These selectors are only used in multi-SAR mode. If only one device is connected to the
line, must remain on OFF.
The selection of cabin allows multiple devices to share a single telephone line. This
requires to number the lifts from 1 to 4 correspondingly. The cabin number 1 will serve
all incoming calls and manage the diversion of the call to the rest of lifts.
Likewise, if one car needs to make a call, it will notice to the rest of lifts to keep clear the
line.
With firmware version v2.7 or higher, it’s not necessary to wire the multi-SAR bus
(COM1, 2 & 3) to share the phone line between any other lift. Please find the label in the
SAR device and check the firmware version in order to determine if you need to wire it or
not.

Step THREE
ALARM CALL
•Making an alarm call from the car
With the controller under inspection, press the alarm push button of the car operation
panel.
Check that keeping it pressed, the yellow light remains lit up. A few seconds later, the
green light starts to flash and you hear through the car speaker the message Calling,
please wait meaning that the call is in progress.
•Reception of an alarm call
The call made by the SAR plusCOM will be received on the telephone number configured
in Step ONE.
After picking up the telephone to answer the alarm, a message* will indicate whether the
call needs to be validated, if so, press within 15 seconds approximately, the green
light remains fixed, you will hear a message* confirming that the connection with the car
is done and the conversation can take place between the car and the telephone.
*These messages are only available with a SAR with firmware v2.7 or higher.
•End communication (hang up)
To finish the communication from the telephone, the command has to be sent to
the SAR PLUSCOM.
Step FOUR
MAKE A CALL FROM THE EXTERNAL BUTTONS
•Alarm call from the car roof button
Repeat Step THREE making a call from the alarm button inside the inspection box (yellow
button).
•Alarm call from the under-car button
Repeat Step THREE making a call from the alarm button installed under the car (yellow
button).
On some fixed telephone lines, the side of the line that has received the call remains engaged
until the calling phone hangs up or a minute has passed. To avoid this situation, SAR
plusCOM will hang up by end of conversation time or when it receives a signal from the
telephone company one minute later

4 - DEFINITIVE PHONE NUMBER CONFIGURATION
Once the test is completed, the definitive values that will determine SAR plusCOM
operation have to be configured: car voice synthesizer activation, rings before picking up,
test call, etc.
This configuration may be carried out manually or automatically via the SARlink software.
To configure manually the device for fulfilling the EN81-28:2003 standard follow the
following steps:
Step ONE
DATA GATHERING
Prior to the definitive configuration, it is recommended to write down all the values
needed. The following table shows parameters required for a standard installation:
Command

Step TWO
PARAMETER CONFIGURATION
•Establish communication with SAR plusCOM and enter CAM code
As explained in Step TWO of the installation test (page 6).
•Program the parameters of the previous table with the values written down,
following the procedure used to program the test telephone number
−If there are not 4 available alarm phone numbers, it is advisable to repeat them so every
parameter from 21 to 24 is configured.
−The roof & under-car alarm phone number (parameter 25) is designed to be configured with
the telephone number of the maintenance company.
−If there are not 2 available test phone numbers, it is advisable to configure the same number
in both parameters (26 & 27).
−For compliance with EN81-28, the Wait For End of Alarm mode must be configured to 1 and
the next test call at 3 days maximum (with SARLINK)
If the configuration is carried out via a phone call (not the intercom), just before 4 minutes of
communication, SAR plusCOM device generates some beeps meaning that the
communication time limit is approaching. Press on the phone keypad to extend to another
4 minutes. This process should be carried out every 4 minutes (parameter 35).

SAR plusCOM installation guide

•CAM code verification
It is recommended to verify the CAM code if the default CAM code has been modified. A
mistake during the changing process may leave the SAR plusCOM device inaccessible for
further actions. To check out the CAM code:
Command
SAR plusCOM says
➔
<Number1 Number2 Number3 Number4>
If the value indicated is not correct, re-program parameter 5 and check out its value
again.
•End communication (hang up) ( )
SAR plusCOM device includes a complete set of parameters that fulfils the operation
configuration. Its default values are considered valid for most situations. For further
information, refer to SAR plusCOM installation manual.
Step THREE
PERIODIC TEST CALLS (optional)
Receiving test calls with SARLINK.
After setting the test call phone number in parameters 26 and 27, force a test call by
entering the command *99# via intercom or telephone.
Inmediately after hanging up, the SAR plusCOM device will call to the number
programmed in parameter *26.
When SARLINK receives this call, it will register the call and set the time for the next test
call within the range set in the application.
Receiving tests calls manually or without validation from the receiving central
(From V2.7)
There is the possibility of receiving the test callas using a telephone or a receiving central
simply identifying the incoming number without knowing the validation protocol and
rescheduling of the test call.
To do it this way you should:
▪Introduce the desired telephone number in parameter *26.
▪Set parameter *55 to 1 (test w/out validation).
▪Hang up pressing: *0#
Then, the SAR plusCOM device will make the first test call after three days.
The SAR will call at each number set in parameters 26 & 27, and will do the number of
attempts set in *44 parameter.
At the end of this document all manual commands are shown. These parameters may be
used to make the final adjustments to the equipment operation to suit the requirements of the
maintaining company. More detailed information is explained in the k SAR plusCOM
installation manual.
Pay close attention setting the attempts for test calls, as in test calls without validation (*55
set to 1)the SAR unit will exhaust all retries.
It’s reccomended to set the attempts to 0, and introduce only one phone number in parameter
*26, leaving the *27 empty.

5 - VOICE SYNTHESISER
Since the SAR plusCOM equipment is connected to the communication bus of a
HIDRAsystem controller, it has the capacity to generate voice messages through the
speaker located in the car, acting as a car voice synthesizer, informing passengers about
the position and status of the lift.
This function can be activated modifying the parameter 40. This function adds features to
the lift and complies the EN81-70:
•Establish communication with SAR PlusCOM and enter CAM code

ADJUSTING VOLUME LEVELS
The volume of microphone, cabin speaker and synthesizer can be adjusted through the
menu (parameters 47, 48 and 49). We have abolished potentiometers adjustment of the
SAR device by a digital audio processing.
The user has 10 different volume levels for microphone, speaker and synthesis:

The night volume (adjustable through SARLINK) will fade 10dB the value adjusted in the
parameter 49. By SARLINK you can adjust the volume of night time.
In combinations of two or three languages, correspondence between message and reaction of
the controller may not match exactly. For example: "Doors closing, Cerrando puertas” when
the controller has already finished close.
Adjusting the volume level of the synthesis of plant to 0 does not disable the floor
synthesis. To disable it, set the parameter 40 to 0.
