GENERAL CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY
Warranty
1 - CARAVAGGI guarantees its CHOPPERS against breakage caused by material or
manufacturing defects.
2 –The warranty covering your CHOPPER comes into effect on the date of purchase
and/or delivery, and is valid only for the first owner for a period of 12 months.
3 - CARAVAGGI has the right to inspect the CHOPPER and the components for which
claims are made under the warranty in order to verify the validity of the warranty.
4 –The warranty covers the free replacement only of components found to be faulty due
to material or manufacturing defects. Trade parts and accessories are not covered by
the warranty.
5 –Charges for labour, consumable materials and transport connected with
repairs under the warranty will not be reimbursed.
Warranty invalidation
1 - CARAVAGGI cannot be held liable for damage in general, including damage or
personal injury, lost income or production stoppages, hire charges and any moral or
commercial damage, all of which are therefore excluded from the warranty.
2 –All warranty claims regarding the motors mounted on the CHOPPERS are the
responsibility of the service network and therefore not of CARAVAGGI.
3- The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, misuse, insufficient
maintenance, accidents or damage caused during transport.
4 –Consumable items subject to wear and tear, such as bearings and belts, are not
covered by the warranty.
5 –The distributor, seller or dealer is responsible for the settings and set-up.
6 –Repairs, maintenance or modifications performed by unauthorised dealers or other
persons will immediately render the warranty null and void.
7 –Routine maintenance and adjustments are the responsibility of the owner and are
thus excluded from the warranty.
8 –The use and mounting of non-original components and accessories will immediately
invalidate the warranty.
Warranty claim procedure
If the CHOPPER presents material or manufacturing defects, the owner should send a
written claim under the warranty, as instructed below.
1 –The machine must be taken to the dealer from which it was purchased or to an
authorised CARAVAGGI dealer.
2 –The owner must present a fully-compiled warranty coupon or, if not available, the
purchase invoice.
3 –The warranty claim will be compiled by the dealer, who will send it on to
CARAVAGGI.
4 –CARAVAGGI has the sole discretion for accepting or rejecting claims made under
the warranty.
5 - The Court of Brescia will have sole jurisdiction in the event of a dispute.
The warranty will come into effect on the date on which the machine is put into
operation, provided it does not exceed 30 days from the date of despatch, and will be
valid for 12 calendar months.

1. INTRODUCTION
FOREWORD
Thank you very much for buying a Caravaggi TPF 15.
Caravaggi has many years’ experience in making shredding
and composting machines and now produces a full range.
Caravaggi TPF 15s are designed to last a long time and to
work in complete safety provided that the instructions given in
this handbook are followed closely.
We suggest that you read these use and maintenance
instructions carefully in order to prevent serious injury or
damage to the machine due to a lack of knowledge of the
operating principle.
When you have become sufficiently familiar with your TPF 15,
you can start to use it.
INTRODUCTION
This Caravaggi TPF 15 is a modern-concept composting
machine that is highly efficient and easy to use. If it is used
and serviced correctly, it will serve you long and well, to your
complete satisfaction.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATION
It is very important to read this handbook carefully to
familiarize yourself with the safety rules, and learn how to
operate and regulate it properly.
IMPORTANT
Caravaggi declines all liability if these operating
instructions are not followed carefully.
If you are not sure about anything or have any doubts,
please contact the manufacturer or an authorised dealer
and ask for advice.

4. SAFETY RULES
Improper use and incorrect maintenance may cause injury or damage.
In order to avoid all possible accidents, please read and apply the
following safety standards at all times.
GENERAL RULES
1. Do not use your shredder until you have read this handbook
thoroughly. A replacement copy can be obtained from:

2. Children and unauthorised persons or anyone lacking the
required technical skills must not be allowed to use the chopper.
3. The user has third-party liability for damage or injury caused by
the machine within its range of action. Children, animals and
unauthorised persons must be kept well away from the area.
4. Use the machine to chop organic and vegetable material (or for
applications authorised by CARAVAGGI ).
5. Ear protectors, gloves and goggles must be worn at all times. Long
trousers and heavy shoes must be worn. Do not use the chopper in
bare feet, or wearing sandals or tennis shoes or loose clothes that
could get caught up in the moving parts.
6. The fuel is volatile and highly flammable. This means the fire risk is
high, so:
a) Use a suitable container.
b) Do not fill the tank with the engine hot or running.
c) Do not smoke while handling fuel.
d) Always fill the tank in the open air using a funnel.
e) Mop up any spilt fuel.
7. Make sure all the safety guards are in position.
8. NEVER remove or bypass the safety devices –they are designed and
built for your safety. If they get damaged, replace them before using the
chopper.
9. Keep your face, hands and feet away from the loading and unloading
units. Make sure there are no unauthorised persons within the
machine’s range of action. The operator must always keep to the safety
distance.
10. NEVER leave the chopper unattended with the engine running or
the power takeoff engaged.
11. Before carrying out any maintenance interventions, switch off the
engine and wait for everything to come to a complete standstill.
With the electrical version, switch off and unplug the machine for
extra safety.

With the version with petrol engine version engine, switch off and
remove the sparkplug. With the tractor version, disconnect the
drive shaft.
12. Do not touch the engine while it is running or when it has just been
switched off, as it will be very hot and there is the risk of getting burnt!
13. To get good results, always check the outcoming product, and re-chop
if necessary.
14. Check frequently that all the nuts, bolts and screws are tight.
15. To prevent the risk of fire, make sure the chopper is not clogged with
leaves or any other material (electric/petrol versions).
16. Do not alter the number of revolutions of the engine. If the engine
needs to be adjusted, have it checked by an authorised dealer.
17. Your chopper has been built in accordance with all the latest safety
standards. To ensure that is continues to work efficiently and safely,
always use original Caravaggi spare parts.
18. Only the maintenance operations detailed in this handbook should be
performed. Major repairs or other work must be done by an authorised
Caravaggi dealer.
19. Before switching the machine on, make sure there is nothing inside the
chamber to prevent it from starting up and rotating freely.
20. With self-propelled machines, check that the motor is always in perfect
working order and follow the manufacturer’s advice and instructions.
With the electric version, check the direction of rotation of the motor.
The machine should be warmed up briefly before running at maximum
speed.
IMPORTANT
21. If the machine malfunctions or suffers sudden or violent impact,
stop the motor or engine immediately.

5. STARTING UP
Electrical version
1. Check that the electric system is grounded to earth and comes with
suitable fuses.
2. Check the mains supply has the same intensity as the motor rated
power (see the rating plate).
3. Check that there are no foreign bodies inside the machine.
4. Power on the control panel, by rotating the O/I selector switch to I.
5. Switch selector 0//to .
6. When the desired rate has been achieved, switch the selector to .
Petrol version
1. Check that the oil and petrol level in the engine.
2. Start the engine keeping to the instructions provided in the attached
handbook.
3. Run the engine at the minimum speed for a couple of minutes to warm
it up.
4. Operate the controls provided to bring the engine at a steady rate
condition.
Tractor version
1. Check that the drive shaft is equipped with protection covers.
2. Make sure the speed rate of the tractor power takeoff coincides with
that of the machine gearmotor.
3. Check that there are no foreign bodies inside the machine.
4. Start the tractor and operate the power takeoff.

6. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Electrical version
1. Fill the feed hopper with material, dropping it without pressing to
prevent it from getting blocked.
2. Continue to fill the hopper with material.
3. When the hopper is full, run the machine empty for a couple of minutes.
Switch off the motor, moving selector 0//to position 0.
4. Remove the control panel, switching selector O/I to O.
Petrol version
1. Fill the feed hopper with material, dropping it without pressing to
prevent it from getting blocked.
2. Continue to fill the hopper with material.
3. When the hopper is full, run the machine empty for a couple of minutes.
Stop the engine following the instructions given in the handbook
provided.
Tractor version
1. Fill the feed hopper with material, dropping it without pressing to
prevent it from getting blocked.
2. Continue to fill the hopper with material.
3. When the hopper is full, run the machine empty for a couple of minutes,
and then stop the power takeoff.

7. MAINTENANCE
Perform maintenance operations with the engine or motor switched
off, keeping to the safety rules. In the electrical version, remove the
power cable. In the petrol version, remove the sparkplug. In the
tractor version, disconnect the drive shaft.
Replacing the chipping blades
1. Unscrew the 4 nuts of the hopper and overturn it.
2. Unscrew the screws and replace the blades.
3. Tighten the blscrews.
4. Reposition the hopper upright and tighten the 4 nuts.

Replacing the blades
1. Unscrew the 4 nuts of the hopper and turn it over.
2. Unscrew the 6 screws of the upper disc, and remove it.
3. Remove the worn blades and replace them with new ones, taking case
to reposition them in the original position.
4. If only some blades need to be replaced, the system must then be
balanced.

complies with the main Health and Safety Rules in accordance
with EC Directives 89/336 and 89/392 and subsequent
modifications 89/686, 91/368, 93/44 and 93/68.
