Place joist into the frame. For 4x8 Dock, place a 47”
long joist(M). For 8x8 Dock place a 95” long joist(N).
The procedure for installing joists is the same for 4x8 and 8x8 frames.
The only dierence are the number of joists added to the bottom of
the frame. The 4x8 dock receives 2 joists and the 8x8 receives 5 joists.
For 4x8 Docks measure 24 ¼”from the edge of the joist to the outside of the truss frame
and position truss here. This will ensure that there is a structure to mount the oat to.
Use vice grips or a clamp to hold the joist against the truss frame.

THRUFLOW™ DECKING
If using ThruFlow™ Decking please follow ThruFlow™ Decking instructions in
ThruFlow™ package or at www.canadadocks.ca/assembly-instructions
ThruFlow™ polypropylene decking will make the dock lighter (compared to
wood) and will prolong the lifetime of the maintenance free product.
4x8 Dock Sections
WOOD DECKING
If installing wood decking - see additional instructions in at
www.canadadocks.ca/assembly-instructions
NOTE: Check with your local building codes and regulations when
constructing the deck.
DO NOT USE GREEN PRESSURE TREATED WOOD WITH CANADADOCKS™
FRAMES, the preservative reacts with aluminum frames.
Anchoring is REQUIRED. All docks must be anchored at the furthest point from shore to prevent damage
during storms. The amount of anchoring is determined based on the currents/wave size on the body of water.
Using an “X” pattern for chains under dock is recommended (see image 2,3).
If anchoring a Standing Dock, attach Chain Retainer (L) to inside leg as shown (see Figure 1). Slide
chain through key hole in Chain Retainer (L) and pull down to lock into position. If anchoring a Floating Dock,
attach chains to Eye Bolts as shown (see image 3, 4).
For further information on anchoring oating docks see Floating Dock instructions in dock package or at
www.canadadocks.ca/assembly-instructions
PLEASE NOTE: Chain Retainers (L) must be purchased separately. Eye Bolts are supplied with oating dock kit. L
