
• Do not attach paper or tape to disc.
• Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and
sound deterioration. Wipe the disc from the centre
outwards with a soft cloth. Always keep the disc
clean.
• If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth,wipe
the disc lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth and
finish with a dry cloth.
• Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner,
benzene,commercially available cleaners or
antistatic spray for vinyl. It may damage the disc.
• Do not store discs in a place subject to direct sunlight
or near heat source.
• Do not store discs in a place subject to moisture and
dust such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
• Store discs vertically in a case,stacking or placing
object on discs outside or their case may cause
warping.
