Important!
This manual outlines the operation of the electrofusion tooling.
This manual forms a part of the product to which it relates. It
should be kept for the life of the product. Any amendments issued
by aldervale Technology Ltd should be incorporated in the text.
The manual should be passed to any subsequent holder or user of
this product.
General description.
The tool has been designed to limit the flow in P.E. pipe from
16mm to 63mm (dependant on model) SDR11 & SDR17 pipe work
in accordance with
Gas Industry Standard GIS/PL2-7:2006
Squeeze-off equipment.
Pipe is squeezed using a manually operated threaded ‘T-Bar’
actuator
The unit has rotating pre-sized limiting plates that are used to limit
the squeeze gap and prevent over compression.
It is the responsibility of the operator to ensure that the PE
pipe is suitable for squeeze off application if in doubt
contact the PE pipe manufacturer for confirmation

Safety
Precautions
1. This tool is designed to be used in conjunction with best
practices as stated in
Gas Industry Standard GIS/PL2-7:2006
Squeeze-off equipment.
2. It is imperative that all possible precautions are made to avoid
unexpected movement of the tool during use.
3. The tool should be used in pairs of 2 per side of the prospective
jointing area, spaced accordingly to avoid damage to the pipe, to
ensure adequate lock-off of material flow (see illustration (1)
below) using ‘best practice’ procedures (refer to local authority
recommendations & pipe manufacturer)

Instructions for use.
Fitting
1. heck Pipe Diameter and SDR ratio. Set both LIMIT PLATES
(See Illustration (2) below) to appropriate sizes on all 4
Squeeze-Off Units. The correct orientation is with the required
size pointing towards the BOTTOM BAR
2. Remove the BOTTOM BAR from the tools. Place the frames
over the pipe to be squeezed, and reposition the BOTTOM
BARS ensuring that the pipe is contained between the
SQUEEZE BAR and the BOTTOM BAR
3.
Wind-down the ‘T-Bar’ until the LIMIT PLATES just come into
contact with the BOTTOM BAR (see illustration (2) below) The
pipe is now in a ‘squeezed off’ condition. Repeat for all units in
use
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TIGHTEN FURTHER OR DAMAGE TO
THE PIPE AND THE TOOL MAY OCCUR!
Removal
After repairing/working on pipe, relax the threaded ‘T-Bar’ on all
units gradually to allow pipe to recover and medium to flow. When
fully clear of pipe, remove BOTTOM BAR and remove tools from
pipe.
7

8
Maintenance
lean Threaded ‘T-Bar’ screw threads after use, and re-
grease/lubricate at regular intervals (after every use)
DO NOT allow dirt, mud or other abrasive material to enter the
screw thread! Always wipe-off debris BEFORE tightening/un-
tightening threaded ‘T-Bar’.
Failure to observe this may affect any warranty claims due to the
specific use of this tooling (does not affect statutory rights).
